01.The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city.

Unfortunately, tragedy has struck today. It seems like the entire Heropa PD is parked out of a local, popular grocery chain. A huge crowd is amassed in the parking lot despite the best efforts of officers to get them to leave. They whisper about excitement and shame, and you don't have to ask if you just listen in a bit...

"What do you think he'll do to the employees? He sounded so serious..." "He really wants that pussy, huh?" "If I left my man for cheating on me, I'd take the damn cat, too!" "How does he think taking her and her coworkers hostage is gonna make her change her mind about him being a bad boyfriend?" "My wife is pregnant, please - if I don't get her favorite deli sub I might as well not go home!"

Domestic disputes! Tragic. The police aren't too sure how to handle this hostage situation, claiming the man only has a box cutter and isn't actually waving it around at the moment, but...are you an imPort? They'd really appreciate the help, okay. Get in there and counsel the unhappy couple. Or not!

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, with large numbers of citizens waiting to be awed by your very presence. Look at you! Organic wonder! Synthetic wonder! Whatever you might be, those words have meaning here. Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. The imPort craze remains high here, and you may find yourself cornered by overzealous imPort fans, media wannabes and opportunists alike, shoving cameras in your face. 

Today in De Chima, there's the unveiling of a brand new invention in the convention centre park! With a simple scan, it will print out your Closest Love Match of the other individuals present, along with your percentage of compatibility and a free coupon to get lunch with your new date if you match 90% or higher! 

A little odd that it seems that nearly every couple has 90% or higher, isn't it? What's the probability that the scanner is broken?

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania has carried a reputation for ups and downs ever since imPorts began reappearing again, just those few years prior. Several imPort heroes have put focused efforts into cleaning up the streets of this somewhat infamous city, while a handful of others had swooped in to help the criminal industry thrive. More so here than the streets of any other imPort city, the battle between good and evil looks more like a war of escalation than a heroic tale. Everything from the classic bank heist to brutal bloodbaths can happen around the corner. You have to keep your eyes open and your mind sharp when you live in Maurtia Falls, and hostility against imPorts can spike. The emergence of locals with superpowers is hardly helping...

Despite the lack of gratitude that's in it for you, you may want to step in once you see a very, very sad supervillain wandering Maurtia Falls' streets. Dressed in a cape that appears to be a large swath of fabric purchased from a nearby sewing store, galaxy-themed leggings and no shirt is a man who runs right into your vicinity before striking a pose and yelling, "Everyone, stop before me and my wrath! I am Mister Mars, and provided you give me what I ask for, nobody needs to get hurt!"

At which point Mister Mars snatches an old woman's purse, loudly laughs in her face, and begins to float upwards. By the time he reaches the height of the tallest building in the area, he's beginning to look slightly panicked as he fails to really be able to move anywhere but up. Meanwhile, the old woman has begun shaking her cane at him and screaming quite an assortment of alarming expletives.

Maybe you should help one or the other out? If not, just lean back and enjoy the show.
 

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's always some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement.

Today there's a big lemonade stand on one busy sidewalk, staffed by a group of industrious kids. Aww, isn't it sweet? Wait...is that a cookie stand a little ways down, also run by elementary-to-middle schoolers? Heck, the entire block is full of kid-run mini-businesses — a gathering of pint-sized entrepreneurs! And they have their eyes on you, hero, because as a celebrity imPort, your pockets are full of $$$, right?

05. Jeopardy, Nevada by all rights shouldn't exist. A glowing neon city smack in the middle of the desert, the only reason it's still here is that the central nuclear power plant has tapped half a mile down into a subterranean lake for its water supply. So though the desert around it may be barren, the occupants of this small city are happily self sufficient. Those weird figures you see out of the corner of your eyes? Don't worry too much. Probably just weird radiation after effects. Jeopardy has a lot of those.

Despite the weird constant hum and the creepy cultish bingo, Jeopardy is usually a pretty calm place. A safe place. But not today. Today, someone has released a couple hundred tiny praying-mantis-like robots into the city, and the place is in chaos. Shops are closed up early because though these little destructive creatures don't have bullets, they do have some weird arm appendages that like to just crunch everything in existence. Like a locus swarm of cockatoos, anything made of wood or plastic is being crunched up and left for scrap. But at less than six inches high apiece, rounding them up is proving extremely difficult. Luckily, the mayor in her wisdom is giving out titanium nets to any imPort who wants to help round up the trouble makers. And, in the spirit of the city, she's offering the imPort that catches the most robots a free meal for two in the swanky Radiation Galley - Jeopardy's top tier, five star restaurant.

Rimuru Tempest // That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime

Slime

[ Well, it seems that he is back on Earth! A bit of a different Earth, true, but Earth nonetheless. He did miss it, even if this is America and not really Japan; the technology is different too, but similar enough to be nostalgic. What's NOT nostalgic is how he keeps being dragged around and being thrown from universe to universe constantly! He didn't die back in his last world, which was a nice change of pace, and he got to keep his slime body, but really... he was brought here just when he was about to settle in his last world.

Rimuru kept thinking and cursing his lack of luck as he slid through the street, until someone basically... well, kicks him. He is just a slime, so it's easy to miss him, but that was pretty rude!!! The child who did so makes a small face, quickly going "Ewwwwww it's gross!" and Rimuru defends himself ]

Sorry, but I was born this way! [ well, not born, exactly. ] I have had to accept this refined, streamlined form, but it wasn't by choice.

[ the kid just looks even more grossed out, before another nearby comments "Is it... a hero?". Rimuru turns to them (even though he has no face!), squirming a bit embarrassed. He'd smile and blush if he had a face. ] I wouldn't call myself an Hero, but-

[ "Step on it." ]

[ "Yeah, we should step on it." ]

YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULDN'T!! [ why are kids so mean!! He is just a friendly slime, why all of this?! ]



Human form

[ he escaped those little monsters! Why would anyone want to step on such a cute slime? Once he finds a quiet little nice place, Rimuru decides it's better to turn into his human form. Despite this world taking people from other universes and having weird super-heroes around, they are probably still a lot more comfortable with something that looks human rather than just a monster.

He still had oddly colored hair, but the glances he got from other people were less weirded out than when he was a slime and that's good. With communicator in his hands, his file, as well as a note as to where he'd be living, Rimuru walks around until he realizes he is absolutely lost ] No matter how you look at it, I'm pretty lost... [ Until he remembers, he has a special skill that is very helpful and could probably give him a hand! His Unique Skill "Great Sage" never failed him. And so he frowns trying to call for his Skill, but... nothing happens. He looks surprised to say the least and tries once again but... nothing. ]

Oi. Great Sage? [ no answer. And he feels like he was just splashed with cold water, even though he technically feels no cold. Suddenly Rimuru grabs on to his head, now talking louderscreaming ] Great Sage?! Where are you?! Are you hiding on purpose?!! Come out, I need you!!!

