TEST DRIVE MEME

Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!

Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!

01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

[Bygones...well, it's mostly the fact that he has a body now, so he doesn't have to take the one Jonathan still has. Not to mention that as long as the guy isn't a hindrance to his plans, there's no reason for them to fight! How wonderful.

He's still on board with killing Joseph at some point though, and any other meddling Joestars that may or may not show up...and world domination. Hopefully that isn't a dealbreaker.

I'm afraid Erina will have to wait, Jojo...because this world is an entirely different one from our own. She isn't here.

[Dio, that is kind of the ultimate deal breaker. But as long as you're not flaunting the need to kill his descendants or take over the world, Jonathan has no reason to take you out. Permanently.

But the though of a changed Dio makes Jonathan relieved. Now he doesn't have to hurt his adoptive brother... even though Dio has given him plenty of reasons for Jonathan to just sock him square in the face.]

What do you mean, Dio? [Sweet Erina... all alone... Dio don't wreck his honeymoon- oh wait, you do that in the future. Lil' shit.]

That's not a funny thing to joke about Dio.

I'm being honest with you. Not only is this a different world, but the year is 2014. Even if this was the world we shared once, Erina would have passed away from old age a long time ago.

For me, it's only twenty five years...but for you, we're more than one hundred years into the future, in an entirely different world.

[He is at a loss for words. Erina dead? 2014? If one hundred years have passed like Dio says, of course Erina would be dead! Jonathan would be dead too! No one lives past one hundred. But that also means Dio has been benefiting from his forsaken humanity. It's something he's afraid to ask Dio about but... he'll have to cross that hurdle eventually. For now, Erina is his number one concern.]

That may be true- but isn't it a bit bizarre that I am alive and in this world that is a hundred years ahead of my time? If I am here, there's hope for Erina too!

[He turns and starts walking. Not necessarily to get away from Dio but to begin his frantic search for his wife.]
