aww yeah it's question meme time
Time to bring back one of my old faves...

Simple and easy! Here's how it goes:
1. POST a top-level with your character name
2. REPLY to other people's top-level with a question for that character
3. ANSWER the question you were asked
4. ASK a question of that person's characters in return!
We go back and forth like this asking questions in a thread until one or both of us runs out of questions!
QUESTIONS CAN BE ANYTHING. Serious or silly as you want! What does Jane think of (x)? What does Sarah have for breakfast? How many times a day does Alex masturbate? What's Tom's dream job? The only limit for questions is your imagination.
Replies can be as monosyllabic or as tl;dr are you want; it's up to you. Go wild kids!

her favorite type of fashion in this or any world is catherine deneuve in the hunger. 40s style through an 80s goth filter, kanaya is here for this.
where does greed see business going with the nest? just a productive way to spend his time, or does he have any grander plans for it down the line?

It's mainly a place where he can gather henchmen, possessions, friends if we keep that a dirty little secret. It's a way for him to rebuild what he lost, to go back to the way things used to be. On the other side, his main objective is learning more about the Porter. How it works, what kind of power it holds, etc. And I'd be lying if I said he doesn't plan to take it or, at the very least, try to.
What's one thing Kanaya would change about herself, given the chance?

tell me about greed's possessions, how he feels about them. is it all about the accumulation, or does he show any kind of scrutiny in what he takes, getting the best things to bring him even more?

He really goes for outcasts. That's always been his flavor of the week and he's sticking to it. It might not be shown very often, but he does care for his possessions - considers them friends, even if he is still a bit stubborn to say that out loud. They're the thing that he chose; the life that he decided outside of what him and his siblings were made to be. His possessions are a proof of that difference that sets him apart from the rest and he wouldn't let anything happen to them. Government-bullshit forbid. A lot of it is accumulation, but he won't take in someone who isn't a bit loyal.
What's Kanaya's favorite holiday? Why? And on the flip side, what or who would she want the Porter to bring back more than anyone?

being a hopeless romantic, she's always had a special fondness for valentine's day. back in the city, she used to keep a greenhouse full of flowers just to sell for then, making bouquets to represent each alternian quadrant. the red ones got a lot more play than the rest, for obvious reasons. nowadays, it's just an excuse to dote on her girlfriend more than she might otherwise, but she'll never pass up that opportunity.
if she could pick any one person to come back? jeez, that's a tough one. someone who was otherwise dead, someone she would never see again otherwise, possibly not from her universe. minako arisato, possibly. on the other hand, someone from rose's family, maybe roxy or dave, because she knows how much they mean to her, how much she misses them. even if rose would rarely admit it, kanaya knows how lonely she is without them.
how does greed feel about his other siblings, and lust especially? i know the two of them keep an eye on each other from a distance here, but i'd love to hear more about their relationship.

Lust is smart, clever - Greed recognizes that. Can't deny it. Out of 'em all, she's a bit more underhanded. Manipulative. But they do go a bit hand and hand, least that's my perspective. The Ultimate Spear and the Ultimate Shield. He can tolerate her at a distance and he's not interested in fighting her. Wouldn't be worth it and there's no point. This would kind of be the same with both Gluttony and Sloth. Gluttony is more of a dim-wit that follows orders, etc. He's not too worried about him unless shit really hits the fan and Sloth kind of falls into the same boat.
Leaving Envy, Wrath, and Pride.
Envy is one he doesn't like just on principle. Greed often calls him ugly and tries to bring out Envy's nastier side. It's more of a goading than anything else; the bigger brother mentality on a higher scale. Greed doesn't like him at all and hey, it's a mutual feeling. Pride is a creature even Greed himself has said, "Even I call him a monster." Which should speak some volumes. Pride makes Greed on edge. Everything about it him makes him on edge.
And then comes Wrath. He hates Wrath the most; Wrath slaughtered his previous possessions and destroyed the original Devil's Nest with conviction. Wrath stole everything Greed had and he's never gotten a chance to really get the vengeance he deserves there. Wrath shows up and it's done. It's the only real time we've seen Greed actually angry and that should say something.
FUN FAMILY ...
How about Kanaya and her "family"? How does she feel about it?

she had her lusus, who she considers her mother over anyone else. they had over thirteen years together, and if she ever felt she owed anything to anyone, it would be her. that made losing the matriorb a very personal failure for her. she hadn't only failed her duty to secure a future for everyone else, she broke a promise. she made her mother's death meaningless, and she'd never properly dealt with losing her then, either. she'd kept going on momentum up until then, knowing that it had to happen so that she could do her important job. losing her, losing the matriorb, it was devastating. like the rug slipped out from under her and the whole purpose of her life was gone.
her biological mother is someone she never knew, but she did meet an alternate version briefly. it was a little surreal, porrim was essentially the person she wishes she was, more together and successful. she still had some level of hope, even if she was long dead, and she tried to instill that in kanaya, too. but that was two years ago, and with all that time between them, she isn't so sure of her. they come from different worlds and different circumstances, and her confidence in porrim's insight into her own situation is a hard to buy. she talked about freedom, when kanaya's never really known freedom. just duty and survival.
she does have one thing close to family, and that's karkat. their relationship has rarely felt in line with felt in line with quadrants, aside from ash sometimes, but they have gradually come to accept each other as something close to siblings. it hasn't been easy, and they've always had their problems, both separately and together, but when they support each other they do much better.

That's really interesting. I know a little about Homestuck, but this is a great elaboration.