[ no matter how you look at it, it totally looks like Rimuru is pretty much screaming at himself, yeah. In fact, some natives just downright avoid him because they don't want to be part of this whatever this is AT ALL. ]



Network, Video

[ Video starts with a blob. There is a blue blob in front of the communicator. And after a couple of seconds, the blob squirms and a voice is heard ] Oh! This is on! That was easier than I expected. [ yes, the blob is talking ] Hello, I'm Rimuru Tempest: a slime! [ the blue slime hops once, swaying from side to side for a moment before he continues, excitedly ] Don't worry, I'm not a bad sliiiiime!!! [ well. Maybe people in this world know Dragon Quest, maybe they don't. This place reminds him of his own Earth a lot, with some crucial differences like Superheroes, but if he is lucky, there will be others from the same place as him.

In any case, slime introductions were made, and suddenly the ball bounces and suddenly reshapes itself into a boy (girl? Who knows.) and Rimuru finally stands in his human form, hands on his hips. He sees no need to continue playing super-cute, so he calms down, but he is smiling ] I think you'll appreciate it a lot more if I look like this.

It's not the first time I was pulled into a new place, though it's still weird. I kept some of my powers, but not all. [ he looks down at his hands and then crosses his arms, with a thoughtful expression on his face ] I'm missing my Unique Skill. It's a bit lonely. Will I be able to get her back? Can I level up in this place? [ level up... well, sure, he will use that expression, it's easier. ]

In any case, this seems like a really interesting place. I hope we can be friends. [ and he smiles wide again before he cuts off the feed ]

[ well, this is a sight. cloud can't really say he's in the mood to get dragged into this - it seems like it's going to be a pain in the ass. the cops aren't really... doing anything, and while he's on the government payroll thanks to all of this registration garbage, it feels like a waste of his time to get hauled into everything they don't want to handle.

[ and in he goes. in one scenario - it's a stealth mission. do you come in to help him out, maybe worried that the surly looking blonde is going to cause more problems than he solves? or are you the unfortunate person who breaks the poor sod's fall when cloud punches him straight through an aisle. ]

[ he says, trying to pull away from an over-eager salesman trying to sell him on finding his bonafide soulmate. but - they're super insistent. and kind of grabby? before long, he's in front of one of the scanners looking uncomfortable. he's not meeting the eyes of the other person they've roped into it.

[ well this is sure Some Shit. he's out here because, you know - some shop keepers are paying handsomely to keep their place from getting absolutely shredded. which means he's posted outside what looks to be a night club, buster sword in hand, smashing it down on the hordes of little bitey buggies. when they're stunned, the net is coming out to scoop them up.

someone who owned this sword and took great care of it is probably crying in heaven. ]

misc.

[ catch cloud hauling ass after some dumb pickpocket who thought he found an easy mark. the boy is employing some impressive parkour - and also letting out some curse words that would make a sailor blush.

also: catch him handing out fliers or collecting signatures, looking bored and slightly irritated. a job's a job. and honestly people are too intimidated by the look on his face to say no to one of these, so it's nice easy money. ]

[Rude has been ignoring every other person on the street trying to press fliers or clipboards into his hands. This? This was why he didn't hang around outside of the office much, except for the necessities like going to bars or getting groceries or hitting up a book store. Too many people trying to get things from you.

Each time he kept moving, ignoring the either overly enthusiastic or absolutely apathetic employee or volunteer. It wasn't until he thought he caught sight of someone familiar that he stopped. Stopped and immediately shifted his stance.

[God, grown ups are so stupid. And as much as he wants to just turn around and leave, the part of him that's just too controlling to let that happen wants to step in and fix this problem himself. The guy's only got a small blade and they're waffling on what to do?]

Seriously? [he exaggeratedly bemoans with a roll of his eyes before he just...slips a rifle off his shoulder, because yeah, he's carrying it around. He still doesn't quite understand the concept of leaving your weapon at home. And you know what? He doesn't want to understand it. This works for him.]

Just give me some space.

[The obvious solution is to snipe the fucker. Even if someone doesn't blast his head off — which someone absolutely should — at least shoot the stupid box cutter out of his hand, or blow his kneecaps out, right? Right. Just give him a minute as he tries to get into a position to line his shot. For a kid, he definitely at least knows how to hold his gun. Even if...his solution leaves a lot to be desired.]

[He's not used to live and bustling streets at all, but what stands out to him in a pleasant way is the distinct lack of adults. Or rather, the fact that the kids seem to almost outnumber them. They're not anyone he knows but they're here, and for the most part he just wanders around and makes sure no dumbass starts hassling them.

Eventually though, he has a cup of lemonade in one hand and a cookie in the other. Hell yeah, sweets. And more importantly, these sweets aren't full of radiation. The taste is so...pure.

He's casually chatting with one of the kids at one of the stands with his mouth full of cookie.]

Word of advice, charge the mungos — I mean grown ups more. Just bat your eyelashes at them or whatever and they'll pay whatever because they're fucking stupid.

[MacCready rolls his eyes at the scene before him. He feels compelled to interfere, but not out of any sense of justice. He just, quite frankly, feels like being a little shit.]

[A rock goes sailing towards the floating man, though it just misses him. At the moment he's not so high that he can't hit him, as he's only about as high as one of the smaller apartment buildings. But he's intent on nailing him in the face or something before he gets too high.

He picks up another rock and winds his arm back. No, he has absolutely no regard for the potential to break a window. Who gives a shit.]

There's a lot of cars. That's what gets Rude to stop. Can't help it, he's used to being the sort of authority figure that could step in to these situations, help defuse them. As it is the suited man just stares at the mess of things. How these officers and bystanders realize he's one of these 'imPorts' is beyond Rude. All he knows is that he's gotten pulled aside with another person assumed to be an 'imPort' and told they needed to go in there to defuse the situation. And all Rude can ask is a single question.

"Why?"

Yes, he may have worked with Shinra authorities before to defuse such situations, but that didn't mean he much thought it was an appropriate choice. In this case he didn't have materia or a back-up pistol and it wasn't like he knew these people. Surely this was what cops were for.

"Is it our business?" he continues, looking for input from the other imPort.


