01.The city of Heropa, Florida is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Heropa isn't right on the beach, but who cares? A local community center and pool complex is hosting a sand sculpture contest with loads of shipped-in sand, water and all the sculpting tools any beach artiste could want. Are you interested in winning a free season pass and a gift certificate for dinner for two at a top nearby restaurant? Then step right up and build your best beach castle!

Of course, with many imPorts nearby as inspiration, entries include sandy versions of many of them, new or old. Do you recognize your face, or that of a friend? Take a selfie with it, and maybe sign an autograph for the star-struck sculptor. Food and drink kiosks are scattered around for those who just want to tour the sculptures, making this a lovely day out for anyone who comes by.

...at least, at first. About halfway through the day, a would-be supervillain named The Shrinker bursts onto the scene out of nowhere, blasting people left and right with his powerful shrink ray. His aim isn't so great, so only about half the attendees are struck, but if you're one of them, those small-but-fancy sand castles now look like mighty fortresses. If you're not, then you better watch out—accidentally stomping on another imPort is a terrible way to make friends.

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, with large numbers of citizens waiting to be awed by your very presence. Look at you! Organic wonder! Those words have meaning here. Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. The imPort craze remains high here, and you may find yourself cornered by overzealous imPort fans, media wannabes and opportunists alike, shoving cameras in your face. If you let yourself get cornered, beware! Anything from personal questions about romantic chances to bedroom habits to dietary queries might be come up!

On this crisp Spring day, crowds are out in droves as researchers, inventors and musicians are out showing off what's new and great in music technology innovation. Out on the tables displaying their wares, imPorts and natives alike are welcome to test out what's in store for what they swear up and down is the future of America's music industry. From warbling guitars plugged into synths meant to recreate the approximate sound of every other instrument they can think of (who needs an electric piano when you can do it on a guitar?) to rows of theremins to bagpipe-accordion amalgamations to electric dulcimers, it seems as though some of these won't necessarily be catching on anytime soon.

Up on the provided stage, any intrepid musicians are welcome to go up and take these instruments (and perfectly ordinary instruments) for a whirl, though do take care to keep an eye out for any side effects - the people developing this are natural showmen who really want to create the next big thing, whether that's through extravagant light shows, guitars that spit sparks out of their necks, horns that shoot bubbles and flowers and so much more.

Once evening falls and everyone's had their fill of the various musical themed food items for sale (boy, this world really loves their puns, don't they?), the tables and food trucks are cleared and mats are put out for a swing dancing competition! A blessedly professional band begins to play, a far cry from the chaos of unpracticed musicians trying their hand at experimental instruments this afternoon, and dancers trot onto the dance floor to strut their stuff. Why not go out there and show them what you can do?

And hey - enough of this swing dancing stuff, right? Why not see if you can scandalize a soul or two?

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania has had its ups and downs since imPorts started reappearing. Several imPort heroes have put focused efforts into cleaning up the streets of this somewhat infamous city, while others have swooped in to help the criminal industry thrive. More so here than the streets of any other imPort city, the battle between good and evil looks more like a war of escalation than a heroic tale. That might make the less than warm welcome imPorts are given in the city a little more understandable. The emergence of locals with superpowers is hardly helping. While some of these individuals have turned to crime, many locals seem more inclined to defend their native powered drug dealer than help the non-native hero bring them to justice. Who are you to tell them how to live?

It's not quite spring yet, but already flowers are popping up—in the form of seven-foot sentient musclebound daisies! A local criminal known as Flower Power has set them on the city, and they're going on a rampage, but a number of citizens have taken advantage. Do you go after the bushwhacking blossoms or the local looters?

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's always some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement.

Baseball season is now open! And what's more American than America's favorite pastime? For new imPorts and registered imPorts, you can get in to watch the game for free! (If you aren't registered, sorry bucko, no freebies for you.) Take a seat, order some peanuts or a hot dog, and enjoy the game! Or, ask the citizen next to you what the heck is going on, if you have no idea what baseball is.

Midway through the game, the umpire might take note of you new imPorts -- assuming you're standing out in the crowd. He'll welcome you to throw a pitch if you'd like! Of course, the opposing team isn't too keen on the idea.

05. Jeopardy, Nevada by all rights shouldn't exist. A glowing neon city smack in the middle of the desert, the only reason it's still here is that the central nuclear power plant has tapped half a mile down into a subterranean lake for its water supply. So though the desert around it may be barren, the occupants of this small city are happily self sufficient. Those weird figures you see out of the corner of your eyes? Don't worry too much. Probably just weird radiation after effects. Jeopardy has a lot of those.

Today, the annual Jeopardy Pet Show has locals in fine spirits. Whether they own a cat, dog, lizard or ant farm, resident pet owners are encouraged to groom their pet pals to look their best and show how great they are in a blocked-off section of main street. The event kicks off at 11 a.m. with the pet parade, which is followed by a pet fashion show (how did the ant farm owners manage to sew such tiny outfits?) and a talent contest. Attending imPorts are encouraged to evaluate each pet and share their thoughts as guest celebrity judges.

