YO I HEARD YOU LIKE TL;CR

STEP ONE: Post with your character!
STEP TWO: Respond to other people's characters with your characters. They will then tell you, in detail, what their character thinks of yours -- and as per the meme's title, tl;dr is encouraged, but not necessary! Don't be afraid to ask others for their characters' first impressions of yours as well.
STEP THREE: Write out tl;dr for whoever comments to you in return.
STEP FOUR: Chat with each other in mutual joy/horror/disgust/delight/confusion at where your CR has gone!
BONUS: Use this for writing up CR charts, or if you already have them written, link to them!

Rex isn't the first authority figure Marty's encountered here, but he's quickly become the top one. Part of that is superficially driven by Rex having an uncanny resemblance to his grandfather in demeanor and...y'know. Silhouette. SORRY BUD YA REMIND THIS KID OF AN OLD-ASS CULT MAN. But maybe be flattered bc Marty actually strongly respects his gramps?? Grandfather Tyr has always been in his court and all, even during times when Marty figures he probably...shouldn't be...

So all the more strange and mysterious that Rex is actively impressing the want to care for him -- the most chilling thing was being called something of value. He doesn't see any value in himself, so he's very confused to hear it from Rex (or anyone who isn't family or OBLIGATED to give a shit). He's scared of it, too, because it's comforting to be cared for, but also he's pretty sure he's destined to disappoint him and get discarded, which is super scary and he doesn't actually want that. Except he does??? Because he deserves it, he's sure? IT'S CONFUSING. CONFLICTING FEELINGS OF FEAR AND SELF-LOATHING IN MAURTIA FALLS.

Being obedient is easy when it's simple commands, so he's pretty eager to respond to those. But any deeper into the nature of himself or things that seem too ""human"" are giving him a lot of pause, and he's scared of being treated as something he's not. He feels like it's only a matter of time to letting him down, and he's scared of that, too. Scared to be abandoned and scared to be kept too close -- WHERE'S THE HAPPY, SAFE MIDDLE GROUND?? DOES IT EVEN EXIST.

The head-touch has him shook too because his father used to do likewise (plus more hair ruffles) and Marty is 10000% convinced he got his dad killed and that everyone good and nice to him will suffer for it so he's like WELL IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I RUIN REX'S LIFE TOO...GREAT...I HATE THIS............

It's like a pendulum swinging between "want to stay & do right by this kind person" and "want to frickin vanish which WILL do right by this person" and that's just how marty lives his damn life

oh my god THIS CHILD... THIS POOR CHILD. they're going to mutually murder each other, it's already happening.

IT'S OKAY MARTO. YOU CAN'T RUIN REX'S LIFE. IT'S ALREADY RUINED.