De Chima

This was not what he'd signed up for. At least, Rude is PRETTY SURE he did not sign up to get kidnapped to another world, be given strange powers, be stripped of any of his normal support structure, and then get pulled over to a love match machine. It was a strange contraption, much like the fortune telling machines at the Golden Saucer, and Rude frowned down at the compatibility results and the coupon. This was... strange.

"I," he starts to say, and then stops. And then looks at the coupon. It IS a reduced price for food. That's something to be argued for. And yet it's also a strange situation. "Uh, you can have the coupon if you want."


Nonah

The first table gets him real good with the lemonade. The kids have this whole song and dance routine, with talking about how they need to make sales to help with a sick dog. And the dog in question is even lying beside the booth looking pathetic. So Rude buys a lemonade. And at the cookie stand there's a cute girl saying it's a school project to teach them 'ant-tray-pen-new-l' skills. So he buys half a dozen cookies. And then there's the popcorn stand which is actually trying to raise money to buy yarn so a nursing home can have supplies for the old ladies to knit with. And so on and so forth.

Though the big man may not look like it, he's a push over for these sorts of things, and before the end of the block Rude's trying to juggle a practical armload of child-sold goods, looking for somewhere to sit down or someone to foist it all off on so he can walk awya. Down the middle of a street. Just to avoid the kids.

"Want some cookies? They're free."

The other man pulled off to the side could not look less prepared to handle any sort of hostage situation, and yet he's smiling as if this was something he did on a regular basis. Shawn looks over at the tall guy in the sunglasses and grins his way.

"Of course not, but that's exactly why we should get involved!" He conspiratorily whispers. "We're neutral third parties. No one can accuse us of papayas or whatever."

Bias. He completely meant the word bias. Shawn's grin widens.

"We're the perfect candidates to go in! Come on, man, I need a partner."

[Everything felt like a surreal dream at the moment. Every part of him felt as if it were weighted down. The last few hours alone had taken what seemed to be the last of his strength. The disease had left his body but he still felt the mind-numbing exhaustion eating away at him. Only sheer determination kept him on his feet walking down the street towards the housing he had apparently been assigned to, pistol tucked in a pocket of his coat. Not that it would do much good if he encountered a remanent right now.

He heard the sound of many people gathered nearby but he stayed out of direct sight as he figured out a way around. All that changed when suddenly there was a camera in his face and someone pulled him towards the crowd. He was about to reach for the pistol but paused as he took in the scene in the plaza.

No one seemed to know who he was so far. No one was calling for his head yet. But he still needed to escape this place- his experience with mobs wasn't the best even if they didn't seem unruly or violent at the moment. Someone had a camera in his face while voices around him were asking questions about his personal life and trying to get him to do a dating match thing. He had no intention of answering any of their questions or indulging in any kind of nonsense.

He wasn't listening though, he was looking for an escape as he calculated his options.]

[ at this point he should be pretty well used to being hauled around by the nose by strangers. and maybe he is - but this is really on another level. no one is actually in trouble, they're just all over him and he is NOT a fan.

especially not with these cameras. like, he's kind of got enough worries right now? but no amount of gentle (for him) rebuffing seems to be taking effect. they ask cloud, can we cal you cloud? and he says no, and they say cloud, are you seeing anyone, do you have a special someone? and he tries walking faster, saying i told you that you couldn't call me that, and that's none of your business. but their business is his business, and so on, and so on, until he has enough and stops humoring them at all.

he's shoving his way through the crowd to get the hell out of here and back to his room. ]

( Annabeth is already in a foul mood by the time she reaches the park. It's ( mostly ) not the fault of anyone here. Sure, the photos haven't exactly helped, but the root of her issues come squarely from home.

It's not their fault, she reminds herself calmly, and when she smiles for the next picture it's only half-forced.

She's managed to weave herself away from the worst of the device wielding photo grabbers, and Annabeth is just about to relax when another hand lands on her. She doesn't blow up at them, because that would be inappropriate. Instead she turns with all the patience in the world — right up until she sees what they're doing. )

( Apologies for the poor sucker that wandered near enough to end up Annabeth's 90%, because she's tearing up that voucher like it insulted her personally. )

( Frankly, her heart isn't in this. It's not great, and Annabeth is aware that maybe tanking her reputation half a second after arriving isn't the smartest move, but that doesn't make it any easier when she's supposed to be running around with a net and catching...bug robot things. Some quest.

Still she's trying to muster up something, which is why Annabeth swallows her pride and starts catching the destructive little robots again.She'll even oh so enthusiastically (ha) call out to anyone else around, totally making an effort to engage:)

Luke feels weirdly disconnected, untethered from his world, ever since he got here. He feels like a weighty presence over his shoulder has been forced to draw back. No guesses what that is.

He wanders the streets with an amiable smile on his face, even as his eyes keenly seek out anything that might present him with answers, his weapon at the ready for when he might come across more of those bugs. The sight and sound of Annabeth calling out freezes him in place.

It's definitely her, but she's- different, somehow. Older, he realizes with a jolt. Taller. Something harder in eyes. As if she hadn't seen enough already.

He smiles, loose and almost easy, and is honestly glad to see her.]

[ hostage negotiation, huh? not Reno's specialty. he tends to run his mouth off, get impatient, and send a delicate balance into a wild tailspin that usually ends in a rowdy shootout (which is of course just how he prefers it), but he's not incapable. he's fucking classically trained, he'll have you know, by the best there is and that means he is the best there is and you better stand aside. after getting the lowdown from the frankly embarrassingly incompetent local PD, Reno sighs and holds his hand out. ]

[ he means the megaphone, which he's duly granted possession of. it shrieks as he cuts on the speaker, earning more than a few winces around him, and loudly declares: ]

ALRIGHT, ROMEO, LET'S CUT THE BULLSHIT. WE GOT THE PLACE SURROUNDED. LET THE NICE LADY GO BEFORE I GOTTA COME IN THERE AND FUCK YOUR FACE UP. YOU REALLY WANNA PLAY THESE GAMES TODAY, MAN?

[ Reno lowers the megaphone, swiping his bangs out of his eyes. ]

[ any (un)lucky import sorry enough to be sat down at the booth will find the other seat already occupied. Reno's having an absolute shrieking BLAST with this today. it seems that although he isn't used to it, the attention and praise has gone straight to Reno's head, and he's indulging the eagerness of his new fans by playing along with the matchmaker machine. he's managed to sway some of the locals into taking a vote on who, out of five, his real best match is (he figured it out after the first two he got pushed into trying out were the exact same), and sits with his chin in his hand, waiting to be paired off with a smile and a pair of eyes that'd melt wax. fiery, intense, just a bit dangerous and untrustworthy. ]

Mm, I dunno, you guys think this is the one, really?