One contestant of note is Paul the African Grey parrot, owned by an engineer at the power plant. Not only is Paul a chatty fellow, he's liable to provide unsolicited advice and criticism to any person who happens to pass by his table at the show. On the plus side? He's right about his fashion advice--Paul has impeccable taste.

1. Heropa

Emma has never built a sand castle in her life. She's never even seen a beach. So she's having a grand old time at the community center, making the world's sloppiest sand castle - it looks like it's in danger of falling over at any minute, like it'd collapse if you so much as stuck a flag on any of its towers. Hey, building sand castles is hard for a first-timer!

Emma, though, seems immensely proud of it. She turns excitably to the nearest person to her and says "What do you think?"

2. De Chima

Emma has had practice playing instruments. It was one of the things given to her at Grace Field House, her former home (slash boarding school slash orphanage slash death trap), and she remembers playing them well. It's something she misses.

So, without question or hesitation, she takes a violin when one of the inventors offers it to her and starts to play Schubert’s “Der Erlkonig." She's doing very well at it, although the violin is playing unusual sounds - it sounds more like an electric guitar than a traditional violin, so it sounds a lot more... intense.

But that's nothing compared to when the violin catches fire, or at least appears to. Emma doesn't even notice - she just keeps playing.

4. Nonah

Emma has only ever heard of baseball - books mentioned it a lot, and her quizzes sometimes had baseball-themed questions about the physics behind pitching or hitting. She's never actually seen a baseball game, though, and she's thrilled by the whole thing (but maybe, especially, the hot dogs).

Even though the batter seems not to be hitting the ball as well as he could. He's got one strike, and he's already gotten a runner out because an outfielder easily caught the ball he did hit. If only he could hit a home run!

"He's not playing efficiently," Emma says cheerfully to the person next to her. "It's about more than just hitting the ball really hard - it's about hitting it in the right spot. He needs to adjust the position of his swing by about one inch. Don't you think so?"

There's always a lot going on in De Chima. Not all of it means anything, or has any use, but it's worth looking into, in Norman's estimation. (And sometimes, he'll admit, it's just fun.) So he's enjoying wandering the displays, examining the technology on offer. He supposes that making a guitar play piano-like sounds makes for something more portable, which might be useful for some musicians.

It's the color that catches his attention - bright orange hair, followed by a burst of bright orange fire. He ignores the fire, which has to be a holographic effect or something similar, and focuses on the hair. He'd more or less given up on anyone else getting here unless he can work out a way to bring them, but that's definitely -

02: De Chima

Organic wonder indeed. It's not often that one sees a giant purple man walking the streets of the Earth. This easily drew the attention of many people in the Virginian town. A flock of Import fans and media alike surrounding the 8 foot tall plus spectacle.

There was a grimace of annoyance on Thanos' face as he was surrounded by the chattering humans who did not seem to know the concept of personal space. Fortunately, he was more than tall enough to not have the cameras directly in his face. Still he had to squint at the bright lights. As patient as the Titan could be, it was wearing thin. A massive hand moving to push some of them away gently while growling a threat.

"Move aside insects, or be trampled."

He wasn't kidding either as he was in no mood to indulge these people in their questions. Walking forward, he began to plow through the crowd. Many a foot getting stepped on by those who did not heed his warning, if they were not knocked over completely. Howls of pain coming from those unfortunate enough to have the weight of a half ton alien stepping on them.

Once his point was made, the crowd finally parted, allowing him to pass freely.

03: Nonah

It's not hard for Thanos to stick out in the crowd here. The Titan had happened along this little game, and he decided to take a moment to observe the humans in their recreation. It was amusing at the very least.

When the umpire called him over, he tilted a brow, but decided to humor these people. The massive alien walking over to the pitcher's mound and taking the small white ball in his massive hand. Looking down at it, he then lifted his gaze to the batter who looked less than pleased about this. Curling his fingers around the ball, Thanos pulled his arm back and then threw the ball.

The batter swung, missed, and the catcher... threw himself out of the way. The force of the ball being so great that he crashed through the wall behind him. Both players looking at the hole that was left behind with wide eyes.

"Hm. It seems I don't know my own strength."

This said calmly as Thanos then left the mound, a little grin on his face as he felt the stares of the team on his back.

Finn just happens to be in the area, planning on doing a little shopping for books and clothes and whatnot. Maybe find something nice for Lucien or Jonathan. And somehow, today he's not the one drawing attention. That would be the very large, purple man that the Dunmer spots upon turning the corner. Finn seriously needs to do a double take upon seeing him at first.

Then he frowns upon seeing the purple giant treat the locals like pests and even hurt some of them. And because Finn has a tendency to stick his nose into everything, he waits until the purple man is close enough before addressing him.

"Someone has a high opinion of himself."

Finn's fought dragons, he's not afraid of this bozo.

Oh, hm. Welp.

"Trampled? What, no dusting?" The level of 'do not want' in her voice is clear as she looks at him with sharp eyes. She's seen some shit in her three years here, but the sight of him is ... some shit on a whole new level.

