01.The city of Heropa, Florida is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation, while others might not say anything -- but if you have something nasty to say, better not say anything at all, right?

They are, however, in the middle of some awfully hot weather, so some good samaritans have gained the approval of the government to close off a few of the streets for some good old-fashioned fun. They've equipped everyone who steps in with water guns of varying quality, and there's also access to water balloons, a slip n' slide, and more! Why don't you grab an ice cream cone, watch the festivities, and cool off? But you'd better be careful - there's always a munchkin or two here to spray any unsuspecting onlookers they may find.

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, with large numbers of citizens waiting to be awed by your very presence. Look at you! Organic wonder! Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. The imPort craze remains high here, and you may find yourself cornered by overzealous imPort fans, media wannabes and opportunists alike, shoving cameras in your face. Their questions are likely to be fairly mundane, however; get ready for an interview about your taste in romantic partners, personal underwear choices, favorite foods, and more!

Should you manage to escape these reporters, however, you may find yourself swept up with the preparations being made for the 4th of July. Everywhere you look will be covered in the good ol' stars and stripes, the red, white and blue. Want flag shaped cakes? How about swimsuits covered in the American flag? Crocs? Nachos? Napkins? Glue-on nails? Flasks? You got it! While this may be the norm for some imPorts, non-American imPorts may find this display of pure American pride to be a little off-putting. Even so, they may find themselves face to face with one of the vendors, saying, "You're an imPort, right? Take one! You're an American now!"

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania has had its ups and downs since imPorts started disappearing. The city's political core now gutted with its mayor and supreme ambassador exported out, the streets have returned to the hands of the local people -- and incidental, the local criminal element. More so here than the streets of any other imPort city, the battle between good and evil looks more like a war of escalation than a heroic tale.

As your character walks down the street, they may find themselves thrust within what appears to be an organized protest and a smaller counter-protest. There's shouting, there are chants. You pick up rhythmic beats of THE END IS NEAR, GET THEM OUT OF HERE clashing against the clumsier counter-chants of IMPORTS ARE PART OF US. You probably don't know why, but there are sects of people who believe your kind is bringing about the end of the universe. You'll probably learn why, in due time. But given the scorching tension of the situation you have found yourself in, it's probably a good idea NOT to use your powers.

But even keeping your powers on the down low, you're of keen eye, or at least today you are, as fate would have it. You see a boring looking man, perhaps in his mid-20s, with a cluster of boring looking companions (three or four at most) wearing backpacks as they all uniformly step back and don black masks. The protests are crossing the street ahead of First National Bank. These men beeline towards the bank.

They are going to rob it, and people are going to get hurt, you're sure of that. They're probably armed, given their backpacks. What do you do?

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's always some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. You may find yourself in the midst of a few closed-off streets for some occasion or another - whether it be a food cart festival, no-car day, or something else! - and surrounded by the hum of people, the waft of food being served on the street, and plenty of attention

Today there's a big lemonade stand on one busy sidewalk, staffed by a group of industrious kids. Aww, isn't it sweet? Wait...is that a cookie stand a little ways down, also run by elementary-to-middle schoolers? Heck, the entire block is full of kid-run mini-businesses — a gathering of pint-sized entrepreneurs! And they have their eyes on you, hero, because as a celebrity imPort, your pockets are full of $$$, right?

05. Jeopardy, Nevada by all rights shouldn't exist. A glowing neon city smack in the middle of the desert, the only reason it's still here is that the central nuclear power plant has tapped half a mile down into a subterranean lake for its water supply. So though the desert around it may be barren, the occupants of this small city are happily self sufficient. Those weird figures you see out of the corner of your eyes? Don't worry too much. Probably just weird radiation after effects. Jeopardy has a lot of those.

Despite the weird constant hum and the creepy cultish bingo, Jeopardy is usually a pretty calm place. A safe place. But not today. Today, someone has released a couple hundred tiny praying-mantis-like robots into the city, and the place is in chaos. Shops are closed up early because though these little destructive creatures don't have bullets, they do have some weird arm appendages that like to just crunch everything in existence. Like a locus swarm of cockatoos, anything made of wood or plastic is being crunched up and left for scrap. But at less than six inches high apiece, rounding them up is proving extremely difficult. Luckily, the mayor in her wisdom is giving out titanium nets to any imPort who wants to help round up the trouble makers. And, in the spirit of the city, she's offering the imPort that catches the most robots a free meal for two in the swanky Radiation Galley - Jeopardy's top tier, five star restaurant.

Thor was still confused by this place. The fandom, the people chasing them, that them was nice, but also somewhat.... irritating. He had just set off to find himself and try to rebuild himself and now... this. What? Why? The answers given to him by those in the military base had been unhelpful, and he had felt a certain amount of anger at them, and at how they quickly brushed off his questions and outrage. Still he was stuck here, and he hoped to find something... better.

Visiting Heropa, Florida was weird. it was almost too bright, too bouncy, and he felt almost like he was in a weird distorted view of life. But, the free drinks were nice, and he did not mind posing fro a few photos. He supposed he should get used to it, after all.

When he arrived, the heat was bad, and he wasted no time in using his powers to bring some relief. Wherever he went,m cool winds and short but coo showers came with him. And he joined in for the water balloon and water gun war. Because, well, it was a fight and for fun, and yes. So he waded in, bringing his powers to bear, and using the water guns, with some modifications, to help his side win, more often then not.

Not that he minded losing. He had a certain need to know others' ways, now, and he craved learning, and so when he lost, the winner would find Thor coming close to ask questions, and possibly bring those cool breezes with him.

Sometimes, he was also bribed by food and drink to sit aside, and watch or even referee.

In De Chima he found even more people watching him and asking him questions, and people who even got some of what he had to say about magic and science being one and the same! He was excited for this, and he spent quite a bit of time where he talked with them, and ended up with a number of job offers, ones he knew he would need to sort through, and maybe get some help doing so.

Their questions about his desires and his romantic habits, however, struck bad chords, as he had lost all those he had loved in rather unfun ways, and that shut down his conversations, and sent him toward the closest gym or bar, or both. He had not been lucky in love, ever, and he felt those pangs more now, as he felt his years more, as well.

The sometimes comments on his current shape also made him seek out solace elsewhere, for he was used to it, but not very happy with it, and it reminded him of all the bad parts of the last six years.