[ the crowd is all a-flutter. one girl shrieks as she pulls the lever to test the match. one thing's for sure, he's figured out how to work the crowd. this is only round three and yet, somehow, he's got a stack of coupons piled up on the table next to him. sure enough, here's another fated pair! Reno's grin looks more like predatory big cat than friendly, but that's alright. ]

Wow... wouldja look at that. Another winner.

[ tragically, he's lost his memories of this place he so nobly defended from the heartless and had begun to loosely think of as home, but perhaps the impression in our hearts aren't so easily made to fade away? (nah yeah it's bs, he's just a creature of habit.) Reno emerges from the very same liquor store he frequented in his several months as a resident with a pack of cigarettes and a lighter, looking just a bit bewildered as to how and why the girl at the register a) was so happy to see him and b) knew his first name. he's so distracted by it that, as he's lighting his cigarette and glancing unsurely over his shoulder as he leaves, he walks right into a fucking lamp post. [ De Chima, Virginia because it is as close to home as it will ever be. De Chima because Matthew felt like it was the right thing to do. He started to ask around - seeing where could find his brothers - up until he got caught up in various forms of social media. People include Matthew in their selfies. He smiles for the pictures, the perfect kind. It’s beaming, heavenly. It’s wide and it shows up into his big, blue eyes. It’s a contagious smile, infecting everyone around him. ]

Is this for real, [ Matthew laughs, looking at his test results. They've figured out his perfect match, apparently. ]

[Samuel's not sure who he feels worse for: the old woman or the robber. Judging from the look on the floating man's face, or at least what he can tell from way down here, he suspects the robber's having a rough time of it himself. The old lady has a set of lungs on her that'd make the gulls jealous, so he suspects she'll recover from this little robbery just fine. The robber, on the other hand, he'd be lucky if he ends up with bones left should he find himself plummeting down to earth.

He gets the feeling from the barcode on his neck that he's meant to stop the robber, help the woman, some kind of heroic act.

Thing is, Samuel's never been much of a hero. He sure doesn't think of himself as one, even if he's got some kind of power here. The old lady can get herself a new purse easily enough, but the robber can't get himself a new body, now can he?]

Begging your pardon, kid, but if you don't go floating off too far, I'm sure I could help you get your feet back on the ground. And that'd be without breaking them, either.

Dracula has been minding his own business. No, really. Being stuck on a new world, settling in with a new diet, and having to figure out where and how he can even subsist here, he had been finding it odd to be in a world where people were fans of his. Yes, some of that had started back home, but never like this!

He was in a store, choosing an umbrella, and shades, when the fight broke out. At first, he was going to stay out of it, but when he spots children in danger, all thoughts of doing so go away.

"Children, this way!"

And he is darting out into the sun, umbrella raised high, eyes going red, as he moves at full speed.

As the robot comes flying his way, he snarls, and hits it, a tap, really, as he yelps, and it goes flying into a buss nearby.

"Children! Into the store, please. yes, all of you. yes, I know, I have red eyes and talk strangely." Sigh. Why are children? But he tries to chase them in while hitting any robots that come too close and not interfering with the nice strong lady's fight.

Jin Zixuan - The Untamed

[ Jin Zixuan was a visitor to this land. Still getting his bearings. Only a day ago he had been in Carp Tower, awaiting his betrothed's return from her errand in Yiling. And now here he is, in a strange world, unable to even welcome her home. A part of him is worried he may not return in time for their wedding, or even worse, may not return ever. But he tries not to concern himself with those worries. Better to find his footing in this new land and be the best representative of the Jin clan that he can be.

He asks around to see where he can obtain food, and is told of the existence of "grocery stores," some sort of indoor market where food and other goods are sold. He seeks one out, only to find its way barred by the local militia. Confident as ever, he strides up to one of the men in the odd looking uniforms. ]

What is the meaning of this blockade? Why may we not go inside?

[ The officer, sensing that this man dressed in robes and carrying a sword must be an imPort, explains as calmly as he can that there is a hostage situation happening inside, and that they dare not enter, lest they risk the lives of the hostages.

It is a dilemma indeed. Zixuan is unsure of whether he should interfere and fight this hostage taker, or whether he should stay out of what is really not his business. He is hungry, and will need to buy food eventually.... What a conundrum! ]

Nonah –

This city seems much less fraught than the southern city he visited earlier, and look! There are markets right out on the street! These markets seem to be run by children, but that doesn't bother Zixuan. So long as he can buy food and drink. He purchases a cup of a sweet yet tart yellow beverage from a small girl, who tells him, "That will be one dollar please, mister!"

He doesn't know what dollars are, however, so he hopes that one silver coin will do. So he takes one out and hands it to the girl. Except it's not a coin as they appear in this world. It's a hunk of silver rock. The girl, thinking it must be some kind of rock candy, attempts to bite into it, and there is a telltale CRACK! and then a yelp of pain. The girl, now crying, points at Zixuan and starts yelling, "He broke my tooth! This mean imPort broke my tooth!"

Zixuan backs away, unsure of why the girl bit into the coin he gave her, or how to defend himself against a crying child.

"I-- I didn't... She shouldn't have bitten it. It wasn't me."

Wuxian doesn't often go to other cities, unless he needs something that Jeopardy or de Chima don't necessarily have to offer. But today he kind of is...almost...glad he'd ventured to Nonah.

Pain grips his heart and he rubs absently at his chest before taking a breath and doing his best to calm down. Here is no place to fall apart and...the crying finally has him pick up the pace, tucking the sweets away in his qiankun pouch for later.

"Aiyaa...what did you make her cry for?!" He pitches his voice to a teasing, playful tone as he scoops the child up to distract her. He can't look at this man though. Not full on.

Not right now. Not if he's going to soothe the hurt the little girl feels. He makes silly faces at her until soon she's giggling at him, earning her a warm smile as he sets her back on her feet and urges her back to her fellows. With a more appropriate form of coin, of course.

Wuxian absently brushes his hands together, braces himself, then glances over at Jin Zixuan.

"I know...I'm probably one of the last people you want to see here." He doesn't apologize, though it's hinted in his voice, in the lack of a smile.

this pathetic excuse of a villain - in her opinion, at least, and her opinion is worth its weight in gold - makes the mistake of his life when he tries grabs the poor woman's bag. while he's making his escape, he pushes past aurelia before bounding up into the air. his mistake is palpable on multiple levels; people in a ten-foot radius of the event will find the temperature start to drop rapidly. their breath turns to fog, goosebumps erupt all over. it gets to the point where the moisture in the air starts to turn to snow, all while aurelia is casually pulling a gigantic sniper rifle out of her pocket (?!?) and whistles an upbeat little tune as she casually aims it right at the guy floating away...