Rogue had specifically come out for the game, feeling a sense of nostalgia for something so quintessentially American that had been lost during the war. She tried not to face the other associations she had with the game while she stood off to the side, watching more of the crowd than the actual players, but every so often she'd start to sink into memories not always her own...

Until the umpire began addressing the imPorts in the crowd. She gave a very firm no signal as soon as the man even glanced in her direction, though it seemed he had on something bigger. Someone, rather — someone who was up to no good if her instincts were right.

Which of course they were. She's met guys like him before. Arrogant show-offs who thought they were the be all end all and deserved to have the world kiss the ground they walked on. Most hadn't been quite so tall as him, but a few had been purple.

Letting out a deep sigh, she wandered over to the edge of the field so she could address the purple giant who towered over her. With hands on her hips and striped hair moving in the springtime breeze, her smooth southern drawl was pronounced as she asked in a slightly irritated tone, "You're a bit of a showoff, aren't ya, sugar?"

Carol's never been a fan of the men who liked to push others around because they were oh so big and strong. She's stronger than pretty much anyone now, but she likes to think her response would have been the same back before she had superpowers. It's the same woman she's always been that steps in front of him, all guts and swagger, and meets his eyes.

02: De Chima

Bayek navigates the press of interested civilians with an amused sort of graceful familiarity. The technology and the weather may be utterly strange, but curiosity about him is far from new. He's especially patient with children, often crouching to the littlest ones level to answer what he can.

Eventually he extracts himself from the questions in time to actually experience the festival foods and music.

"I have no idea what most of this is." He admits aloud, offering a slightly baffled smile to the nearest person when confronted by the choices of food. "Any suggestions?"

05: Jeopardy

Bayek is downright pleased to help judge the various animals and their outfits, even if he does seem to have a bias for the cats. He's Egyptian and old friends with one of Sekhmet's priests.

Senu, insistent on not being left out of being given attention as well, spends a fair bit if her time perched on his arm whenever possible. It's not everyone who has a pet eagle quite this game seeming.

"Want to meet her?" Bayek asks, scritching his companions chest when he notices the attention the two of them are getting. "I cannot promise much, Semi is her own bird."

Emma is downright delighted to see a bird, much less one so well-trained, much less one so huge and so beautiful. She's never seen anything like this in her entire life, outside of books, and she gravitates towards her instantly, eyes wide with excitement.

"Wow! A real life eagle! That's amazing!" she exclaims before she grins up at Bayek. "Are you two friends?"

Being a purple flying alien dragon from a warrior culture, and very smart, Lockheed was very good at what he did, and part of what he did was pose. He had come to the artificial sand and the nearby beach to enjoy the sun, and some fun, but he had quickly agreed to pose for sand sculptures, both in and out of dragonform. At least one of each was entirely not safe for the eyes of children. But then, Lockheed was not really a safe for work kind of alien dragon.

Another thing he was good at was beating up bad guys. In a way, anyway. Today, some idiot had come in and tried to ruin Lockheed's fun. So Lockheed had flown up to him, inhaled, and then exhaled, and had burned the man's costume, gun, and eyebrows completely to ash. Then he had calmly flown back to pose again.

Afterward, he could be found resting on a beach chair, either in human or dragonform, taking in the sun.

De Chima, Virginia

Lockheed liked to party. He liked to have fun. Adventuring and beating bad guys was nice sometimes, but he also just enjoyed the fun without work. And De Chima really knew how to throw a party.

Evening found Lockheed there and switching between human and dragonform to drink and dance with any friendly people who would buy him a drink, or dance with him, especially pretty women. He loved human alcohol, and dance reminded him of the Flock, before things had gone bad, back home. He danced with a fervor and style that was half-warrior, half-being looking for fun, and anyone dancing with him would get a workout as he moved with them.

And hey, if they wanted scandalous slow dancing of a kind that would make peoples eyes bug out, well, he could do that too.

Lockheed was at the local game, sitting in a box seat for free,and drinking a beer while considering a fifth hot dog. He liked Earth food, and at least here he was in a box where he was not surrounded by a lot of people. Other imports? That was different, and he would not mind talking to them.

And he might even throw a ball, though the players laughed when he flew down to do so. They were not laughing when his muscles bunched and hurled the ball forward with a warrior's skill and aim, and sliced it past the blinking batter hard enough to knock the catcher off balance. With a "Humph!", he bowed to the cheers of the crowd, and headed back to his seat.

Lockheed does not like this city. Being here reminds him too much of some of the weirder things he has seen in his time, and he is all too familiar with the weird. And not a fan of it. The strange figures and the strange noises, all of it makes him want to fly away. Or burn it all down.

Today's annual Jeopardy Pet Show is making him even be in a worse mood. people keep mistaking him for a pet, then getting offended when he curses them out in several languages or bites the offending hands that attempt to pet him against his will. People were just annoying.

He was keeping an eye on this festival for others like him who were not human-formed, and who might be also mistaken for pets. He knew what chains felt like and he had no intention of letting another feel them any longer than necessary. Also, there was nice whiskey. Which he was drinking.