The preparation for the 4th of July brought a pang of sadness to him, and also a smile, for it reminded him of his brother, Steve, and he would be found raising a glass to the Captain sometimes, during those events. As well as helping raise more and more things to help commemorate him. And it is possible he also brought many, many things of the nature. And also telling tales of the Captain to whoever would listen.

Loki was visiting Florida first, it was true. It was hot, and while he could hide among crowds or even alone, he couldn't hide from the heat. He didn't know if he bought into the package the government was selling, about being a hero, saving the world. He'd tried that, at Thor's urging even. 'You'll always be the God of Mischief' he'd said, 'but you could be more'. Having the life choked out of him hadn't made the switch seem particularly worth it.

And now, there were more people asking him to protect them. Well, he could at least humor them for a while, he supposed. It wasn't the afterlife he'd always been promised for dying valiantly, but it was something. He'd been on the trail of the one causing the sporadic showers for some time, invisible to all thanks to his magic, the familiarity of the rainfall too much to be a coincidence. It warmed him, though he'd never admit that to anyone. He was glad to not be alone here, but from rumors, the heroes brought to this place were often from different times. He had to be sure.

The sight he found was certainly not what he expected. Stricken with guilt, he nearly decided to simply leave more than once, but instead, he lurks in the shadows, hidden by magic, and waits until Thor is alone, enjoying refreshments on the sidelines before he sends an illusion of himself to his brother's side, lest the Asgardian not take the appearance favorably.

[ adam is one of those munchkins, and even soaked like this, he still has a weirdly charismatic effect. you almost can't help but like this kid, even as he jumps out from behind a bush with an excited yell to blast you with his water-gun. which is.. a surprisingly powerful jet of water for a toy, leaving you and everything around you soaked.

I'm from Tadfield, [ says the small british boy in a tone that says being american can't hope to stand up to being from a tiny village in the english countryside. he still takes the offered headband with light-up american flags on springs, though, because who the heck wouldn't? he's also working on one of those rocket-shaped red-white-and-blue ice pops, and it's started melting down his hand.

still, the crowd around him is only getting thicker, and it's a lot for an eleven-year-old with a little mutt at his feet. adam doesn't mind the attention exactly, but it's getting hard to go anywhere or do anything with people asking him so many questions and impeding his progress.

he sighs, plants his free hand on his hip. ] It's about time you all went home, isn't it? [ and just like that, the folks around him slowly start to trickle away. that's a pretty handy trick, huh?

01. Heropa
[There's something off about the man holding the water gun in the middle of the Heropan streets. Perhaps its because the expression on his face has barely changed since arriving. Perhaps its because he seems as if he'd be more comfortable holding an actual weapon. Perhaps its the fact that several water balloons are hovering in the air behind him. Whatever it is, you'll find Judd playing with anyone brave enough to come near him.

He's surprisingly gentle with the kids, and though tougher on the teenagers, he still will let them get a few hits in. For the adults... he's not quite so generous.

No matter the age group, at some point a water balloon will be hurled in your general direction via telekinesis, and if (and only if), you weren't the intended target, you'll find yourself graced with an extremely flat:]

02. De Chima
[Ever since arriving, Judd had found this world to be too loud. Humans as a race had never generally been gifted with mental shields, and the humans of this Earth were no exception. It was what made it so easy for less scrupulous Psy to reach in and take whatever information they desired from the humans around them. It also meant that for a 9.4 Gradient Telepath, it took all that much more effort for Judd to block it out. The rudimentary shields he'd thrown up around his own mind were already starting to break apart, and though part of it was due to it being a rush job, a good part of it had to do with the random crowds that started yelling--both physically and mentally--personal questions that he simply wasn't going to answer.

Ducking into a seemingly quiet alleyway, he presses himself up against the nearest wall and he begins to fix said shields... or at least until he's interrupted. Sensing someone nearby, his eyes quickly refocus as he glares at the interloper.

03. Nonah
[As Judd stares down the street of kid entrepreneurs he knows that whatever money he'd been given would soon be completely gone. He goes from booth to booth buying at least one of everything, taking care (and conscious effort) to show some emotion on his face. He murmurs words of encouragement to each child.

Feeling, so much as seeing, someone staring at him, he turns, all traces of emotion gone.]

04. Jeopardy
[With a slight shake of his head, Judd declines the net. He doesn't need one. Instead, he can be found walking slowly down the street, grabbing the destructive robots with a net of TK, his prey trapped in an invisible net above his head.

Seeing someone with an actual net, he looks over at them, his voice flat and just a little frosty.]

This a common occurrence? There appeared to be too many nets for this to be spontaneous.

[ Carol isn't intending to get involved in this water fight. Her first thought is that Monica would get a kick out of it, and how she wishes her friend and her daughter were here.

But that all changes when a balloon hits her in the back of the head, creating a big wet spot in her hair and dripping down the back of her leather jacket. She turns around, scowling, and zeroes in on the apparent culprit. If she's surprised by the levitating balloons, it doesn't show on her face. ]

Oh, it's on.

[ She grabs a super soaker from the nearest teenager, pumps it as hard as she can, and lets loose in his direction, even flying up into the air to hot him from above (and make herself a smaller target for any retaliation). ]

[ science! technology! all things bow loves the most and though the attention is very . . . uh, flattering if not unusual, bow is more interested in the cameras they're using. with so many flashing in his eyes, bow manages to yank one out of someone's grasp, moving away from the crowd of paparazzi to get a closer look. ]

Amazing. It seems very primitive but it's able to balance multiple functions at once with basic tools . . .

[ someone should tell bow that he needs to return that camera. ]

[ bow had no idea what was going on with the protests and explosive mood that was rolling off in waves in this area. just as he manages to untangle himself from the crowd, when he hears a scream coming from the bank. without thinking, he rushes in — headlong into some guns. bow barely manages a swallow when the robbers shoot at him and he squeezes his eyes shut . . . and opens one warily because . . . he's okay? the robbers stare at him, shocked while bow glances down to see. oh. all the remains of the bullets on the floor. ]

Is this what princesses feel like all the time? Because this is amazing.

[ oh right, thieves, can't forget. bow quickly disarms them with an arrow that wraps rope around their arms and ankles. ]

[With that outfit, and that behavior, this young man can only be another imPort. Fuu trails him quietly as he enthuses over the camera, a faint smile on her face. Truthfully, she gets it. Jumping from 1993 to all the wonders of 21st-century computers rather dazzled her for a while, too.