...maybe stop him from being shuffled off this mortal coil? or don't. either way, there's gonna be a mess. it's what vault hunters do best.]

Anyway, it's super impressive, and he grabs Mister Mars and sails back down to the ground with him, shoving him onto his knees with one hand firmly holding his head down.

[ The buildings are what Wolf notices first. They're intact, for one thing, not the crumbling, overgrown wrecks that she's used to scavenging from. She's staring at downtown De Chima in a mixture of horror and awe when the other huge difference between this world and home becomes glaringly apparent: the animals here are on leashes, or sticking their heads out of purses. None of them are people-sized, and it's at this point that Wolf has her third horrified realization of the day: there are way too many humans here.

It isn't just the furry wolf pelt that makes Wolf look like a cornered animal as the overzealous fans close in on her; she's tense and ready to bolt, glancing around for escape routes and holding her scorpion-stingered staff in front of her to put some distance between herself and the crowd. One of the teens in the group snaps a photo, and Wolf grimaces at the flash. ]

Don't.

[ The teen laughs it off, says something about how cute Wolf's little cloak is, and the phone goes flying as Wolf smacks it out of her hand with the staff. ]

[ Wolf is suspiciously eyeballing the kid's chocolate chip cookies like they've been rigged to explode. She's hungry, and reluctant to pass up a good meal, but money is relatively useless where she's from, and trading it for food seems so... stupid.

The kid starts going into a sob story about earning money for a new video game system, whatever that is, and Wolf mostly ignores him, leaning forward to give the cookies a cautious sniff. They don't smell like they've been tampered with, at least. Finally she drops a couple bills onto the counter and snatches the cookies out of the kid's hands before he can reconsider the deal. ]

[ Now this? This is almost fun. Wolf uses her staff like an extension of her body, whirling it around in a red, spiky blur that's either sending the tiny robots flying or smashing them into bits, and she moves like a ping-pong ball, bouncing off cars and buildings alike. It's been a long, frustrating day, and this is a cathartic way to burn off some stress.

That said, a few of the robots have skittered out of her reach, and she won't let that stand. ]

He's quick to approach whomever it is, smacking one of the nastier commenters on the back of the head without so much as stopping and playfully elbows the other imPort with a grin on his face, eyes bright behind obnoxious orange triangle sunglasses.] Yo, you got a plan on how to handle this since the police seem a little lost? Count me in if you do. Let's get this handled before it gets more blown up than it already is.

His free hand is held out in a "stop" sort of gesture, fingers splayed wide. He eventually gives in, laughing as he gently tries to turn down some of the kids.

It doesn't really seem to be making a dent. He spots someone else though, perhaps and waves.]

[Failed Villany isn't exactly something that Hizashi hasn't seen before, so while initially he's minimally wary of the... bargain bin looking villain, he finds himself standing up from his little cafe table when purse snatchery happens. By the time the villain is looking panicked, still floating up, up, up, Hizashi has a facial expression that's clearly a poorly disguised amused smirk.

Come on, really? The steady stream of cursing from such a small, unassuming old woman does Hizashi in, his smirk melting into shoulder shaking (but silent) laughter. Out of the corner of his eyes he notices someone else has stood up to either gawk or take action, and with eyebrows pinched and raised up on his forehead he turns to ask:]

Luckily, Raihan is PERFECTLY comfortable with cameras in his face, so even as others start to show up to take pictures as he shops, he's weathering that well, over all. In fact, if he sees someone struggling with the extra attention, no matter the reason he's quick to swoop in.

He might put his arm around their shoulders or with his absolutely ridiculous 6'8" height he chooses to loom behind the victim in order to good-naturedly intimidate the pesky photographers and autograph seekers. Either way he'll help shoo them away.]

Oi, oi, clear off! They've clearly had enough of it. Right, mate? [He grins over at who he's attempting to help with a friendly, open grin.] Besides we've got somewhere to be and can't be late.

[As the Villain slowly floats up and up Raihan is standing in the crowd that's gathering around the shouting, angry grandma, his hands stuffed comfortable into the pockets of his favorite hoodie. His eyes are focused on the villain, squinting against the light of the sun just a little. Huh. Looks like the guy's in a bit of a pickle, despite being so confident in his grandma robbery just minutes before.

Raihan fishes one of the pokeballs from the belt at his waist, and, after tossing it in his hand a couple of times, he releases Flygon with a press of the button on the device.]

Hey pal, wanna help out and pull this guy back down from midair?

[He's not even bothered when people move away in order to give the newly appeared pokemon a wide berth. Instead he just grins a sharp toothed smile as Flygon zooms off to try and help yank down the worst criminal ever from his sky prison.]

She flicks her wrist towards the pitiable Boxcutter Man before he can so much as stammer an excuse out, and a strand of (mostly inert) Life Fiber snaps out of her veins, wrapping around the "criminal." With a single yank, he's pulled to the ground, and Ryuko turns to salute the gawking onlookers... before her sleeve slips, revealing the big, fat "VIGILANTE" tattoo on her forearm.

Beat.]

Hello, officers? Mind... cutting me a little slack?

[She could definitely use some help here, considering the police presence. Or at least a good talking-to.]

[Ryuko faces a dilemma. On the one hand, both the guy and the old woman need a hero's help. On the other... she's still in her casual digs, and after her last brush with the police, she's learned how dangerous of a game vigilantism can be. If any cops got footage of Ryuko going after the villain without her costume on, she'd be donezo.

That being said, she did carry her costume (and scissors) in her guitar case with her everywhere. And so she furtively ducks into the nearest public bathroom, begins frantically pulling her tracksuit on over her shirt, and oh no did she leave the door unlocked?

Yes. Yes she did. And somebody just walked on in. Great.]

Buzz off. This isn't your business.

[And of course she falls back on intimidation, which makes her look even more shady. Fantastic.]

[Weird-Future-Except-Not America had its perks, in Ryuko's opinion—especially compared to her tenure in Honnouji or the ruins of Osaka. Being able to just walk into a bodega, grab some groceries, and walk away without having to swat away the reaching hand of some grimy gremlin trying to pickpocket her or watching for weirdos in uniforms trying to jump her was chief among them.

When Ryuko walks outside into the thick of a mantis storm, it's a relief to see things getting nonsensical again. Peaceful days in a well-developed and friendly city wasn't a thing Ryuko was used to, but this? She could handle this. Without a moment of hesitation, she shrugs her guitar case off her back, kicks it open while it's midair, and an absolutely massive pair of red scissors flies into her hands from within. Ryko separates them into two blades and begins striking out at the locusts with superhuman speed and precision.