[ Ezio casts a curious eye over the various items on display. Leonardo would, undoubtedly, be fascinated with all of this technology. But without his old friend nearby to enthusiastically explain everything, Ezio himself is a little lost.

Someone is trying to offer him an instrument to try, something he is totally unfamiliar with. He raises his hands, a faint smile crossing his face. ]

I would not do it justice, no doubt. I know only the lute, and that, only a little.

[ Holy outrageous Italian accent, Batman! ]

[ There is nothing like being welcomed to a local sporting event when you're new in town, that's for sure. He gets handed a hot dog, and, after watching how others are eating, he gives it a shot: not bad! However, this game seems to have him a little confused. ]

This is much less chaotic than the games of my homeland. It is said that a game of Calcio isn't complete until there is bloodshed.

[ Finn didn't know what baseball was. That was part of trying new things, though, right? Only no one had bothered explaining it and everything was a bit confusing. Food was all right, though.

Then the man next to spoke in a thick accent, and the words really caught his attention. ] Calcio? [ However it's pronounced, Finn just did it wrong. ]

I. de chima

[For a while, Shazam is happy to take all the attention from the fans and the paparazzi and so on. He takes a bunch of selfies, signs autographs, and even does a few tricks with his powers. But eventually, even he gets tired of all that.]

What's that? Oh no... an emergency! A very important and dangerous emergency in need of a superhero! Very far away from here. I can hear it happening with my... super hearing. And super vision. And other super senses. Anyways, you know the drill!

Shazam!

[There's a crash of lightning, and before the smoke clears, Billy joins the crowd and starts walking away. Someone with more keen senses might notice the grown man was replaced by a teenager, but it doesn't look as if any of the locals have caught on.]

II. jeopardy

[Considering how weird this place is, he almost expected to see a tiger and honestly? He's a little disappointed. He's judging the contest as Shazam, just so he can keep pretending Billy's a local. No clue when it'll come in handy, but it seems like the sort of thing Freddy would've advised him to do. Or actually, it's too responsible to be Freddy, more like something Mary would say. 

He's passing over the pets with some interest, lingering longer by rabbits and cats which almost look like tigers. That's when a voice pipes in from behind him,

"Hey Elvis, you get lost on the way to Vegas?"

Shazam quickly turns around, but the perpetrator seems to be nowhere in sight! Until he looks to the parrot, who squawks once more,

"Lose the cape!"]

You! Look, [and he lowers his voice here because is he seriously arguing with a parrot] some people don't get to choose their superhero costumes! Ever think of that? This thing has literally no zippers! So guess what? You're preaching to the choir, buddy!

[Emma is enjoying this immensely. She's never had a chance to see most of these animals in her entire life, so she's giving every animal she sees a fifteen out of ten without fail. She's a terrible judge.

As she's wandering around, fascinated by all the strange creatures she's only seen in books, she hears what sounds like a man quietly yelling at something. What she sees is a man in a very... flamboyant outfit. She's extremely curious as to what it is he's raising his voice at.

It turns out to be a parrot. She walks over, confused and angry.]

Hey! That parrot didn't do anything to you!

[Temple decides to go after the daises. He is terrible at fighting, being a sim trooper and all, but with the ice powers that arriving in this place gave him, he has an advantage against plant enemies.]

[He shoots thin streams of ice at the daises he encounters, his style going more for subtle than for big.]

[He misses a lot but against these daisies, missing doesn’t matter too much.]

[Well, at least, till there are too many daisies and he finds himself backed into a corner.]

The Frozen Prince, huh?

[Temple sighs, annoyed with Paul.]

Yeah, that’s my alias. What’s your problem with it?

Isn’t it a touch pretentious?

No, it’s pretty.

Are you a prince?

... uh, no. But does that matter?

After all, I wasn’t a superhero till I got here either. I should be allowed to reinvent myself, shouldn’t I? Or is it only the imPorter and the government that can do that?

[There is scorn in Temple’s tone when he says the word ‘government.’]

Besides, I’m not actually passing myself off as royalty. I’m just giving myself a cool themed name. And becoming a hero.

[He always wanted to be a hero of some sort, after all. And if he’s a hero here, he’ll never be in jail again - or, at least, that’s what he’s hoping for.]

[So he’s going to embrace it as much as he embraced his villain persona back where he came from.]

[Heroism is not Norm’s thing. Not at all. But being in this world, with his powers severely reduced, does mean he’s free, so he has accepted the label of Registered Hero.]

[And he enjoys the adulation that comes with it.]

[Music, however, is Norm’s thing. So he gets the band to start up a tune for him, using his hero status to his advantage (he hasn’t saved anyone yet but it doesn’t seem like the people here care much about that) to get it.]

[When his song is over, he smirks at the crowd.]

[Norm enjoys baseball so he decides to watch the game. He supposes he could play in it but he doesn’t have much practice and he doesn’t want to ruin his good imPort reputation by showing everyone that he is a failure at baseball.]

[He doesn’t want to be a hero so he has to maintain his rep in other ways.]