Though it sounds like he's approaching it from the opposite direction.

She approaches him very quietly from behind.]

It's quite astonishing what they can do with technology in this day and age, isn't it?

it has a directive, and being torn from a situation where it is able to complete that directive is one thing. A conversation from a super quantum unit intel processor in to whatever...THIS physical form is, quite another. everything else?

[visibly disorientated, the SQUIP finds a slight comfort in the technology of this place - though not so much when cellphones are shoved in his face as the natives try and take selfies. it's used to dealing with that sort of thing, you know, from the safety of being in someone's brain. physically here and taking it, well.]

All right, you know what? That's-

[It makes to swat the phone away, more than irritated- only for contact to be made between it and the owner. abruptly, the SQUIP seems to turn in to static and disappear in to thin air, while the girl emits a shriek and collapses to the ground, clutching her head as her friend yells for help.

meanwhile, unseen to any (for the moment)? the SQUIP is pondering the fact it's actually feeling 'relief', as it was not programmed with emotions. considering it's found itself back in the mind of a human, however, it can't help but consider this an overall upturn of events.]


3 - Maurita Falls
[what does the SQUIP do, having once again found itself in physical form, and also found itself observing a group of humans taking advantage of chaos to rob a bank?]

[don't mind it just strolling along to watch, honestly. if anything, it's expecting someone else to try and stop them - and it can use this opportunity to add to its program, to further understand this situation and those who also find themselves within it.]

[the SQUIP knows danger when it sees it. it would very much like to not be in danger, and getting out of here is the top priority. dealing with things is secondary, but why not accomplish both in one go?

if you're nearby, you may just feel a hand on your shoulder- and then a sudden electric jolt in your brain. whoever did it has not so much disappeared as refocused themselves in your vision, smiling cheerfully.

"Hello there. I am a Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor, and you can call me a SQUIP. Give me a moment while I study your capabilities and see how we can put them to the best of use in this situation."

what's that? it should have asked permission?]

Essentially, downloading itself in to another's brain/cruising along with them and possibly taking them over and remotely connecting to nearby devices to gain data and possibly taking them over.]

[ aru isn't a big fan of crowds. they always had a way of making her feel small and invisible. like she could never truly stand out like her peers. normally, she's excellent at brushing it off or putting on airs, but this kind of crowd seems oppressive. and not really open to listening, despite the numerous jabs and loud excuse me please she seems to be belting out.

and well. she has a lightning weapon in her pocket. why not use it?

with a cheeky grin and vajra (as a pingpong ball), aru "discreetly" zaps a few people, getting them to move while cheerily shouting. ]

[ it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. mostly the worst because aru had no money and was longingly staring at that cookie stand. ]

[ There is a very large, very muscular, intimidating woman with scorpion pincers and a long, scary looking tail. A small child hits her in the back with a water gun and she lurches forward in surprise, dripping, before turning around and looking down her nose at the tiny child. ]

Oooooooh! Nice! You got me good! [ She chuckles good-heartedly. ] Where do I get one of those!?

[ Scorpia is absolutely, positively delighted to be here. She's just having a grand ol' time. She spots a pile of water balloons and gasps excitedly. ]

Oh! Those look like fun! Lemme at 'em - [ She tries to grab a water balloon but her sharp claws pop the plastic, spraying water all over her face. ] ...Aw.

[ She doesn't really get what all the decorations and stuff are for. Some kind of celebration, she gets that. They're not really big on celebrating things in the Horde, so mostly it's all new and exciting. Plus, she gets to stuff her face with some of those delicious flag cakes. She's got a cake in one of her claws and is munching on it while she waltzes down the street and as a vendor of shiny, pretty bracelets tells her that she's an "American" now, she gets confused. ]

...A merry can? What makes a can merry...? Is this one of those, whadya call 'em -- like a riddle! Or a joke?

[ And now the Vendor is confused too. ]

[ Scorpia is obviously, visibly an imPort. But because of her general giant scorpian woman thing she has going on, most of the locals are giving her a wide berth while giving her suspicious stares. She's aware of the tension - she thinks she preferred the other cities she's been to so far. Though, oddly enough, the open hostility reminds her of home a little.

When she comes across the protest things get a bit more heated. The counter-protesters are feebly trying to give her support, a gesture that's a bit odd, she thinks, but appreciates, when the protesters try to surround her from behind. As one shouts "We don't need you here!" she spins around - accidentally whacking one in the face with her tail. ]

Whoopsie, super sorry, didn't see you there! You're - oh you're angry. [ She backs up a little, but her tail is raising in response to the people surrounding her holding their signs in a much more weapon-like manner. ] You're all very, very angry, I can see that.

HEROPA

[After being attacked by water balloons by someone weeks earlier, Lonnie maybe should have learned to avoid anywhere they might be. She just hadn't expected it of the quiet little "quaint" town of Heropa. It's not De Chima or Maurtia Falls. Why would she expect to get hit at with more water balloons?

So she retaliates. She gets a water gun and it pelting people with it. Not the little children, because they are such easy targets even she feels pathetic considering it, no matter how practical. But anyone her own age or older? Completely fair game.

Including the tall white-haired woman who has a--]

[ this place makes her uncomfortable. zed is a private person. it's always been easier - safer. she's spent most of her life on the run from her father's cult and she's learned to stay off the radar, zed martin wasn't even her real name. she answers the questions the best she can usually making things up or answering yes or no. she knows her father and his followers aren't here, but she still can't help but be paranoid.

she's extra careful to not touch anyone. her senses and abilities have been going crazy lately, and it's harder to control them. somehow she isn't sure if she's ready to get into the heads of the people here. but it's also too much, there is too much to feel and she isn't sure what to do with that. it's making the headaches worse too, and on some level that scares her.

zed manages a fake smile at the woman asking about her sex life and gives the best non-answer before she finally manages to slip away. she leans back against the wall and massages her temples. her head is throbbing and it's making the world spin. she tries to focus, tries to go to that white space she's been trying to find when her visions become overwhelming. but it feels impossible right now, everything is too overwhelming. ]

MAURTIA FALLS

[ people were disappearing, that's enough to get zed's attention. it's easier to blend in here, everyone is so caught up in protesting they don't seem to notice her. which is good, it's exactly what she wants. she's had visions of the protest - that something is going to happen, even if she isn't entirely sure what. she may be an import, this might not be her home but she's going to do what she can while she's here.

the protest is getting more heated and it's only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. still she needs to figure out why she was having visions of it. there had been violence, people were hurt and men in black masks. ]

[While he certainly never has a problem with being the center of attention, even Constantine is finding the media frenzy to be just a touch overwhelming—not so much the personal questions (him being more than happy to go on at length about what sort of underwear he's presently sporting, along with a possibly lewd suggestion regarding their removal)—but no, it's more the blatant, literally in-your-face Americanism that's chipping away at what little patience he possesses. He's lived in the States off and on enough to have experienced it previously to some extent, but this takes the idea of 'going overboard' to an entirely different level.