Ryuko's Scissor Blades are nothing but lines of flashing red streaking through the air and slicing locusts clean in half- She coughs as one flies into her mouth, and Ryuko hacks it up like a cat heaving a hairball.]

That's it!

[The glove the government gave her wasn't a replacement for Senketsu, but it was good enough to get the job done. Ryuko pulls the pin stuck in the black glove's wrist with her teeth like a grenade, welcomes the familiar sting as it pricks a few droplets of blood, and rolls her neck.]

Life Fiber Human Enhancement: Senjin!

[Ryuko flexes, and red spikes erupt across her entire body. Sliding into a wide stance, Ryuko takes a deep breath, readies her blade, and becomes what can only be described as a three-dimensional human buzzsaw as she turns every mantis near her into mincemetal.

Maybe somebody should tell her that there's a reward for bringing these things in intact.]

What are you standing there for, help me take these things down!

The strange-looking buggy parked on the street had been assumed to been part of the police presence, just another SWAT vehicle. Ironfist had been debating the best way to handle this villain in a way that limited injuries—he's good at making weapons, still a bit hesitant about using them himself—when Ryuko leapt in and taken care of things. But the VIGILANTE tattoo changes things rather significantly, including the mood of the local security force.

But anyone who takes down a villain like that has to be okay in this Wrecker's opinion. A hatch on the side of the buggy opens up. "Hey, in here!" A voice with a slight electronic tinge calls to Ryuko. "Time to go!"

The engine is already revving and now Ryuko has a few valuable seconds while the cops are distracted.

My name is Jonathan Sims, and I'm the head archivist of the Magnus Institute in London, England. [ the only part of that statement that's strictly true anymore is his name, and given what happened, what he did, he's not even sure he can say that anymore. he's the archive, after all, isn't he? ]

The Magnus Institute is an academic institution dedicated to researching the esoteric and paranormal, and the archives take, research, and file statements from those that come into the building with paranormal experiences they wish to unburden themselves of. [ it feels surreal to explain all of this as if nothing's wrong, as if the institute really is exactly what it's presented itself as for over a hundred and fifty years. still, needs must. ]

I'm not a therapist or a counselor, but if you're interested in committing your experience(s) to paper, I'd be interested in collecting them. Some people find catharsis in the act. [ there's someone--something--watching. staring, gaze heavy and eerie, and apparently coming from everywhere. whatever it is, it knows you've had a run in with something awful, and it wants your fear and trauma. it's so, so hungry, and somehow, you know it'll rip it out of you if it has a chance.

and then you see it, see him, standing just out of reach. small and skinny, scarred and swaying faintly in apparent exhaustion. static passes over the dark eyes beneath glasses, hands curled into tight fists at his sides.

it's all he can do not to Ask, but as eyes meet his own, jon sucks in a breath, and the heavy, terrifying effect of the beholding's regard dissipates. in a few moments, he's just a weary, slightly sick-looking man, expression pained and a little panicky. ]

God, I-- Are you alright? I didn't-- [ didn't what, jon? nearly rip someone's trauma out of them because you're feeling a little peckish? ]

[ sucks to be you, because the guy that's just been shoved toward you to match with is a small, skinny, scarred little fuck that looks like he hasn't eaten or slept in approximately six years. he's shaking like he's in withdrawal--which isn't all that inaccurate, actually--and his eyes, which are very wide behind his glasses, occasionally pulse with static.

Ironfist/"Fisitron" (Transformers IDW G1 2005)

Ironfist catches a lot of attention when he pulls up in buggy form only to transform into his robot mode. Being a giant, transforming robot earns him a fair amount of attention from the locals, which is difficult, mostly because he's so unused to getting this kind of attention he doesn't really know what to do with it, and because he really wants to see this tech that's being unveiled. Still, he does his best to accommodate people.

Finally, with the crowd making some space, he kneels down near the machine to be tested. "Can we talk shop later?" He asks one of the scientists as his scan is performed. "I'd be really interested to know more about this device works." He rubs the back of his head, being careful of what looks to be a bullet hole in his helmet. The cerebro-shell isn't there anymore, but he hasn't tried to have it fixed yet. Mostly he just doesn't want to think about it right now.

"Do you have any openings at your research facility? I can, uh, I mean I don't have any of my old inventions here except for my Lightformer cannon but I'd be really interested in—" The scan is finished; already a number of other people have already got their matches; Ironfist's audio receptors are picking up a lot of matches, which seems statistically improbable. Maybe he shouldn't have been so eager to ask about job opportunities. Taking the slip gingerly between thumb and forefinger, he holds the (for him) ridiculously tiny piece of paper close to his optic to read.

Then he looks down at you. "I wouldn't put too much stock in this, honestly." He says apologetically. "But if you want to get lunch, I'd enjoy the conversation. Though I'll probably have to wait in the parking lot. And I don't eat organic food, but...hey, more for you, right? You wanna go?"

Maurtia Falls

The buggy zooms up the road as Mister Mars begins to panic in his ascent. Transforming in one smooth motion into a run, he makes a running leap to catch the would-be supervillain, only for Mister Mars to only brush against his fingers, sending Ironfist tumbling. He staggers to his feet, and begins to look around. "It's okay! We'll get you down! Uh, so we can arrest you! For stealing!" He calls, trying his best to keep the villain calm when he's obviously a bit panicked himself. Looking around, he spies the buildings lining the streets. Maybe if he climbs one he can grab Mister Mars before he floats away too high. Yeah, that's a good idea.

Or it would be if the street wasn't further in a panic thanks to the military-seeming buggy suddenly transforming into a giant robot in the middle of the street. In a town where imPort relations are already bad this is probably the last thing people need, which Ironfist seems to have not noticed in his focus on the "supervillain".

"Uh, don't worry ma'am, we're the Wreckers. I mean, I'm the Wrecker. A Wrecker. I'll get your bag back." He says to the screaming old lady before rushing towards the nearest building, a convenience store to begin to climb.

Now the robot is talking about wrecking stuff. This could go bad.

Jeopardy

Ironfist stands in the middle of the swarm examining them. "Huh, so they're basically like Scraplets..." He mutters to himself as they flutter around him; fortunately Cybertronian sentio metallico seems not to be their favourite as the few who have landed on him have apparently not found Ironfist a suitable meal. He can already feel a brainwave coming on for how these machines can be weaponized, and Ironfist has already found those creative impulses hard to ignore; it's what's led to some of his unfortunately best weapons.