[So, here’s a genie, teal blue tail and all, just casually watching baseball.]

You know, someone who takes the form of a parrot has no room to diss my aesthetic.

[Norm, of course, assumes that the parrot is a fairy, genie or other magical creature transformed into a parrot. Sure, his abilities were super nerfed buuut... for all he knows, the abilities of other magical creatures from his Earth weren’t.]

[You know who would probably enjoy this? Sean's little brother.

[So it's with a pang in his heart that Sean declines to participate, instead sitting back with his sketchbook and drawing the scene - rough shapes at first, then gradually filling in more details. He's so focused that he doesn't quite contextualize what he's drawing, nor really notice anyone around him.

[It's on another pass for details that he looks up at one of the sculptures properly.]

[As it so happens, Sean has a guitar pick in his pocket. He'd had the idle thought of maybe getting into guitar one day when he picked it up, so even though that thought hadn't been "in an alternate dimension", he decides to give it a whirl.

[It's a good thing he didn't go up onstage with the fancier instruments, because his vague attempts at nonsense chords are not what one would call musical. Even Sean cringes, the pick stuttering on the strings.]

Uh - sorry... Got anything that plays for you?

[Sean has an amused word for every animal, but he has to stop for a short haired brown and white puppy that looks very much like the puppy he and his brother lost to a cougar. He kneels down next to it, and after getting permission from the owner to pat it and positive responses from the dog, he gives the puppy a hug.]

[And, yeah, his voice might be shaking a little.

And over here, right in downtown, there's a figure in a hoodie making her way down the sidewalk, slightly hunched in on herself. Everything about her body language says they want to be left alone, but there are still a number of locals dogging her heels none-the-less.

"Are you sure we've never met?" one asks, "You look awfully familiar."

He puts a hand on her shoulder, trying to turn her around. She does stop walking then, but doesn't turn. Over her shoulder she says something to them. It's impossible to make out the words, but whatever it was, it makes the locals stop. The hand drops from her shoulder limply, and the men all stand, apparently dumbfounded as she shoves past one to continue on her way. As soon as she rounds a corner, the men seem to blink back to awareness, and are loudly confused by her sudden disappearance.

So she slowly meanders she show floor, arms crossed, and lips pressed together tightly. She looks uncomfortable in that way people look when they're in a place they don't particularly enjoy, but they have nowhere else to be.

And in fact, she doesn't think it is. Her gait is too different, and Persephone wouldn't be that invisible, would she? But she follows as Persephone walks away, coming down to the ground. "Hey-"

And when Laura hides and stops, Cassandra's even more unsure. It looks like it could be her, but the hood's covering her face, and...

[ well, it's disheartening to see that not much has changed in his absence, as he towers stoically nonplussed in the middle of the quickly emptying streets as a gang of giant sentient daisies surround him like they're looking to steal his lunch money or something. their threatening approach does little to elicit any reaction from him. ]

[ ...and then he takes a five cent matchbook out of his belt and tosses the lit wick at the feet of one. as it bursts into flames, roaring and running down the street, he eyes the others, wiggling the matchbook gently. ]

[ batman isn't much of a line dancer, and unfortunately his one and only musical debut happened quite some time ago here. he thinks it's likely that very few people are left who would even remember it, and so he's hung up his guitar for good. instead, he takes this time to stop into the hall of justice to see how the league has been doing with all of its founding members gone. it's not hard to get through the doors-- he did build the place, after all. even if his entry was revoked when he left, it's likely he still had some ultra secret backdoor installed that only he would know about. maybe someone will actually notice it when he casually strolls in. ]

There’s only so long Allison can stay cooped up anywhere, before restless really has to become action. She isn’t expecting the flood of crowds she follows to lead to some sort of — Festival? Celebration? Carnival? Exhibition? — demonstration of all sorts of instruments, musicians, and musical gadgetry. 

It’s interesting enough, and Allison likes music as much as the next person.

But what it really makes her think of, the longer she walks through the shuffling crowds, is her sister Vanya, and how much she’d probably have more of an understanding of it all, and she finds herself looking for anything that has to do with violins, and violinists trying themselves out upon the free-play stage, and things related to them, even without quite realizing she is.

His strokes are fast and quick, and his hands move almost faster than the eye can see, as he plays, using the violin to cover, of all things, Billy Joel's "Heart of Rock and Roll". He dances as he plays, his feet a touch off the ground, and his grin is wide as he watches the crowd.

Not one for the stage, he plays there in the crowds, letting himself wander among other people who love music.

Spotting the woman wandering, he nods to her as he plays, eyes dancing with joy.

"Seriously? I just want a cup of coffee." Toby shoves her hands into her pockets, trying to push past the throng of reporters and fans. Her human disguise is on, dulling the tips of her ears into round, human-looking things and softening the angles of her face, but they still know she's an ImPort, even if they don't realize she's Fae.

"No comment. No comment. No--look, if you really want a comment my foot can give your ass a comment." Not her knife, which she's pretty sure shows great restraint on her part.

She has spells she can cast, but none of them will work well while she's stuck in the throng of people. She looks around desperately, trying to find an escape. She is too under-caffeinated for this.

