01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

Hi, Buffy, I'm Jack Frost. [ With a friendly nod, though he doesn't offer a hand to shake. Lightly, he amends, ] I'd say it's nice to meet you, but under the circumstances ...

Jack Frost, huh? Does this heat-miser stuff bother you? [ she can't help it. this is who she is. ]

I feel like I should take offense, but yeah. Getting kidnapped kind of sucks, no matter how many times it happens to a person.

[icy]

I wouldn't say no to a little air-conditioning right now, I'll say that.

[ Instead of being herded around. Man, he is not moving from this spot until his migraine abates after whatever they did to his head. ]

Do you ... get kidnapped often?

[ That sure is a question. ]

Being a Californian, I'm no stranger to a little central air. Hopefully they'll be kind enough to blow on our tent or whatever passes for the new MAC. [ she says it like it's spelled bc she doesn't remember what it stood for anyway. ]

... If I say 'yes' will you get on the judge-train?

[icy]

[ Yeah, that. Technology, wow, such MAC. Just going to smile and nod, but that's before he cracks a real chuckle and shakes his head. ]

I'm more of a Do What You Want, Just Don't Be A Jerk bus-guy, myself. You're safe.

[ okay that was cute. she blinks a few times, then chuckles softly. ] I've been on that bus before. It's definitely less stenchy than the rest.

My safety wasn't so much on the concern-o-dile, though. I can hold my own against creep-os. ...Which you're proving yourself not to. Be.

[icy]

I'm not a creep? Man, I was really worried about slipping up with that today ...

[ His grin widens with a demure laugh, glancing away and then back at Buffy. Jack's fingers idly rap on his staff where it rests against a shoulder as the small-talk eases his nerves. ]

At least now we know who to grab public transport with. That's always important.

See? You're like, totally on top of this.

[ she eyes the staff but it doesn't seem to bother her since they've already established he's not a creep and they're like super subway buddies or something. wait. ] ...Does Florida even have subways?

[icy]

I ... don't know. Usually I just kinda — [ He makes a swimming motion with his hand, although it's definitely more intended as floaty. Or something. ] — fly over.

You...fly. Because you're...Jack Frost. [ this is so much right now. ]

If you really are -- that guy, can't you just sprinkle around some cold?

[icy]

[ That guy. Deeply amused, his smile softens a fraction as thoughtfulness seeps in with a shrug. ]

Yeah, but not everyone enjoys the cold and there are a lot of people here I don't know.

[ He doesn't want to be a nuisance or scared anyone, highly conscious of himself. So, his hood is up, his ice is a little thicker around his bare feet and shoulders, and Jack prefers a little suffering to an en masse ice age. ]

[ oh... her gaze is directed down and suddenly she feels like she should be distracting him rather than trying to get him to fix this. isn't it her job to get this shit on the road? she's at least slightly more in the know.

[ A laugh bubbles up right from his stomach, delighted and amused. Jack angles a raised brow at her. ]

What, like gas? No, it's fine. [ Buffy, that's a little bit charming and how is he supposed to resist teasing you for that lovely concern, wow. ] It's who I am, like having a third arm you forget about after a while.

How do you forget about extra limbs? [ she wrinkled her nose, trying not to look too abashed by the whole thing. but then she's realizing her powers were much the same way. just an extension of herself. ]

I flew once too, you know. But it might have been fluke-ish.

[icy]

That was a bad description, uh. I've always had a link to winter, we're sort of connected. I doubt I'd forget in a hurry if I started sprouting stray limbs all over the place, that'd be one weird Guardian.

[ Never mind that Bunny has done that in the distant past, JACK HAS NO IDEA. He looks interested when she mentions fluke-flying. ]

Yeah, how come? Where'd you go?
