A haiku.

The form requires no rhyme. The challenge lies in the construction of meaning when limited to a fixed number of syllables.

[ there is polka music playing. whatever was playing before, it's gone now. nothing but sweet, sweet polka to serenade him . . .

and of course, Iris holding out a hand, though she can't quite help the frown on her face. ]

Normally, I'd ask for a dance, but - [ pause ] I got nothing. I don't even know if this is polka.

And I've got no idea what Polka even is, but dancing? That I can do.