Currently, there's a very distinctive voice with a Liverpudlian accent rising above the general chaotic din, sounding just a bit put-out.]

No—I'm not a bloody American now, and if anyone's gonna wear a Statue of Liberty crown and carry a torch, it's not gonna be me, yeah? So you just 'ang on to that, mate. [And then under his breath-] And shove it up your bloody arse, why don't you? Buggering hell.

Evelyn Deavor | Incredibles 2

The hot weather was a menace. Then again, everything here was bound to get under Evelyn's skin, and she was having a hard time masking it. Everyone was cheerful, kind and way too curious over whether she was what they called an "imPort" or not. Did she seriously look that out of place?

Probably.

Especially with the way she watched everything from behind her large sunglasses. Her shirt was two sizes too large, half tucked into her jean shorts... The super-soaker they equipped her with was slung haphazardly over her shoulder.

De Chima

Reporters she could handle. Though she wasn't keen on why they were so interested in her here, she had enough practice back home to know how to field the questions. Winston was the more charming of them both, but she knew how to play the game when confronted.

Besides, the questions were ridiculous enough that she could play any of them off with a laugh.

"My underwear? That's really what you want to know?" she repeats with a hoarse laugh. "I don't bother with it. Now, until you find more interesting questions to ask, I'm afraid I'm done offering answers."

A smile, a wink... And she's ducking away, careful not to roll her eyes at the interaction until she's turned her back to all the reporters. She's questioning that choice, however, as soon as she sees the over-abundance of American flags on things. There's some things that just don't change between dimensions.

Maurtia Falls

There's a bench that has a pretty decent vantage point of all of the drama going down. Far be it for Evelyn to get in the middle of things and meddle. imPorts are, more than likely, part of the larger problem that is superheroes in general.

But what's more interesting is the group of rather mundane looking men that are choosing to rob the bank across the street during the thick of things. She raises an eyebrow and leans back against the bench, stretches and glances around to see if anyone's going to do anything about it. Just as long as they don't expect her to be a hero.

[ mia knows she should probably be doing something more constructive. she should probably be doing something to help the other imports, of finding a way to get home. but it's hot and there are water guns so really none of that is high on her priority list.

the food is high on her list though, because if she's going to be here she's going to enjoy herself at least a little bit. there will be time later to play hero or whatever it was that ollie would call it if he was here.

[ okay, maybe she should have gone easy on them because they were kids but mia can't help it. she turns back to take her cone before looking back out at the activity around her. it's strange in a way and on some level disconcerting how happy and nice everyone here was. but she was trying not to think about any of that right now. there would be time for that later.

Harley was seated at a cafe across the street from the bank when she caught sight of the less than stealth bank robbery that was happening. For goodness sake, she was quite the expert when it came to bank jobs. Knew the things like the back of her red and black gloved hands. She’d only been involved in, oh, a few dozen.

It was hard work helping to keep a criminal enterprise going.

But, in this specific instance, was it so horrible that a gal didn’t want to get involved? At least not until she had her bearings and things shook out and...

Oh, who was Harley kidding? Her M.O. for these things was jump first, worry about anything that might blow up later.

The small cafe had a few tables and chairs on their sidewalk eating area, one of which she picked up and cracked against the concrete so she could admire her new weapon fashioned from the leg of a chair. “Excuse me, outta the way, coming through, have you gotten a load of these amateurs?”

There was a crowd gathering at the cafe, watching from a safe distance with the street and four lanes of traffic between them and the bank. But Harley trotted off, pressing her grease-painted face to the glass of the bank’s window, and rap-tapping it with the splintered end of the chair leg. “Yoo-hoo! Offing hostages ain’t great for business, you know.”

It wasn't too strange to see a woman dressed in a red and black harlequin outfit having a casual chat with bank robbers, was it?

Harley hated bugs. Only slightly less than bats. Though if they were talking those flying cockroaches it was a tossup.

She also hadn’t gotten the memo that maybe she should be trying to catch them instead of flatten them. Not that it seemed to matter, since the little guy seemed to shake off her swat and carry on.

“Can’t take a vacation without getting eaten alive,” she muttered, less concerned that they looked more like robots than anything biological and more worried that these screwy things were just local fauna of this place.

She wasn't really talking to anyone specifically, just whoever was in the general vicinity and might overhear her loud Brooklyn accent. "You got any bug spray before I get devoured?"

Guzma on the other hand loved bugs.

Honestly, the only reason he was even taking part in this at all was because it's essentially a bug catching contest—even if the bugs are robotic. To someone from the Pokémon world that barely meant anything, not when there's things like Scizor and Vikavolt—literally a steel human-sized mantis, and a robotic-like electric stag beetle. He could not care less about saving anyone or doing anyone any kind of service, this was purely for his own enjoyment. And maybe he wanted to keep some of these little monsters for himself.

So, when he saw Harley trying to squish that mantis, instead of catching it, it gains his interest. The things were resilient, so his concern wasn't exactly flared or anything, but maybe this lady just didn't know what was going on. Actually, that was pretty damn apparent. Which worked for him, because he'd just take the bug off her hands and add it to the lot his giant actual bug is currently holding in that net. The isopod in question was a staggering 6'7, while Guzma himself was no slouch in the height department—except for the fact he was literally slouching, but that just put him at 6' instead of his normal 6'5.

"Don't think repellent gonna do ya any good, yo," He offered casually, shrugging at her with a smirk, "Guessin' you ain't part of this little contest, huh?"

