We were brought here by a conceptualized personification of Fate. One of them, anyway. There's really not much more we can do to get "bigger" in the scope of applied divinity.

Of course I do, Fate wouldn't be involved otherwise. A divine plan is still just a plan.

But you're traditionally considered a god, too, and you're just — well. You. Not that the flying and magic wasn't impressive.

Most importantly I am myself, but there are some aspects of the universe that would like nothing more than to fold me into a little metaphorical box. [ there's a quirk of his head. he'd rather not get into his own self-destructive tendencies right now. that would get off topic quickly. ] That's a conversation for another time, however. [ maybe. ] The point is that universe prefers old patterns—Fate, destiny, "wishful thinking" or whatever you want to call it.

I'd rather like to know whose mercy this is—whether this is a sort of personification of destiny or just another bearing the name of a mortal story turned divine. The universe likes those, too.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you have considerable experience in the area, and yet. [ It's pretty weird. ] Figuring out who's yanking our chains is always an idea I can get behind, regardless of who it is. I don't like being used, no matter whose plan it is.