He sees you by his foot. "Listen, I don't need organic food but if I help you catch some of these machines will you let me take a few as samples? I really think these things are worth studying." He offers, watching the machines swarm around crunching up any wood or plastics they can get their hands on. Oh, he has got to study these things!

Jeopardy and also HI THERE!!

Ironfist may find that the Jeopardy natives seem just a little less taken aback by his root mode presence than some of the other cities have been, and the reason for that just happens to be rolling up to the curb. After months of being the only Cybertronian imPort, suddenly seeing another is startling but incredibly welcome.

Even if that is a very prominent Autobot badge centered on the mystery mech's chassis. Not for the first time, Knock Out is glad he's unbranded, if only because the inevitable check for an emblem usually buys him some time with the trigger-happy ones.

How did Riptide do this? Oh, right, bribery. Let's go with that.

Knock Out reverts back to mech form with a winning smile and an easy approach. The unlucky metallic insects that happened to be scuttling across the pavement are crunched underfoot, but the swarm is a secondary concern right now.

"Worth studying and about to find out there's a well-equipped place to do so? It sounds like your lucky day."

she sighs, pats the old lady on the shoulder, uses phasetrance on the guy to knock him back and trap him in a siren bubble, then slams him down into the ground with a fist. six spectral arms have formed behind her, covered in the same runes that glow along her skin. they're an electric blue; she hadn't seen reason to change element for this.]

It's not as lawless as somewhere like Pandora, for sure, but this city has a certain charm to it that he can't help appreciate, full of shady characters and easy money... pity he's retired.]

[All that glowing is unmistakable and easy to spot, a nice bit of familiarity for him to gravitate towards with a small smirk and an attempt at swagger. The fact he's in the same get up as always either suggests he's not bothered to change while being here, or he's a total fucking newbie.

Sephiroth | Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core? Pre-Remake? IDK, he’s from before Nibelheim

[ The crowd outside the store didn’t gain Sephiroth’s attention at first - figuring out where he was, how he’d gotten there, and if this was somehow another of Hojo’s damn experiments took priority - but it wasn’t long before the murmurings broke through his concentration and he looked up.

Two men about twenty feet away were snickering about “damn good pussy” with each other and Sephiroth tuned into the rest of the crowd to identify what was happening.

His eyes scanned the crowd - did these people have nothing better to do? - and he almost dismissed the portly officer holding some sort of voice amplifier as unimportant before realizing the other officers on scene were deferring to him.

Curiosity but wary, one never knew what crazy bullshit Hojo’s mind would come up with, Sephiroth moved down the block to join the crowd and learn the full scope of the situation, but he almost immediately wished he hadn’t bothered. All this fuss over a man with a box cutter? Were the public safety officers here really so untrained they couldn’t handle such a minor matter?

Sephiroth checked the bracer on his wrist, confirming Time was where he remembered, before stalking forward. The crowd parted around him seemingly without notice as he made his way towards the officers and he paused as he drew even with the public safety officers ]

I hope this isn’t a true display of the abilities of those tasked with this city’s safety.

[ Cat green eyes raked over the man from behind silver hair before he continued forward. ]

[ Sephiroth is used to the presence of media, one doesn’t spend the better part of ten years as President Shinra’s prized propaganda tool without learning how to deal with crowds and cameras, but this was a bit much.

He couldn’t take a single step without brushing someone else, and each time he made contact the other person would begin rambling about compatibility percentages and soulmates.

‘Genesis would have loved this attention.’

He attempted to shove the thought aside, to bury the hurt that his friends hadn’t even bothered to ask him to go with them, but it persisted. Perhaps that’s why he didn’t notice the figure who’d been pushed into his path until they’d collided. SOLDIER reflexes kicked in and Sephiroth grabbed ahold of their arm, steadying the, so they wouldn’t fall. ]

I apologize. I didn’t mean to run into you.


Nonah

[ He wasn’t exactly sure how it happened, was relatively sure he’d simply blinked, but somehow he found himself with one arm weighed down by various baked goods and the other hand clutching some form of pale yellow drink. He could only blink at his burden and idly muse that if Shinra has hired any half as competent as these children that they wouldn’t have had to go to war over a reactor they never even built. Godo would have agreed without realizing what he was doing.

A rhythmic tugging on his hair pulled his attention back to his surroundings and Sephiroth began to turn his head to see what was happening before a young voice piped up ]

Stop it mister! You’ll mess up my braid!

[ Sephiroth is mainly just wandering around the cities attempting to figure out if this is real or a weird hallucination since he’s pretty sure he was just dealing with a hyperactive SOLDIER doing more squats then he knew one person could do. So feel free to hit him up. ]

[He had thought he had found a shortcut back to his apartment, frowning as he turned his phone to try to get an idea of where he was going. Rude had been right- this city was arranged in the most impractical and nonsensical manner. Midgar wasn't perfect but at least it was easier to get around.

But it's a relief to be able to be by himself finally, though Reno and Rude were keeping track of him. He was preoccupied with trying to find directions on his phone when he heard a kid protest about their braid being ruined.

That is when he saw those green eyes with flashes of silver which had haunted his nightmares for the last couple of years. Kadaj had been just a lost child looking for his mother but this was Sephiroth himself. Even if he called Reno and Rude immediately they wouldn't be able to get to him in time.

For a moment he stared, unable to make the connection between the Sephiroth he was familiar with the SOLDIER who was patiently getting his hair braided by a young child. His heart was beating hard, he felt almost out of breath but he forced himself to remain outwardly composed. He could run and hide but he knew it was only a matter of time before he couldn't avoid seeing him.

It was best to do this on his own terms. He wouldn't show fear. He even smiled politely as he approached, keeping his phone in his hand.]

Sephiroth. This truly is quite a surprise.

The East Asian-looking woman with long long hair and pale robes stares at the spectacle in the street, then arches an eyebrow as she watches the man float up, and up...

Then she throws her head up and laughs, moving already to unsheathe the sword from her back ... and, fancy that, set it floating so she can step on it and gloat up after him.

"You don't really know what you're doing, do you. Come, let me take you down. This goes back to the lady it belongs to, though, all right?"

Amused she may be, but she is going to take absolutely no nonsense about this. Whatsoever.

Cangse Sanren has her platinum net, all right. But she seems far from rushed about the whole collecting creatures part. Instead, she's crouched gracefully by the road, poking at one of the robots, trying to figure out what it does, and why. And if there is a spark of spiritual energy here and there, well.

Tseng | FFVII Remake

[ This is A Lot. Tseng never before had the occasion to intimate himself with his pure and utter hatred for waking up in places unfamiliar to him. His mood is grim when he is finally released to the streets, one hand on the wrist that is marked now but was not before. His autonomy and his person have been disrupted. It has been a very long time since he was forced to confront helplessness on this scale.