America. So maybe it's a bit shocking that he'd never really made any attempt to take a trip across the pond, but he hasn't. And he'd be quite happy if he hadn't now either. Not that he has anything against the place, he's just a bit of a homebody, as angels go. Trips to Scotland are too far from London and his cozy little bookshop, never mind across an entire Ocean... and apparently a whole new parallel reality.

Lovely. "It would've been nice if the Almighty had mentioned a side project..." Aziraphale mutters to himself as he smiles politely with a terse shake of his head at a reporter. No, goodness no. He has nothing to say, and while he could use a hand escaping, helped or not, he eventually makes a bit of a stumbling exit.

Only to find himself smack dab in the land of the free and the home of the brave, and if he winds up with a small flag and a plate of alleged 'nachos' shoved into his hands as a welcome for being an honorary American, the sheer confusion on his face speaks just as clearly as his very obviously British accent, "I'm sorry, what am I supposed to do with these? ...Also I don't believe this is actually food. There's been some mistake here."

The protests are mostly confusing. Aziraphale doesn't look terribly bothered by it, even if he apparently is one of these imPorts now, somehow. Maybe he's used to being a bit of an outsider anyway, a being who doesn't quite belong in the world he finds himself in. But what he does know, however, is a thing or two about the end of the world.

And he'll happily broach that subject. "Oh no, that's not quite it. The end of the universe has quite a number of fairly specific signs, and currently it's on hold. I doubt it can quite have gained speed again so soon, parallel realities or not. The seas aren't even boiling."

Is that helpful? It might not be helpful. But it's about then that he does find himself distracted by the clearly nefarious little group donning masks. "Well, that can't be anything good, now can it?"

The child-run economy that seems to have sprung up is adorable. Aziraphale is easily charmed anyway, and a sucker for lemonade, so he's already patronized that little pop-up-shop. And the cookie stand... twice.

He's a sucker, and he's been spotted as one, because he's now being tempted with a 'C'mon, mister. Come see our bake sale!'

The angel looks swayed. Someone should probably save him from the pint-sized sharks before they empty his pockets entirely.

[ This isn’t where Claire’s supposed to be. It’s certainly not Boston in spring, but North Carolina, she supposes, isn’t that bad. Everything is a little more advanced than what she’s used to, but she’s managing so far. She doesn’t understand why anyone would be so interested in her, and it’s somewhat unnerving, but at least she doesn’t feel unwelcome?

When she buys a cup of lemonade, she feels a pang of missing Brianna at the sight of the young girl, but still smiles and thanks the child before beginning to go on her way. These kids are persistent though, and eventually, she has another cup (after finishing the first), and an armful of baked goods. She’s not worried about giving money, but she doesn’t need all of her cookies and brownies, so she turns to the first person she sees, talking to their back for now. ]

Would you mind taking some of this? God knows I don’t need the sugar.

[ She isn’t as young as she once was, calories don’t fall right off as they once did. ]

De Chima, Virgina

[ She’s found her way here because of the hospitals. She’s a surgeon, was supposed to start at Boston Medical before all of this, but De Chima could do just fine. She’d thought it might seem busier, but the area away from the city at large seems quieter. In ways, it reminds her of Scotland; more overcast than bright and sunny, copious woods, and again, she feels a clench of longing tighten her heart. It’s been nine years since Jamie, and even here, in a place unfamiliar to her, his ghost haunts her.

But now it isn’t just him she misses.

Which means she’s about to throw her entire self into finding a job at the hospital. Might as well distract herself while doing good for others. Frank put her through medical school after all, she should put his money to good use.

Walking out of one of the hospitals after exploring it a bit, she’s mobbed immediately, stunned into not moving.

How do you stay so awake when working long hours!?

The last time she was surrounded by a crowd shouting questions at her, she was thisclose to being burned at the stake, so she’s a bit clammy as she backs up, retreating back into the hospital where it seems at least there’s a barrier of respect for it being a medical establishment. ]

Jean can be found standing on the sidewalk, watching the children shrieking and squealing, dashing about and attacking each other with water guns and water hoses and water balloons, with a gentle smile creasing her face. Head tilted just a little as she watched them and paid little attention to her slowly melting ice cream cone.

She hasn't truly considered going to join them, even as the world has erupted into a water war that's very much in places made of skirmishing adults as well. But she has a hard time looking away, or walking away, just yet. The vision of the children is a balm to all that's happened. Children, more than most thing, betoken the real soul of a place, without even trying to, meaning to, knowing they are.

Simple innocence. Simple joy. Companionship. Acceptance.
All of it washing up, shining and true, against her thoughts as she does.

There’s a flicker of amusement, secretive without being sharp, as Jean shakes her head and sends a long tumble of red hair one way, with something that never quite becomes a laugh. “Very.”

He is... not exactly a stunning figure, being quite overweight with bedraggled hair and a careworn face, but there is an ease to his eyes and smile that has been missing from his life of late, and as he smiles, the sky itself rumbles, not ominously, but in an almost pleading manner. Come play, it seems to call.

He touches a finger delicately to the "cheese sauce", then tastes it. Makes a face which makes it clear that he found it revolting, and begins glancing around for a bin. ]

Well, you can't say these Heropa folks don't know how to party. Ice cream, water guns, and good old-fashioned summer sunshine, boy howdy! Joker's feeling right at home already.

He strolls through the festivities, wearing a bright orange Hawaiian shirt and a pair of sunglasses shaped like palm trees, and licking his way through what might be the tastiest strawberry ice cream cone he's ever eaten. In between licks, he whistles pieces of "Kokomo," and life is grand, truly grand.

A jet of water hits him squarely in the back, and Joker's already-huge grin widens a little more. "My my my. Someone's in the summer spirit." He's drawing his own water pistol as he spins to face whoever had the balls to shoot him. (Or whoever happens to be standing nearby. Details, shmetails.) "But let's make things really sizzle, shall we?"

He cackles and fires the water gun at your center mass. And since his gun's full of acid, here's hoping you're a better dodger than he was.

It breaks Joker's heart--really, it does--to see all these dear little kiddos out here trying to make a buck off of bake sales and lemonade stands. They're never going to get anywhere like that! And they're looking at him so earnestly, too.

Clearly, it's time for Uncle Joker to teach these poor darlings how to run a proper hustle. He'll start with the basics...

