[ Now, normally, Ruka wouldn't take the elevator in the first place — either they get jammed, or they catch on fire, or she's a sentimental loser, whatever — but the stairs were blocked off after someone's attempted move-in resulted in an avalanche of couches blocking the whole stairwell, so. Elevator.

At the back of the car, while Haru fusses with the button panel with suspicion and rising uncertainty, Ruka exhales long enough and loud enough that maybe she can just force her soul out of her body and float away.
