The Headcanon Meme

I. Post with your character. If you've got a bunch, consider doing a catch-all under one header.

II. Poke other characters with questions. Ask about their childhood, crushes, their thoughts on game events. Anything you can imagine.

III. Answer questions people have left for you with your headcanon, or canon if it's been covered there.

IV. Feel free to go into as much or as little detail as you want.

Tell me about the sort of person he would have been if his mom hadn't kicked it.

One big difference between a canon Peter and an Earth-raised Peter would mostly be in his generosity. If his mother survived, she would have praised him for his kindness, his willingness to help others, while the Ravager lifestyle had tried to stamp it out of him. He'd still be a goofball, though. That's more or less guaranteed.

In all likelihood, since he kind of makes his life at being a goofball, he'd probably channel that into something creative, like acting. He'd probably have minor roles for a while, then land something on a TV show. Then against all the odds, he'd have a breakout hit where he starred as a dashing leading man in a sci-fi super hero movie with a quirky cast. He'd bulk up, and the world would realize he's actually very talented and--

Shit that's Chris Pratt.

REAL ANSWER. The first paragraph still holds.

Personality-wise, I think the biggest difference is an Earth-raised Peter will be more willing to show compassion, and he'd be more willing to stick his neck out for people. He'd be less obsessed with looking cool, wouldn't flirt nearly as much, and he'd just be a lot more comfortable in his own skin without needing to prove himself all the time. With a family that actually supports him, he could probably go on to do a lot of good. He's always had a generous streak, and I can imagine he'd want to help people -- maybe go into something in the medical field, either becoming a doctor or just getting into medical research (especially if his mom had been sick and just miraculously recovered; I imagine he'd idolize his mom's doctors if that were the case). Otherwise, his interest in space (thank you, Star Wars and Star Trek) might actually lead him to something in astronomy.