By the time you come along, he's got a group of delightful young protégés running their very own shell game, and if that doesn't just make you feel all ooey-gooey inside, why, perhaps you're the monster here, friend. But the kids are still learning the fine art of luring in the mark--ah, make that enticing the customer to play--so Uncle Joker calls you over himself. "Say! You look like the lucky sort. Don't they, kiddos?"

The children all agree that you do. You definitely, definitely do!

"Why don't you come over here, hm? Let these bright young minds see how a real winner plays. And it's so easy, too! May we show you?"

The hell with catching bugs. Joker's not about to volunteer for that sort of work, and certainly not for some measly chance at a dinner. He's seen plenty of infestations in his time already, thanks. Back in Arkham. And all those many, many hideouts.

Ah, those were the days.

Besides, this is precisely the sort of distraction he can use. While the rest of the town's caught up in all this ridiculous hullabaloo, Joker takes advantage of the chaos by breaking into a souvenir shop. That government-issue housing he's received lacks a certain kitschy flair, and it's high time he rectified that.

He's already stuffed a few tacky desert-themed tourist magnets into his pockets, and is examining an eye-blinding dayglo green t-shirt that reads I Was Saved In Jeopardy!, when he realizes he's not alone in the shop. "Hel-loo!" he calls out, holding the shirt up in front of his chest. "Come tell me honestly, now: Is this green too subtle for my complexion?"

Finn has his back turned and is wearing a wide-brimmed hat, so it's not immediately obvious that he's not human. That and a t-shirt, jeans and a denim jacket doesn't exactly scream 'elf fashion'.

He looks over his shoulder in time to see that see the stream of liquid coming at him. Luckily, he's got good reflexes and pivots out of the way at the last second. Looking down at the grass, he sees it start to die, and realizes that wasn't water that nearly hit him.

Looking back at the guy in the weird face paint, he says, "The groundskeeper is going to murder you for that." The elf has a British accent, with a slight rasp to his voice, and he says it so casually, like he didn't just come close to getting a back full of acid.

[Why does it have to suffocating levels of hot here? Neku isn't exactly dressed for hot weather nor does he appreciate it. But he refuses to be beat by it. The weather can kiss his ass because he is here to stay (unfortunately) and here to survive. He's been through Hell and back for his new life and he isn't just going to shrivel up like a raisin. Which is why, after a refreshing drink or two, that he accepts one of the water guns handed to him. He's sure Joshua would be a real expert at this game.

Dark joke. Only slightly funny now that he thinks about it.

Neku messes with the gun for a bit, looking it over. There has to be some kind of game to this, right? He can't say that he's done this often. After making sure his water gun was working, Neku locks eyes with an unsuspecting individual. He casually approaches, his expression nonchalant as he raises the water gun up to you and sprays you down without mercy.]

Got you. What do I win?

Honestly. Him? A hero? This people must be out of their minds. Why did he even agree to this? Oh yeah. The cool benefits that he gets from being allied with the government. He'll do what he has to so he survives, he supposes. But he'd prefer to just do his own thing. He didn't even want to be here. He just wanted to be living the good life with his friends that he's worked so hard to see. But he just had to be dragged into this mess, didn't he?

But just because he agreed to be a hero, doesn't mean that he wanted to be swarmed by the public. So many questions thrown his way that it is a bit overwhelming. Personal questions thrown his way which only made him a lot more upset. He finally manages to shoo them away when he yells at and threatens them with words that would definitely have made Shiki upset to hear. Now he is finally by himself, headphones resting on his head as he listens to his own music.

But then he notices you being hounded by people. He's almost tempted to leave but, goddamn, curse Shiki's influence on him. He's gotta help out. Neku sighs and puts his headphones around his neck before he approaches you, forcing a smile on his face.]

There you are! [He holds out a hand to you and gives you a look that silently pleads to play along if you want to live.] Come on. Quit stalling, we've gotta go! Don't you want to see everyone again? They're getting impatient.

[Of course, this only spawns more questions from the curious crowd.]

[Catching evil robot bugs? Seems simple enough. Not the weirdest thing he's done.

Neku accepts the titanium net in stride, giving it a few test swings. He isn't one to refuse an offer of free food. Anyone would have to be an idiot to not to. Or they were just stupidly rich. But Neku is just your average teenager so he, unfortunately, isn't rolling in dough. He's kind of glad about that. He might have ended up snobby asshole. Like Joshua but the dial turned up to one hundred.

But it is quite obvious what needs to be done. He needs to win to get that free food. And he needs to catch the most robot bugs. Which means that it's time to make a little alliance with someone. Combining their efforts will be something that will result in a victory for both. Sucks that he might have to share his food but, hey, sharing is caring or something cheesy like that.

Neku keeps an eye out on someone that seems skilled enough. He eventually approaches you when he sees that you are participating.]

Hey. Do you want to work together? If we combine our haul, we'll be more likely to be the winners. I'll even split the meal with you if it comes down to it.

[ It was much too hot today. Naminé just wanted to relax, cool down and get a nice snow dessert to munch. She has no idea about the festivities going on and she was marveling at all the fun activities people were rushing out for. No wonder Kairi gave her a heads up to wear a bathing suit today, even if she was just okay wearing a pretty sundress. She just assumed they were going to the beach later, so here she was. Naminé should really try catching up more with this world's events.

But right now something else caught her attention. Something cold and wet! ]

[ Shivering and soaking wet, she immediately turning around to see what happened and looks on as a boy with a gun just looks nonchalantly at her. ]

The festivities seem obscene to this boy, who drifts through the town like a shellshocked soldier returning from war. His face is a pale mask of quiet horror, the kind of expression that makes someone declare You look like someone died!

And someone did.

That someone isn't Jonas, unfortunately. He's still shambling along, somehow, inappropriately dressed in a bright yellow raincoat despite the sunshine and the summer heat, with a scarf wrapped high over his throat to conceal his wounds. The coat, at least, serves some purpose in shielding him from the occasional blast of a water gun. He alternates between jumpy hyperawareness and losing himself in thought, eyes surveying the crowd for danger at one moment and the next moment staring off into space.

The guards stationed at the Porter sent him off with a file of nonsense and a pamphlet he hasn't bothered to read. Whatever's going on, they didn't seem very concerned about him.

Maybe they should have been.

DE CHIMA

Jonas does, indeed, find this display of American patriotism highly off-putting. He'd always kind of figured this stuff was exaggerated in the movies. You're an American now! No, he isn't. He's never been and he has no interest in becoming one. He needs to find his way back to Germany.

