The Mistletoe Meme

It was a quiet moment in Heropa, FL, when the next devious plot of an unknown organization was realized. With the holiday season upon all the town, bundles of mistletoe with interference technology hidden in the festive bows and pins holding them together was distributed throughout the town and into all the residences of the imPorts.

The interference technology creates a stasis field keeping imPorts trapped underneath it, protecting the mistletoe itself with a small barrier. However, it only seems able to hold two people at a time, and and the reaction of the nanites to sudden changes in chemistry brought on by embracing or kissing brings the stasis field crashing down, leaving the mistletoe vulnerable to destruction at that time.

It's up to you, imPorts, to break free of these mistletoe traps and destroy all the mistletoe in Heropa!

[ Hey look it's that guy. That Minho guy who's good friends with Newt and Thomas, and also the one of those three (plus that other young woman) who's been here longest. Who doesn't have a lot of foresight in dealing with sparring to kill time.

These would be the extent of her thoughts on Minho if it weren't for the fact in trying to bypass him in this doorway, she finds she. Can't. This is weird enough to remind her of the shields she can generate that Annie actually starts to frown as she adjusts her messenger bag, reaching out to press her hand against something that isn't expressly there. ]

[ Hey Winry how're you doing? Annie hopes your day has been a lot more sensible than hers has, though she finds it odd that she's standing there in the middle of the aisle in the... library. Sure. There. ]

[ You were asking for this. Annie is holding a full length mirror she was carting out the door to the sidewalk after being waylayed for assistance when. Suddenly. Stuck in a freaking doorway again??? ]

[ On the upside, Yang, you're getting a wonderful reflection of yourself right back atcha. ]

[ Those thoughts in summation sure sound judgmental to him! Or would if he was privy to her thoughts, which admittedly he isn't. They're not particularly judgmental either, he's just still sore about the whole losing to Killua deal.

He doesn't have much of any thoughts passing by her in the meantime. Well, he doesn't until he finds he can't actually pass her, and immediately jumps to inaccurate conclusions. ]

Wait, hold on let me fix my lip gloss. I mean, mirror's here and all.

[Leaning forward to do just that, she peeks over the edge of the mirror, spotting a familiar grumpy face, and grins.]

Oh- hey Annie! Want some help?

[ Which produces immediate results: namely, Annie glancing up his way with somewhat narrowed eyes. While she technically could, there's no benefit, and no actual feeling of when she's using her shields, so this isn't even a subconscious action on her part. ]

No. You?

[ Help with carrying the mirror or getting out of mistletoe range? ]

We have a whole office to move, if that's what you mean.

[ She says, breathing in and sighing internally as she exhales. She makes a visible effort to not look as irritated as she is by the situation. Man, if only these were her own shields, then she'd know it meant she needed to work on training, not. Whatever this BS is about! ]

[ Annie helpfully hands over the mirror. Who knows, maybe super strength will break this whole bond in the first place. It's a learning curve of "trial and error" that Annie doesn't find preferential, but hell, she'll roll with it. ]

[ And then wait to see if Yang can actually, you know. Move away. ]

[ Annie pauses. No... don't tell her... she glances around. ]

When did this start happening? Are you able to breathe normally?

I can breathe. And I was just walking...!

[Her eyes shift around nervously. She's hoping that Mr. Kimblee isn't around. Then again, maybe he'd caused this.]

[Except yes, big problem, because suddenly, no matter how had she tries, she can't move away. What the hell-?]

Uh... Annie? Do you know what's up right now? Cause I'm freakin' out a little- in, you know, a totally chill way.

[ It'd be a pretty weird subconscious action. Block people from just trying to walk through a door. No real point to that.

Minho lets out a long sigh and tries to walk forward again. Still nothing. Looking around to see if there's anyone nearby laughing at him. ]

[ it's not terribly unusual to see annie around the parks in heropa, especially not with Rex in tow. right now she's even sitting on a bench under an evergreen to the side of the path by a water fountain, Rex sniffing around the base of the tree at the end of his leash. annie's staring straight ahead, looking up and squinting into the branches every so often.

she was walking the freaking dog and there was mistletoe hidden in the branches of the tree? who the hell hangs this stuff there anyway?! lips pursing, she lets her gaze drop back down and surveys the people passing by. no one native here seems to have been pulled in by this stuff so far... is it targeting imPorts alone?

probably, but this is even more harebrained than some of the other imPort directed "attacks" in the past. ]

This is stupid.

[ Rex wags his tail. it's more her talking than him responding to the word stupid - she doesn't call him that - but hey, she's been quiet the last minute or so. ]
