Ash's feelings towards Archie have been revised and edited multiple times. At first he was defined as a nice person, helpful, good friend. Then the tree incident happened and he was defined as an angry person, malicious, bad friend, possible enemy. Ash had never had an enemy before, and wasn't sure how to process this betrayal. Then Lucretia mentioned that it was the stone's fault, not Archie's, and that if it hadn't been for the stone, Archie wouldn't have done the things he did and then died. Archie's status was then defined as victim, good friend, helpful, apologetic, uncertain friendship level. But after being so nice to him at the St. Patrick's party, he's back into good friend territory.
