Welcome to [community profile] maskormenace's CR MEME!!

How does this work? It's easy!
Make a thread for yourself or a comment with your character's name on it. Reply to that post with your filled out forms for organization's sake.
Comment to other people! See if their answers fit anything you're looking for and if yours fit anything they are. Don't be intimidated, carpe diem, we like to party.
Keep checking back! We strongly encourage you to track top-levels even, if possible. We want to make sure everyone gets their fair shot.
    Play nice and have fun!
    ( THE BASICS )
    Name: Your character!
    Canon: Self-explanatory!!
Character's (approximate) age: Or how old they appear.
Character's powers: List and describe them!
Is your character registered/will they be?: Why or why not! Maybe unsettled heroes will want to make connections with each other. Maybe registered heroes will want to team up. So on!
Where does your character live?: What housing residence are they in? Meet your roommates if you haven't already, make plans!
Are you looking for roommates?: If your character is currently housing alone, or planning to move out of their assigned housing. Is your character considering moving to one of our other cities? See who else might be doing the same!
What is your character's job?: And are they sticking with it? Enjoying it? Coordinate with potential coworkers, employers, or patrons -- why not!

    ( THE DETAILS )
RUNDOWN -- what are your character's skills, likes/dislikes, urgent needs?: What are they good at, what do they hate, what do they need (and so on) so that others know what they can offer you.
What are your character's plans?: Either what they're doing as we speak or what you'd like to do with them!
Does your character have a secret identity?: Since this can get confusing at times. Is your character a superhero with a public identity or do just a few people know who they are? List them, even!
Is your character open for pairings?: Useful to know! Possibly.
Are you open to having your character get hurt? Or, for villains, hurt others?: If yes, how much and in what circumstances?
Is your character interested in teams?: Registered hero teams are very well-received around these parts, as you might guess. If yes, coordinate with possible teammates and see if you can put something together!
What kind of plots are you after?: Let the brainstorming commence. This can be as vague, specific, or "big picture" as you'd like.
Anything else?: If you have anything else to add!

Liv | Cassandra Anderson

[personal profile] wronganswer 2018-03-20 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
( THE BASICS )
Name: Cassandra Anderson
Canon: Dredd (film)
Character's (approximate) age: 22ish
Character's powers: "Psychic" aka telepath/empath and newly acquired mind-healing. There's permissions & details here if you plan on threading with her!!
Is your character registered/will they be?: Yup
Where does your character live?: Maurtia Falls
Are you looking for roommates?: No she lives in the amusingly appropriate Law and Justice House
What is your character's job?: She super ditched her assigned one and at the moment is joining up with RISE and looking into using her mind-healing to greater purpose. Might end up doing something totally unrelated to enforcing the law because what is this wacky place.

( THE DETAILS )
RUNDOWN -- what are your character's skills, likes/dislikes, urgent needs?: Anderson is a Judge, aka fascist dystopian future cop who can sentence criminals on the spot. She's actually not a very good one by typical Judge definitions because she tends to be a softie who tells non-violent offenders to go to counseling. That's just by Dredd's standards, though-- in MoM she's kinda a ridiculous hardass, more similar to a soldier from perpetual war than a police officer. Despite all that, Anderson is pretty well-socialized and relaxed with most people, and keeps her reading minds to a chill, respectful level unless asked or under duress. She's extremely self-confident without being at all arrogant, likes exploring the countryside on her bike and new foods and all the things here that don't exist at home, dislikes being told she's amoral or has bad judgment (it's her job yo....), and needs to get more comfortable here!

What are your character's plans?: K2 told her to talk to Padme about using mind-healing on repeat offenders to get them over some of their trauma once she knows what she's doing with it, so that and RISE are her main priorities right now. Anderson really likes HELPING PEOPLE and although she is good at shooting people, does not particularly like that, so she is trying to find other ways to contribute and help that are non-violent while she's here. She is still prone to reacting like a Judge if she sees a crime in progress, though.

Does your character have a secret identity?: lmao no.

Is your character open for pairings?: Yyyyy although Judges are supposed to be celibate, Anderson is kinda a rebel so if you don't mind putting up with some internal angsting over her FUTURE AS A JUDGE (read: not bright) then she's open. I would prefer to get her into something F/F because I rarely get to play it and also, she's spent a lot of time mentally listening to male offenders try to shock her with images of raping her, if not outright threatening sexual violence, so Anderson is not that hot on sex with men after years of that.

Are you open to having your character get hurt? Or, for villains, hurt others?: Sure. She's actually pretty inexperienced by her universe's standards so she should be taking some beatings now and again.

Is your character interested in teams?: WELL she's joining RISE already but yeah, probably, of the do-gooder and law-enforcing variety. Anderson is actually a really good team player who is good at following orders when she agrees with the end goals, and she's a ludicrously flexible team member skills-wise, equally good at subtle work like interrogation and infiltration thanks to being psychic and at straightforward gruntwork like busting down doors.

