I may not always know the full extent of their capabilities but I have a general understanding of what they can all do. I know why they're so powerful, why they were made, and by now I have a better understanding of the Thrall they put people under. We... didn't, at first.

Why were they made? It seems counterproductive if they're just gonna make you go batshit no matter what your intentions with 'em are....

I agree, for what it's worth.

They were made to split up the Light of Creation into seven parts, in order to diffuse its energy to hide it from the Hunger, and stop it from devouring more planes of existence, like all the others it consumed before. It... worked in its own way, but the cost -- the cost Archie? It wasn't goddamn worth it. It was never going to be worth it. I thought they were too powerful to cause nothing but harm but -- but even I underestimated the damage.

And the Relics certainly weren't supposed to fucking turn up in worlds that don't appear to be next on the menu.
