YO I HEARD YOU LIKE TL;CR

STEP ONE: Post with your character!
STEP TWO: Respond to other people's characters with your characters. They will then tell you, in detail, what their character thinks of yours -- and as per the meme's title, tl;dr is encouraged, but not necessary! Don't be afraid to ask others for their characters' first impressions of yours as well.
STEP THREE: Write out tl;dr for whoever comments to you in return.
STEP FOUR: Chat with each other in mutual joy/horror/disgust/delight/confusion at where your CR has gone!
BONUS: Use this for writing up CR charts, or if you already have them written, link to them!

I've reiterated this a bunch and PROBABLY WILL UNTIL MAGNUS INEVITABLY TELLS ARCHIE AS MUCH, but Archie was the first person to prove to Magnus that maybe he can live a normal life again. He had wholly given up on that possibility in the past after only befriending coworkers for the last SEVERAL years - he never thought he could just settle down and be able to make friends for the sake of being friends, not for lack of desire, but just because that sort of life seemed completely foreign to him at this point. Then he met Archie, they got on like a house on fire, and he finally thought: yeah, I can do this. Archie's always going to be really special to Magnus for that! He's enthusiastic and kind, sees Magnus for who he is and likes it, endlessly passionate about things Magnus is passionate about as well, and just has a big, welcoming heart. Magnus felt right at home beside him immediately.
There's that whole world-ending schtick, and he knows Archie's unhealthy, but he believes in Archie's inherent goodness and in his ability to claw his way to a good, happy life. He had spent a lot of time worrying about Archie anyway, but it seemed like he was doing okay!
AND THEN THE RELIC HAPPENED AND EVERYTHING WENT TO SHIT. The long and the short of it is that while they've reconciled, Magnus probably isn't actually ever going to get over what happened; he feels entirely responsible for it, for introducing a new, awful thing into Archie's life, yet another obstacle to him finding his own sense of happiness, and he's never going to forgive himself for that. He'd been perfectly willing to believe that Archie just never wanted to see him again and that he would write Magnus off entirely because, ultimately, that's how Magnus thinks about himself! That being said, he's feeling a lot better and they're on the road to recovery - it's just going to take a little longer for things to actually become easy again. He's determined to be the best friend he can be even if (PATHETIC WEEPING AT RENEWED FRIENDSHIP ASIDE) he needs to hold back some of his own vulnerability to do so.
