now don't be rude

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!

Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!

And remember to have fun!

    01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

    02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

    03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

    04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

Samandriel | Supernatural

2;

[It's quite the adjustment, to say the least. Actually, no, that's an understatement. Being here, outside in this sunny city with crowded streets and people waving and gawking at him is a drastic change to where he'd been before. Dark old warehouse, tortured, then killed. By two separate parties.

Yeah. This is going to take some time for him to adjust.

Samandriel stands on a sidewalk, somewhere in the city, with his back pressed to the wall of whatever building is behind him. His eyes follow the occasional passerby, and are occasionally caught by people who try to attract his attention or speak to him. But at the same time, he almost doesn't seem to notice them. Or rather, be fully aware of them. He's in shock, and being thrust into a bustling street doesn't exactly do much to help.

And unfortunately, with his bright white and red striped Weiner Hut uniform with the nametag that reads "Alfie", he kind of sticks out like a sore thumb. It makes disappearing into the background just a bit challenging, but it's more or less what he tries to do while doing everything he can to also remain calm.]

[It's definitely the Wiener Hut uniform that gives Samandriel away more than anything. The stripes make the kid stand out like a zebra at a polka dot party; even Andy Warhol would take offense. The archangel pauses midstep as he peers at the skinny kid leaning against the wall, wondering if it really is what he thinks it is.

Whatever is going on there, Gabriel is pretty sure this one is about to bolt. It's the way the body language is talking, the way Samandriel isn't actually paying attention to the large crowd milling around. It would be all too easy to let the other sense his archangel presence and all, wet the kid off running, but then Gabriel at least wants to make one joke before Samandriel makes a run for it. So for now he'll just casually approach, eyes curious as he gives a grin.]

I'll have Corn Dog on a Stick, a Bacon Cheddar Dog, Onion Rings, Slaw, and a a portion of funnel cake. Actually make that two portions. [Looks around and then whispers.] Actually make it three, though don't tell anyone or they'll stage an intervention. Again.

[About to bolt is pretty much it. Not that he knows where to even bolt around here. He's lost and confused and could really use someone to tell him what to do or something. But then, if he had someone to tell him what to do, that would mean...he'd be in trouble. With all of Heaven's secrets he betrayed, anyone who could tell him what to do would probably do something worse to him than Crowley ever did.

It doesn't register at first, the fact that he's been approached. It's not until Gabriel is standing right in front of him and talking at him that Samandriel lifts his head slightly, blinking. This time, his eyes fixate and actually pay attention, but for the life of him, he's only left more confused by what's being said. What on earth is it supposed to mean????

Of course, it clicks belatedly and he realizes this guy is trying to order food from him. Because of his vessel's uniform. But...don't human food vendors generally have a cart of food with them? This guy might be even more confused than Samandriel himself.]

I'm... I'm afraid I can't help you with any of that. [When he finally replies, it's a little feeble and just a bit distracted, but it's something at least, right?] I'm not-- ...I don't actually sell food.

Oh you can't? Well that's not what I'm seeing.... [Flicks at the name badge pinned to Samandriel's shirt.] ...Alfie.

[It's starting to make sense now in a strange way, if Gabriel is picking up on what he's seeing, then this one's uncomfortable in his skin as the next angel. Except Gabriel's never seen an angel as nervous and awkward as this one. What's the deal here?]

And what do you mean you don't sell food? That's a Wiener Hut uniform, so this is false advertising. Disappointing.

[Hopefully Samandriel is too busy focusing on the strange topic of food to think about what he's saying. Fingers crossed at any rate, Gabriel asking a question he heard in his direction once.] So which one are you?

[Samandriel has no idea what to say. No idea how to explain to this guy that he isn't a vendor, that he's not what he appears to be. Mostly because he's simply too in shock to actually think, and not even sure how he's here to begin with.

That makes explaining anything rather difficult.

However, as he's trying to put thought into words, or rather grab onto any thoughts in the first place, the final question hits him and throws him off again. It seems like a strange question at first, even stranger than the food order, until it sinks in just what it might mean.]

Which-- Which what?

[If he didn't looked panicked before, he does now. If this is a question of which angel he is, he's terrified because that probably means that this seeming stranger is an angel too. Which likely means he's going to be in all assortments of trouble.]

Are you all right?

[It's fairly obvious just looking at the young man that he is not completely fine, but Qui-Gon cannot exactly blame him. This new world can't be strange and disorienting to him only.

He smiles, encouragingly.]
My name is Qui-Gon Jinn. I take it you've only recently been brought here as well.

[The voice drags Samandriel's attention to the present moment. Or, at least some of his attention. He blinks, peering at Qui-Gon almost in a startled manner, like he can't believe someone has actually stopped to talk to him. Or perhaps that he's here. And alive.]

I-- Ah, yes. Yes, just today, I suppose. My name is Samandriel.

[He supposes he appreciates the encouraging smile, and that this man is kind enough to stop and check that a complete stranger is okay, though it's not something he's much accustomed to. Like, at all.]

And I... I am all right. Thank you for asking.

[Not really all right. Little bit in shock, little bit scared out of his wits and ready to fly off. Except with no idea where he can even fly to.]

[ He almost walks past, all too familiar trench coat almost like a uniform or cape in its own right. Samandriel, too, will soon realize that not changing the vessel's clothes, as angels tend to do, will make them very easy to recognize - or dress up as.

He almost walks past Samandriel, but then he stops. Turns his head slowly, and looks directly at the younger angel - except there's no recognition on Castiel's face. Not even about what Samandriel is. To him, Samandriel is just something that he can tell isn't human - but what exactly he is, he can't tell. ]

You're new... [ His eyes flick down to the name tag ] ... Alfie.
heavensmostadorable: (surprised)

[personal profile] heavensmostadorable 2014-07-27 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
[If he's already in shock, that's nothing compared to the way Samandriel feels the very instant his eyes lock onto Castiel, dragging him promptly to the present moment.

No. This can't be possible, it makes no sense-- Rather, less sense. Castiel had just... Just moments ago, or so it feels, stabbed him through the torso with an angel blade.

And yet here he is, still alive, now standing in front of his brother, who...doesn't recognize him. Doesn't even seem to register him as a sibling. Is this what happens when angels die? It almost feels like some sort of torture all over again.]

Castiel...

[The name is spoken quietly, practically on a whisper, and Samandriel's shock is incredibly clear in his face. Even marked with some fear.]

Castiel, you're... You-- ...Don't you recognize me?

[How can you so easily forget the sibling you rescued and killed?]
