HE LOVES YOU RYO but you know. He still needs to figure out his confused gay feelings. Just give it time and some encouragement.

Right now, Ryo is Akira's strongest anchor in the whirlwind shitstorm that's been the first three weeks at this point. He's kind of leaning on Ryo to adjust, figure out wtf their game plan is and talk about all the weird Devilman changes that come along the longer he stays fused. Without him he'd probably be feeling a lot more lonely and uncertain.

As for Satan, he kind of caught Satan in a moment of vulnerability without knowing his past or who he is really. Akira's natural Goodboy instincts means he wants to make sure this weird angel is feeling ok. Of course, there's always the threat of this whole thing souring if he finds out too much, but for now, he's just curious.

THE GOODEST BOY

Akira has a natural inclination to want to protect Small Things and Martin counts as one, but it’s really the fact that he doesn’t see himself as a ‘person’ that makes Akira really want to be supportive for him. I see it as kind of like how Akira views Devilmen who see themselves as demons? Like hey, you may have some kind of inhuman power, and you may feel different from humans, but you’re still a person that deserves kindness and empathy!!

So basically Martin-chan better get fuckin ready for some anime faith and compassion because he’s GONNA GET MORE OF IT. And Akira will be gently nudging him to check out new things and show him they’re ok.