The shock hasn't really worn off in the days since his arrival. It's not the fact that he's in another world. Certainly nothing to do with being in another time. It's something else. This world and everyone in it is irrelevant to him. He passes by all the annoying merchants without giving them a single glance. It almost seems like he'll make it past the crowd unscathed. But then someone steps in front of him, blocking his path, and holds up their cell phone to take a photo.

Unthinking, Jonas snatches the phone from its owner, throws it to the ground, and stomps on it for good measure.

Not only is he not registered, and will no doubt remain so, he is insulted to be described as anything other than what he is: a Tohjo native.

That said, he's attempting to create a positive appearance to the population since being an imPort means you're a celebrity like it or not. It isn't particularly hard to put on the polite persona he often did on missions, or when dealing with a judge who liked the lawyers to be personable.

After giving thanks to the vendor he walks away. He finds a trash can and dumps the cake inside, turning to find someone staring. He gives a smug smile.

"Can I help you?"

Archie, standing there with his Crobat next to him, is absolutely sneering at Archer. He doesn't know who the guy is, of course, but anyone throwing away an entire cake is clearly kinda stupid!

[ Meet Hobbes. He's a dapper looking fellow, really. He's dressed in very nice - if not somewhat medieval - clothing in which you can only see the wear and tear in if you look very closely, a marvelous head of hair and a roguishly handsome grin. He's also all of 2'11" (short, even for a Halfling), carrying a bag that looks to be as big as he is and which seems to weigh twice as much with a rapier at his side and carries with him the air of a goldfish that had been at the top of the pack in its fishtank who had been suddenly and unceremoniously dropped in the ocean and is trying very, very hard not to let it show.

At least, that's the general effect you get when you see Hobbes marching down the street, head whipping this way and that as he takes in all the new sights and sounds of this terrifying thing called a metropolis. ]

[ When offered a drink at a local establishment and thanked for his efforts, Hobbes' eyes light up, chest immediately puffing out. ] Ah, so you people have heard of me! You're quite welcome, I'm sure. Some of us are just born with it.

[ In Maurtia Falls, a bank is being robbed. People may well get hurt, and someone's going to have to pay for all that's happening. A true hero would step in and help, damn the possibility of getting shot.

Hobbes saw this and made the executive decision that that's somebody else's problem, thank you. Instead, he walks very quickly two streets down where he's immediately accosted by a couple of the protestors who are loudly approaching him with what looks to be the intent to seriously hurt him, if not kill him. Hobbes backs away quickly, grimacing. ]

N-now, I'm sure we can talk this through. I'm not an imPort. I'm on your side! Screw those guys!

[ It's not a good bluff. It's just the first one that popped into his head. ]

though bringing the end? she'd need to find out if there was any truth to that. she'd already helped bring about (and stop) one apocalypse and whilst she really just wanted to get back to hell she had to do so before anything kicked off. don't involve her.

it's why everything else is a distraction, including the bank robbery in progress. she'd sen them 'suit up', finding it a little bold considering it was in the middle of the day. but looking around no one else yet seems to have noticed. that is what she ends up watching for a moment rather than the robbery )

[What's a vampire doing in one of the sunniest and hottest imPort cities? Who knows, honestly, his life is just one bad decision after another but he's trying his best to make the most of it all.

He's not really involved in the water fight going on in the side street, but he's occasionally participating when someone forces his hand, lurking on the shaded side of the path and tossing balloons at any who dare water gun him. One such balloon totally misses his intended target as they duck and dart out of the way, smacking into Lilith instead.

At least he has the decency to look apologetic about it all as he scutters over to her.]

[ A – Heropa ]

[The beach of Heropa will never fail to be a comfort to Riku – it's so similar to the Islands, especially with the weather being what it is right now. Riku basks in the familiarity and allows himself to pretend for a little while.

Heat like this is nothing that he isn't used to from home.

That doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate a little cool down every now on then… on his own terms though. For now, he's settled with a couple of water balloons hidden away in the folds of his discarded jacket, just as back-up. For now, let him enjoy the sun a little longer though.

[ B – Maurtia Falls ]

[Well, it's not like Riku doesn't have some experience from trying to stay beyond notice due his last stay in this world – keeping the hood of his jacket up to hide away his mob of silver hair is a definitive must to escape getting harassed. He does wonder what brought on this kind of protests… at least until he sees the group of men donning their masks.

Not a day without a crime around here, right? Right.

Well, Riku might not be much of a hero – certainly not like Sora – but he isn't going to let these guys get away with robbing the bank. Time to be stealthy and sneak in right after them – confronting them in the chaos of the ongoing protests seems like a bad idea after all.]

the real mistake was going outside at all, probably. how many times must she relearn this lesson?

the humidity alone has made taming her hair a war of attrition, where every block or so she's had to stop to re-tie and smooth out the curls frizzing and going all over the place. should've worn the hat. why didn't she bring the hat? should've just called the library and begged for an extension of due date. bah!!

her shouting down the kids stalking her like a pack of wolves precedes her as she steps over the low fence line onto the beach, deciding to take the longer way home to avoid the blocked-off balloon zone. after a couple of those brats vanish from sight, she sighs, wiping sweat off her forehead and starts to trudge along, still stewing over all the things she should've done besides venture outdoors today.

this all stops abruptly when, after startling at a jogger up the street (it could've been a secret balloon launcher, okay?!), she spies silver hair and a shape relaxing out on the sand. she blinks, squints, and blinks again, very much convinced that's just one of those mirage-things from stories, but...no, he's not even slightly transparent, is he?

[Jane is enjoying an ice cream. She's enjoying it very much, in fact, perching on the edge of a wall while she does her best to catch the drips rolling down the side of the waffle cone. It's undignified, but no more undignified than being thrown through the trees by a vine-swinging wild man.

In her flowing skirt, sleeveless top and wide-brimmed sun hat, no one would pin Jane for someone displaced entirely out of time. She's smiling quite happily, up until she realises that someone is pointing a water gun right at her.]

Uh... Don't? Please? [She chuckles nervously, a slight smile tugging at one corner of her mouth. Come to her rescue? Or watch her get unceremoniously sprayed down, and lose her precious ice cream?]