What kind of plots are you after?: I really want to get Anderson questioning her morals and her home government-- not having it questioned by other people because that's not gonna have much impact on her, but more by example her seeing other ways of doing things. She is extremely baffled by how loosey-goosey things are here, by which I mean not fascist, and at the moment it's just unsettling her. I also want her to socialize like a Normal Person (TM) and develop some close connections and really just get to contribute to other lives in a way that isn't violence-based. Although that would be fun, too, lol. She basically just needs to get close to people and experience social support, which has been almost totally closed to her for years. She also has a lot of trauma and PTSD she has just... never... dealt with, that I would love to come out once she has enough connections. Anderson is not particularly kind to herself. Oh yeah, and getting her to a point where she mentally refers to herself by her first name would be a trick, hahaha.

Anything else?:

she's had a long road, ok.

Mutant friends mutant friends. Peter's happy to have a fellow mutant even from a questionably different world, since the mutant population here has steadily declined as of late. (Yeah, sure, ImPorts are of a similar vein but they kinda connected about how shitty people were to mutants & not many people Peter's met have Gotten That.)

He lives in Maurtia too so maybe they can chill a bit during the groundhog event or sometime after that? Idk, I just like the notion of mutants sticking together tho lol if he ever delves into how his dad is a total mutant terrorist.

i'm oli btw & i'm glad we are now plurk friends!!

YES I saw you had it listed so I went for it!!

I'm super about mutant friends, too. It's been low key a big part of Anderson's life and in her world, mutant prejudice is alive and well and reason to lynch people and it is so not about the powers aspect, haha. She's like "ok lol" to people who don't get that. And I love fun moral conundrums like terrorist dad.

Anderson might be running around like a crazy person during the time loop from hell week so maybe we should have them run into each other like... right afterward? She is going to have a hard time understanding this downtime concept. What is not on the job.

Afterward works great too! We can figure out more deets on plurk easily enough & keep updated on stuff.

Peter's a real lax guy who after a heavy past few months is all about living up that down time so he'd do what he can to try and get her to adjust to it. And also yeah - I just love the notion that they understand this facet of mutant prejudice that like other people do in theory, maybe, but they lived it? It's not something so easily replicated in life.

Absolutely!!

Haha yeah I love that he's so laid back and casual with her, it's pretty rare for people to actually treat Anderson like the early 20-something she is. And for sure... she downplays it but it means a lot to her, too-- comradeship was like, not a part of her life, really.

their house could probably help with the socialising thing! she can learn to deal with mundane irritations like what do you do when your roommate keeps eating your leftovers

LOL YES PLEASE she will be so baffled and clueless. She's probably lived in dormatory-style housing before as a teenager but nothing like sharing a house for sure. I would love to do a house thing!

Definitely not going to help on the "be less uptight" thing, but 622's got a pretty similar moral standard to Anderson's, he just came at it from a different direction. Cloned and totally brainwashed by the Empire, softened up somewhat by having a relatively conscientious and caring commander. ...Who just died unpleasantly in canon, so he's also got a bunch of that trauma thing going on too.

He definitely wants to do good and thinks the Empire does do good, despite a whole lot of people telling him otherwise. And the fact that his last posting was to a place colloquially known as The Death Star. uh

yeah so if you ever want another well-meaning person from a SF fascist military background, he's here

Sure, we can see how it goes. Anderson is pretty cognizant that her organization is grossly unethical half the time, though, hahaha, she's just coming to terms with whether she can work within that or not to achieve what she wants. Sooo might be an interesting mashup.

Cool! Oh, a further relevant note, while 622 grew up on stories about Jedi boogeymen, powers that look suspiciously like theirs (say, mind-reading and mental manipulation) are just being taken as "well the Porter did weird things to me too, so I can't judge."

I mean, he got in a pie fight with a literal Jedi who was openly using Force powers and he didn't notice. He is waaaay too trusting.

I have no idea if you want to play against full comedy, but Gina lives with the loosey-est of goosey police officers and has plenty of instances where they secretly made her be a better person by, like, believing in her talents and being there for her even when she's frequently being a self-absorbed drama queen.

On the other hand Gina being herself could also push Anderson into "maybe hardass is acceptable if it would get her to stop?!" so it's up to you. But Gina does love psychics (the other kind but...tomato tomahto) and Dredd police with Brooklyn Nine Nine police seem like they would create a matter/anti-matter explosion.

HAHA NO I am totally game to play against full comedy! Anderson is not nearly as much of a humorless stick in the mud as she has to pretend to be for work. She would probably be totally baffled by Gina but in like, a bemused, affable way.

Or there will a matter/anti-matter explosion. Let's find out. lol