Maurtia Falls

Giant sentient muscular daisies. Toby had thought she'd seen it all, but now she's reconsidering. She shakes her head. "And I was having such a good day, too."

There are too many for her to fight all of them, that much is immediately clear. Same with the looters. These are all problems, but they're symptoms of something a lot bigger. She groans and draws the silver knife sheathed at her back, taking a run at the closest. When she gets close enough, she grabs it, stabbing her knife into the flower's... arm. She hates this.

Magic is about intent. She doesn't know if sap is supposed to count as blood, but she doesn't have any better ideas. She clamps her mouth down against the wound she's made, and takes a lick.

The smell of bloody copper and cut grass is almost indistinguishable amidst the strong smell of daisies.

Superboy is flying above when he sees her and her issue, and he sighs. Those damn reporters. He may have schmoozed some himself earlier, but they need to let those who do not want to do it alone. But they never learn, and they don't let go, easy.

He lands outside the crowd, kneels to touch the ground, and concentrates. Energy flows and his telekinesis gently parts the crowd, all the way to the woman, and then slides around her, shielding her on the other side.

"Miss? There's a coffee shop over here. And they don't let in reporters."

He waves at the woman, hoping she will accept his help and come through quickly.

Carol's not in costume at the moment. As much fun as it is to flaunt her stuff, getting crowded by reporters and fans is annoying and she doesn't want to have to observe from forty feet above everyone's head. So she's just wandering around in a t-shirt and jacket, sipping a milkshake, until she comes across... herself.

Well, herself in sand form. It's pretty well done. Carol eyes it for a moment, glances around, and then with a quick and very focused photon blast, flash fries it into glass. Then she saunters away, smirking as she hears the artist exclaiming over her now permanent installation.

Maurtia Falls

Obligatory punching prompt. There are bad guys. Carol is... absolutely way overpowered for this kind of fight. But she's having fun, snagging flower beings from the ground and hurling them into the stratosphere. They probably won't actually hit the sun. Or any airplanes. Probably.

Jeopardy

Carol's been peer pressured into bringing Goose to the pet parade, which... well, it was a terrible idea. She said from the start it was a terrible idea. And now people are screaming and the judges are shouting and Goose is calmly licking her paw after having swallowed down the trophy.

"It'll come out of her again. Eventually."

The judges do not seem impressed. Goose, on the other hand, yawns and stretches, then leaps off the table to go sniff at someone's pet raccoon.

She won't eat him. Probably.

Superboy is also very overpowered for this sort of thing, but sometimes he just can't help himself, and the sight of flower-being soaring up into the sky draws him. He grins as she sees the woman hurling the villains away and then shrugs and joins in, lofting a few as well, sometimes by fists, and sometimes by telekinesis.

Soon, there are a... well, a whole lot of flower beings making orbit.

When the floral crisis is done, Superboy lofts into the sky again and grins at his fellow, he is assuming, superhero. "Nice moves there! I'm pretty sure I saw one pass the moon!"

01.The city of Heropa, Florida

Conner was really getting tired of supervillains in this world ruining days off. He had just posed with some kids who had made a sand sculpture of him and some of his other Superfriends, and been congratulating them, when he spotted the running people and heard the screams. After making sure the kids got away, he flew forward at high speed.

"The Shrinker? Seriously? That's what you came up with?" Conner shed his jacket as he shot forward, revealing his supersuit underneath. Dodging blasts, he swore to himself. "Why me?"

Seeing some kids menaced when the shrink ray caused a support beam on a sign to give out, he swept in and scooped them up, dropping them safely out of the way, only to turn and get zapped.

"What? hey!" With a cry, he stared at his tiny self, then narrowed his eyes at the bad guy.

"That is it! You come here, you ruin everyone's fun, with a terrible name, and then you shrink me? That. Is. it!" And Conner shot forward, glowering, at high speed and backhanded the man across the face.

Even with it being a gentle slap, the power of the hit knocked the man unconscious immediately, and sent him flying off into the side of an artificial sand dune, where he slipped downward, out cold. Conner glowered as he caught the shrink ray and gently lowered it, then hmmed as he looked at it.

"Now, how does one reverse this thing...?"

02. De Chima, Virginia

Conner was not used to being liked, but being confronted by a crowd of people who loved him was a nice change. And he felt himself grin as he tapped into the memories of one of the other Superboys, letting that one's ease with people and flirtatious nature take over. He smirked a little, smiled a lot, and flirted a little as he wondered what exactly drove people to act like this. But he was here, so he might as well try to get through it.

When they parted, he finally made it to his goal, a new presentation of high tech music playing. He did not understand, sometimes, other people, but music? That he understood. And he liked it, a lot.

Lifting an electrical device that purported to play anything, he tested it, slowly getting the hang of it, and then, taking a moment to center himself, he started playing Flight of the Valkyries, by Wagner, the implanted training given him by N.O.W.H.E.R.E. letting him play it with skill. Soon, he had a crowd, as he played and let himself sink into the music.