[It isn't that Jane is entirely unused to cameras, and she's become far more used to them since her arrival here, but when she's immediately accosted upon leaving her workplace she takes several steps back and hugs her satchel tightly to her chest.]

Excuse me-- I'm just trying to-- What kind of a question is that?! [She's just trying to get home. Several attempts are made to squeeze past the excited throng surrounding her and one or two others who were unfortunate enough to leave the building at the same time, then a sharp, clear voice rises up above the chatter.]

[It's clear on her face she's had enough. The crowd eases back to let her through, and she steps forward with her head held high.]

01 Heropa

[ It was so messed up. One minute he was in this world and the next he was back in the Porter room, finding out over a year had passed. And he was alone again. All his stuff had been given away, and he had mostly been walking around Heropa, not wanting to go on the network and ask "who's still here" and have to tally up everyone who was gone.

So now he wandered into the water festivities and gets sprayed with a water gun, so now he's sad and wet, and his miserableness goes full circle and he starts laughing. ]

05 Jeopardy

[ The Porter room had a new name to choose from so he goes there, confused. He likes the dry heat, less fond of the weird spider cult. ]

The hell...? Since when has this all been here?

[ When a robot causes a scene near him, though, he reflexively pulls out his heat gun and hits it with a bolt of searing hot flame. The little thing...melts. Not fully, but it's gross looking. ]

[ Mick rubs the back of his neck awkwardly, not looking forward to this. ]

Jeopardy, Nevada in high summer could give Tattooine a run for its money. Well, maybe. Tattooine with one sun. In winter. If it ever had one.

In short, it's hot as fuck, but not the worst she's experienced. Still, one of the ICE COLD DRINKS 99c in the case she can see through the thick, slightly grimy glass of the gas station window, between the maze of neon signs that seem to make up 90% of the town would be fucking fantastic if someone would open the fuckpissing door yeah I see you in there you wet sack of sleenshit come on! Kinda feels like Nar Shadaa, a little. Better air quality by a long shot, even if the constant electrical hum has sunk into her back teeth and stayed there.

It's not the first gas station she's encountered, or even the first shop, but for some reason everything is closed down at 2 in the afternoon and the streets are empty but for a lot of crumpled debris and trash. Not even a stray tooka. Stray cat. They're called cats here. She would have ridden right through but the gauge has been hovering on E for three miles and she has no desire to push her big, ugly beast of a speederbi-- motorbike, or motorcycle, Shae, get it together. The fucker doesn't even hover, but the machinist swore it was the easiest to repair and maintain. Ugly as sin but it rides well and fast, when it has fuel.

She needs gas, and whatever the fuck a TURBOCHARGER ULTRA BLUE RAZZBERRY MEGAGULP BRAIN FREEZEE is, and this is place has a visible employee, so here she is whacking the glass with the heel of her hand, sweating like a Hutt at a tax audit, hoping the pimply, gawky teen at the register will look up from his phone since clearly he can't hear her.

When he finally does, it's only to roll his eyes at her and point at the sign on the door.

EMERGENCY CLOSURE, PLEASE COME BACK LATER! :)

She responds by flashing the new, ugly, involuntary tattoo on the inside of her wrist, and suddenly he's interested, scrambling out from behind the counter. Useful thing. Hers are better. The soft button-down blue flannel over a thin white tank had come with the sleeves torn off, same as the holes in the knees and one upper thigh of her denim pants, which seemed wasteful and stupid even if it did help keep her cool. That and it nicely showed off the hard muscle in her arms, and the stooping jaig hawk of her brother's memorial on her bicep, along with the rest of her menagerie of ink.

"Damn time," she grumbles, pushing past him into the blessedly cool, wheezily rattling air-conditioning. "The hell kind of emergency shuts a whole town down?"
"New around here, huh?" the kid asks, and she doesn't dignify it with an answer, heading for the FREEZEE machine.

The phone comes out again, hesitantly, while she fills a plastic cup as big around as her thigh with TURBOCHARGER ULTRA BLUE RAZZBERRY. Maybe a bit of the toxic looking A**KICKER SOUR GREEN APPLE too, why not.

The screen above the register is playing a news broadcast.

Citizens are advised to keep children and small animals indoors until the outbreak is contained--

"Hey, d'you think I could like…" He holds the phone up, towards her. A picture?

--claim the mantids are merely "destructive" not "dangerous"--

"What, you people collect us or something?" she asks sourly, and adds more blue with her eyes on the screen.

Kid laughs awkwardly. "Kinda, yeah. ImPort pics and stuff go viral all the time, and you're new. I'll have your pic and stuff before you get famous or die or whatever."

"Fair enough," she says, shrugging. "Throw the FREEZEE in and it's a deal."

--imPorts are encouraged to collect the mantid specimens using their own or provided supplies and return the specimens to the Mayor's office.

"Deal!"

She throws her free arm around the kid's shoulder so he can take a selfie. He reeks of aerosol cologne. That done, she tilts her chin at the news broadcast. "This sort of thing happen often?"

"Huh? Oh. No, but the Mayor's giving whoever brings the most bugs in by the end of the day a free meal at the Radiation Galley."

Eh, she's done worse things for less.

She slaps a 20 on the counter as she heads back out the door. "Put that on pump number four."
"Cool, yeah, hey, what's your name?"
"Torch."
Kid lights up. "As in Human?"
"Far as I can tell, yeah." Weird kid.
"Awesome." And there he goes back to the phone. Hopefully he turns the damn pump on before too long.

The FREEZEE is sweet-sour artificial heaven as she walks back out to her bike to lean against the seat while she waits for the pump to click over. She has no frame of reference but there's no such thing as cheap fuel anywhere and she resolves to be annoyed by the price on principle. Especially since that $20 isn't going to fill the tank.

The first "mantid" peeks out from inside a trash can, a FREEZEE straw in its metal jaws. She glares and pulls her drink closer to her chest.

It begins industriously chewing through its prize, little crumpled bits falling to the ground around the trash bin. They stare at each other while she milks the last few cents of fuel out of the pump, and it hops down out of the trash can with a metallic jingle. It doesn't appear to notice that she's gotten her free hand into the saddlebag with her gauntlets.

It approaches cautiously, like it has the ability to sense a threat, but not cautiously enough.

It crunches very satisfyingly under her heavy leather boot.

Unfortunately the thing's death beeps have half a dozen more peeking out of the trash can.

One down, six to go, apparently.
