I mean, here, I honestly don't think about death the same, because it's not.

If I can wake up the next day, or three days later, it's not death. Just pain.

But back home?



I have to be. I know the risks of what I do. The stakes outweigh them a hundred to one.

But the thing that makes me valuable is also the thing that incurs the risk. Would be a pretty terrible pilot if I didn't accept the fact that we have short life expectancies.