As he played, the guitar like instrument brought out colors and lights that played across him and his audience, like a slow rave, coating them all in psychedelic rainbow light that lasted until just after he was done.

When he finished, and people applauded, he stared, coming out of the music fugue and realizing how people had heard and seen him. He blushed, and smiled, waving to them. As he did so, the real bands started playing, and playing slow and fast songs in turn.

He listened for a bit, then he grabbed a drink, and offered a hand to the closest person and grinned.

The music was weird to Carter's ears, and sounded more like machines roaring than it did the records he'd played back home, but the visuals more than make up for it. Besides, he likes loud noises.

He watches Conner with glee as he plays, the lights casting his own face into deep, colored shadows. As the song ends he applauds wildly, hands still a little sticky from an earlier cinnamon bun. To his great fortune, he's got them cleaned up by the time Connor offers him a dance.]

Uh. With me? [He looks around for some hidden woman that the musical man might actually be talking to.]

Vision was not fond of sand, but he nonetheless found himself at the Heropa sand sculpture contest watching the children and adults sculpt him and others with a certain verve. He was amused, some, by this, but he had seen how some almost worshipped the heroes after New York, and he knew how that ended. Still, he was willing to humor them, mostly.

When the so-called Shrinker burst onto the scene, blasting people left and right with his powerful shrink ray, he was immediately reminded of Ant-Man, but unfavorably. Recording the scene, he found it was quick work to knock the man out and avoid his shrink beams, just sending him sprawling. A little rope work later and the man was trussed up next to a video of his assault on the area. Vision did not wait for the police, but instead, he headed onward.

02. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania

Giant sentient musclebound daisies were not the oddest things Vision had ever seen, but they were definitely up there. He waded in, flying to face them with his beam, and sending them scurrying for cover, then descending to rescue civilians who were caught up by them. he was careful to not harm the people, and he was even cautious with the flower... beings? And he was not sure what sort of facility would work on them, but he bent some steel around them as he went. then he flew off in search of more.

As he went, he also encountered looters, and he descended once more to face them. "That is hardly a good idea. Put the items down, and leave."

When one took a shot at him with some sort of weapon, he let it pass through him, then charged in, using his slightly more dense mode to toss them, gently, aside, and disarm them, firing a beam at another's gun, making it too hot to hold, and kicking yet another into the wall, carefully. Why did people do this?

He had died. He had died, twice. It still shook him to his core that he was here, now, able to walk and talk and observe the world, and somehow... alive. He had double checked himself, in every way he could, and yet, he was here. Every part of him read as normal.

Well, he could feel those nanites within him, altering him, controlling him. His very being was infected with them, and they seemed.,.. for now, to be doing nothing harmful. To the contrary, they were making his powers work, which they had not when he arrived. He had been oddly solid and unable to move swiftly until they were injected into him. They had even created a facsimile of the Infinity Gem upon his brow, enabling him to perform even his higher-order functions.

He had been shuffled out, and had everything explained to him. He had then plugged into the internet, and the network, and sat for three solid days, absorbing the new information that there was to gain. Some of it disturbed him, some seemed much like the former world he had come from. And some... he was unsure what to think of it.

So now, driven by a strange urge to walk and be among people, he had gone out, and he was now at a coffee shop, drinking coffee, eating a donut, and fielding autographs when requested, which still seemed... odd to him. How was this supposed to work? Approach a puzzled Synthezoid?

[ So after his bout with the Shrinker, Starscream is decidedly displeased about the fact that instead of being 25 feet tall he's now only 12 feet tall. He was admiring the craftsmanship of a sand sculpture of himself when he was struck, so that's the reason he was even there. Do you really think he's care about it otherwise? No! And now that the sculpture has been trampled over, a crime in and of itself, the true crime now seems to be his size and he must vent because he's been scouring the city for the culprit for a good hour now. ]

Just where in the All Spark is that despicable human. I demand to be returned to my original size immediately. [ He'll stomp a foot into the ground, breaking whatever cement or asphalt happens to be underneath him. He's so not amused right now, if his temper tantrum was any indication. ]

Maurtia Falls; Pennsylvania

[ If they're expecting Starscream to lift a finger to help out, well, that's not going to happen. Even with looters he doesn't exactly stop them. Sure he could totally stop them with an easy stomp of his foot, given his size, but that'd ruin his fun. So have a 25 foot tall Decepticon just laughing as he watches. ] Humans are sometimes quite amusing, when left to their own devices.

[ There's a young man wearing dark clothing - he looks like he might be in his teens, but something about the way he walks, the way he looks at things is very odd, and not just because his eyes are pitch black, with no whites to be seen.

The Outsider walks among the instruments, picking up and examining them with a bored curiosity. He spends a bit more time with the ones that are distinctly technological, as his own world had gone on a different kind of track. These are new to him, which makes them worth his time to look, even if they're not what really interests him. ]

They're so proud of their own ingenuity, for creations that are glorified trinkets. I wonder if the people who made these will think they were worth it, when the years catch up to their fingers and their backs?