The next thing to go, he posits, is his sanity. A man is floating into the sky. A woman is waving her cane. None of this makes any fucking sense. He has officially had it up to here with every ounce of this bullshit. ]

Pardon me.

[ He rests a comforting hand on the woman's shoulder. He takes the cane and does a quick equation in his head, speed and resistance and wind all variably accounted for in one quick instant. The cane is pitched, and the man makes a comical gurgle as he sails through the sky.

Tseng follows the shadow of the bag and catches it, returning it swiftly to its correct owner. Now his curiosity is piqued, though, and he's leaving her on the side of the road, rushing after the contrail the floating man has cut through the sky. ]

Nonah, North Carolina 

[ Ignore this one. Tseng is simply too busy for you. Presently, he is sitting criss-cross apple sauce, opposite a young pig-tailed girl who is pouring lemonade into teacups. Her name is Gracie. They are deep in conversation; Tseng has a stuffed bear in blue overalls, and he is walking it across a table to illustrate a point. ]

And this is why we must diversify our stock portfolios, Gracie.

[ says Mr. Sunshine, his head waving limply as Tseng lifts him up and down.

"And never, ever pool our assets!" Gracie exclaims, learning quickly.

Tseng isn't the best voice actor, but he sounds pleased enough when he and Mr. Sunshine unanimously exclaim: ]

Jeopardy, Nevada 

[ Jeopardy, at least, feels a little more like home. A world resplendent in pink and stark-white neon, with tidy little eager-to-please shops lining wide open streets. Nothing strange has happened here. Tseng is practically about to count his blessings.

He knows better, though, and as always, his paranoia is immediately cemented by the realization that no one is around. All the shops are closed; the roads are conspicuously empty. For a moment, he wonders if he's wandered into a ghost town. The apparitions playing hide-and-go-seek in the corners of his periphery make it seem all the more so.

Then, he sees them. They come in waves, like the roving things from the floors of the Shinra building that he tries with all his might to avoid. He has his pistol drawn before they begin to clitter-clack his way, but honestly, what good is it going to do when there are so many of them?

Someone explodes from a door to his right, very nearly earning themselves a bullet between the eyes in the process. Yelling something about a coupon? Tseng waves his free hand dismissively and kicks the door closed in the man's face. ]

Quiet! Get back inside!

Well. This is something. Alex lingers, watching, a frown crinkling his brow. He isn't exactly afraid of cops, for the most part, but for the most part he also has at least one secret service agent at his back. He's not First Son, here. He doesn't have to worry about anyone trying to take a shot at him to get at President Claremont. Most people don't even know who she is.

Which means here, he's just some random brown guy. An extremely handsome brown guy, yes, but one without Amy or Cassius or any of Henry's PPOs around. It's a kind of vulnerability he hasn't felt in a long time.

On the other hand, he's a superhero now?? And he's met someone who was literally purple since getting here. So maybe the rules don't apply in the same way. Whatever. He still doesn't trust cops, and from what he's overhearing, they've turned out in WAY bigger numbers than the situation seems to call for.

He glances over at the nearest person. "Does this kind of thing happen a lot?"

This much, he knows how to handle. Throngs of screaming fans, paparazzi, even some bystanders just getting swept up in the madness. They're excited because he's an imPort, not because he's America's First Son and favorite heartthrob, but it's all about the same. He tosses out the smile that got him on the cover of GQ in 2017.

"Sure I'll sign your face. No, you can't have my phone number, but you can follow me on Bwitter. Kind of assuming that I wear underwear at all, isn't it?"

He winks, then excuses himself. It's not as easy to ditch them when he doesn't have Cassius or Amy to threaten anyone who tries to follow or whisk him into a car, but he's still pretty good at losing himself in the crowd. At least, he hopes he is. Some fans are smarter than others.

Urianger desperately, desperately wishes he had his aetherometer goggles on him to see how this machine works. He doesn't though, and more's the pity because that means that he's hovering as inconspicuously as an over six foot tall elezen in a hood and sunglasses can. Which is... not very well at all really.

"Twould seem that matters of the heart are but matters of technology... though I wonder if such a device is accurate in full or simply a charlatan's ruse." he mutters, seeing yet another 90% match pop out of the booth and a coupon distributed. "Faleshood or truth, it seems an intrusion of matters best left to the privacy of the whispers of the heart twixt those who feel love's call."

He turns to the person beside him, head tilted curiously beneath his hood. "What say you, should this be stopped or allowed? Tis likely harmless enough."

Maurtia Falls

Still in a hood, though the sunglasses are missing, Urianger sighs and not so gently yoinks the floating man down from his height with a flick of a wrist and a twist of magic. He keeps a hand on the man's shoulder, pale gold eyes sharp beneath the shadow of his hood. "The only one thou hast a chance of bringing harm to is thineself." he says sharply, before bowing to the irate lady.

"Forgive me, My Lady, I shall hold him whilst thou continue thy admonishment."

He's not going to stop a nice old lady from ripping this fool a new one. Nope.

Nonah

Guess who's not hiding beneath a hood and sunglasses? Urianger. He is, in fact, wearing a set of dark blue robes and a rather fair amount of gold jewelry that only barely covers his arms. He'd been on his way to...something when the distraction of children interested in selling him things became just that. A distraction.

Which he's only added to by way of amusing some of the younger ones with starry sparkles of magic and an infinite patience for explaining things.

And flashy card tricks.

"Tis the ewer, held by the Scholar Thalik and within is held all the knowledge of the world both that which has been and that which is yet to come." He explains to a gaggle of them, a card flashing large above him. "From it pours all the magic spun upon the loom of the goddess Nymeia."

It doesn't take tech analyzing goggles to tell that this whole thing is a scam. David, who didn't intend to be here and who had been recognized for who and what he was. An imPort. An imPort with an unfortunately growing social media presence and the occasional camera person following him.

Oh, and the technologically minded awareness that had one woman, a self-professed 'Biggest Fan Ever', pulling him toward the mess to get his opinion on it. One woman had gone so far as to insisting to test with him, which David had refused, and manged to get out of it by offering to sign her coupon if she went with someone else.

Since she's bounced off to find someone to test with to get that autograph, David turns his head toward the... non-standard speech patterns of the man next to him.

"It's most definitely a con. My expectation would be that the place the coupon is for has inflated their prices to make a bit more, even with a discount. I'd stop it but... Well, I'm pretty sure my agent would hit me over the head with a newspaper if I did."
