It's a lot more complicated than that. I turned him into a Devilman so he could survive the purge of humanity from Earth. If he wasn't there, me and my Demons could have easily done it without damaging Earth.

It was the battle between me and him that destroyed everything, even though I could have easily killed him if I wanted.