[ Cats, dogs, rabbits -- so many types of animals to see, and yet here the Outsider is, at a row of rat cages, with the rats wearing tiny little rat outfits that make them look like they're auditioning for a live action version of Redwall or the Great Mouse Detective, not that the Outsider would know what those were. No, he's here, head tilted as if listening to them. He is. ]

Under the floorboards? They'll smell it too, soon.

[So this was a normal dream, in which things that weren't normal were going on, namely that the moonbase had an elevator into Cephiro and Fuu had to help Magnus Burnsides adopt out Ascot's creatures, because the Negotiator's evil plan was to subject the moon to flood damage and use the insurance payout.

All of this had seemed logically connected up to just now, when the scene changes to utter black. At first, this makes sense too, because she's in space, right? But there's something in it that is not... right. For space. It's not really supposed to look--oh, here's someone new.]

Ah, good evening, sir... what brings you to--[she looks around, and presses on despite the fact that this isn't there anymore]--the moon?

1. Heropa

Andrew is living the goddamn dream. After dreary winters in Germany and prisoner rations, getting sun on his face and all the sugar he can stuff in his face is paradise. He's still getting the hang of this new phone-microfilm-camera-combo rectangle thing and half the photos are of his fingertips, but he's quickly filling up space with all the amazing sights.

When the Shrinker starts shrinking things, Carter doesn't even realize it's an attack. He laughs, clapping his hands as people are transformed and go sliding down the now-huge sand mountains. "Me! Me next!" he calls out, waving one hand. This ride looks like fun.

2. De Chima

The music is...weird. Definitely not the Andrews Sisters. Carter can't exactly he say he dislikes it but it's weird. The visuals, though, those are spectacular. He's stuck staring in awe at the guy making sparks spit out the neck of his guitar, and tries to hound him with questions as soon as the act is over. Sadly, the man escapes him and Carter retreats back to sitting by the wall, munching funnel cake while the dancers go about their dancing.

4. Nonah
Baseball! At least some things haven't changed. Carter half-expected to see players with jet packs and turbo bats playing in zero gravity, or something weird like that. He settles into his seat, happy to explain the intricacies of the American Pasttime to anyone less familiar with the game, and munches contentedly on his popcorn.

When he's asked to throw out a pitch he's internally giddy, though he feigns modesty. He's not played since Bullfrog, aside from one or two games at Stalag 13 that were really just covers for spying operations, so this feels like a real honor. Unfortunately between the stands and the mound Carter starts to get...ideas.

A rocket is basically just an explosion making things go faster, right? Same with a gun bullet. So if he puts a tiny explosion behind the ball it'll go faster and further, and probably look really impressive to boot. Carter makes a show of winding up as people watch. He focuses his strange new power into the palm of his hands and envisions it being real, real small. A tiny firecracker between his fingers. Hang on, wind up, release--

The baseball explodes into a fireball the moment it leaves his hand. Carter's left standing aghast as the smoke and baseball particulates waft around him, the scent of gunpowder floating in the air.

"Heh. Oops."

Megatron | Transformers: IDW

1. Heropa

If anyone was going to stick out in a crowd of people, it's Megatron. Standing over thirty feet tall, the tank looks down right menacing. Specially toting what looks like a fusion canon on one arm. He's not in the best of moods at the moment. Waking up in a land over run with Organics? Not exactly high on his lists of things he enjoys. Still, for all it looks like he could take out a whole crowd. So far he's not even squished one. Might be help that a lot of them get out of his way as he comes.

However, one native has decided to take up the challenge of making as sand statue of the tank. At least until they notice Megatron staring down at their creation. It's really hard to tell what Megatron thinks about it, what with the seemingly permanent scowl on his face. But at least he's not flattened it yet?

4. Nonah

At some point, Megatron finds himself in the crowds around this organic sport. However, instead of a thirty foot tall robot, he's in his human form of a scarred old man. Given he looks very villianeqse, he definitely sticks out in the crowd.

The game, however, is only going to hold his attention for so long. Much to his chargrin, it's just as he's starting to leave, the umpire decides to call him out. He scowls at the man, before deciding to humor them. He takes the ball, and turns to eye the batter, who's smirking. Thinking an older man can't be that great at throwing a ball. This'll be easy.

Megatron looks from the smirking batter, to the ball in his hand. Oh if only the young man knew. To the crowd's surprise, Megatron's shape suddenly changes, from old man, to a twelve foot sized version of his robot form. Not so easy now is it? Barely giving the batter a chance to recover from the shock, he winds up and launches the ball at high speed, causing the batter and catcher to jump out of the way.

Megatron smirks to himself as he turns back to the old man form, and walks off the field as the players stare after him.

Riptide, bold as ever (or just kinda bad at picking the right actions to take at a given time) feels Some Kinda Way about Megatron being here. He casually clomps over to the tank, slinging an arm around his shoulders.

"Is that who I think it is?" he asks, like they're the best of friends. Look, he's still accepting the whole Megatron situation but he's not about to take part in another mutiny. He's pretty okay with him! Missed him, even! "What's up, Megs? I missed you!"

See? Misses him. Feels weird about it.
