It's that time again and why not start it off with a heart warming and tragic foreshadowing gif?

man, Owen is just so torn with Elsa. because on the one hand, she was actually helpful to him and showed him around when he was straight-up out of his element and he's forever grateful to her for that (and will certainly repay it with dinner + just being unreasonably helpful towards Elsa in future endeavors)

but on the other hand....she's kind of trashy. And like, the thing about Owen, is that he's mad boring and probably doesn't really do fun things. And Elsa's fun? So how does he react to someone who's all having fun and not caring and things like that, Owen just doesn't know. So there's always going to be this sort of "....we're doing this now? Okay" in their interactions. that being said, he's gonna judge her SO HARD when she fucks up the dinner, but he'll just be polite and not bring it up to her face. there's probably gonna be a lot of Owen apologizing for Elsa in the near future.

(Puck, on the other hand, probably thinks she's a riot)

HEY GURL oh man tucky is totally one of ramir's favorites right now. she can just smell the high school desperation to be in the "in group" on her, and she wants to use it to her advantage sooooo bad. mostly her plan is to try and make tiffany like her enough to want to want approval, then give that approval whenever tiffany does something ramir wants. you know, the usual aspiring villain affair. she seems like she'd make a really useful minion! and ramir is awful. it's a good combination.

Sabriel mostly sees Glitch as a kid- someone who can certainly take care of himself, but still needs protection and advice. He's obviously kind of immature and uncouth, and she's really not sure what his problem with robots is about.

SORRY IN ADVANCE CALLAGHAN, but their relationship is like....99% based off of Owen wanting to cozy up to Callaghan in order to help convince him to work at Xavier's.

now that he's talking to him without an ulterior motive, it's like 'oh, this is a capable person who can definitely run a school, I'll enjoy helping him out with budgets and expenses and things like that' and he'll definitely end up talking with Callaghan just for fun and things like that, but hoo boy he is lying whenever somebody asks the "how did you meet" question at social events.

Jesse's unnerved by Elsa's lack of conscience, but it's not a major hurdle to their friendship, because she doesn't strike him as actively malicious. She's lived a hard life and she's done what she's had to do, which is something Jesse can understand. That kind of life would be really difficult if she carried around the same level of guilt that he does. And he finds everything else about her pretty fascinating. She's manic and risky, and he's attracted to that. There's a part of him that admired the way she immediately dove into drinking as soon as he healed her liver cirrhosis. Like, it was crazy, but also awesome. And he'd absolutely heal her again in a heartbeat. Or give her his blood. Or sleep with her. You know, all the basic favors you'd do for a friend.

I'm just gonna mad ramble here so please forgive me in advance.

Xanatos is just the bees knees. Owen really really likes Xanatos. he's not boring, he's interesting, it's never dull with him, he's always got something going (usually like multiple things going, let's be real) and he really could not think of a better boss to begin with. and granted, a fair chunk of this like comes from Xanatos picking Owen over Puck because I bet Puck was NOT EXPECTING THAT AT ALL so that just kicked the like up a fair amount of notches. though I doubt Owen will ever admit it to anyone (especially Xanatos), it's also pretty possible that Xanatos was his first human friend, so there's just a lot of weight in that fact as well. and like, he knows that he and Xanatos aren't entirely on equal playing fields (what with the lifetime of service and all), but he knows that they'd trust each other's advice and if shit were to hit the fan, they'd have each others backs (and this is why you tell people about the Gathering, Owen)

SABRIEL IS AN ENIGMA

it's a little strange being...friends?? is friends the word. with someone who will flat-out try to kill her if she "steps out of line" or whatever. marceline doesn't like the feeling, but sabriel's not boring and she's good with music, so she can usually ignore it. it bothers her sometimes, but she can deal. really, she isn't sure what to think of her. she's wary, and she tries to keep sabriel about as distant as most people. which isn't really a knock at her specifically, but...

it's weird. it's weird and she doesn't like it, even if sabriel's fairly okay.

part of this is Hime coming from a world where everybody accepts that fourteen year old girls are gonna save the day (where Olivier obviously doesn't), but Hime just can't wrap her head around why Olivier keeps treating her like a kid. so, she'll try to impress Olivier more but then she'll get treated like a kid in the process which'll make Hime angrier and it's probably a vicious cycle that never really ends because Hime's always gonna be trying to help save the day and trying to be a warrior of justice and lather, rinse, repeat.

have i said often enough that according to ramir SHE GONNA DATE THAT. it STARTED the usual superficial 'i want to bang that', but then she actually got to know jonathan and he wouldn't stop being dependable, generous, and endearing. and someone she could be grudgingly vulnerable around. and probably trust, to some extent. also an endless source of amusement via teasing. it was really rude. so anyway now she wants to convince him that the rules of being married (or married to be whatever) TOTALLY don't even apply here, and he should date her, and please pay no mind to how she wants to be a supervillain and/or head a mafia. she has decided not to consider how that would factor into things. she's pretty sure that he would not stand for that sort of thing, because she wasn't SO drunk that she'd forget their conversation about paying bails and how he basically wouldn't enable, and she doesn't want to lose him as a friend, so she just... will not bring up any of her less than legal inclinations. it's a solid plan. (and on a similar note, that's why she's being super careful with her approach to ~WOOING HIM~, because she doesn't want to fuck it up and ruin what she already values a lot as a friendship.)

NO MARCY........... that's exactly the sort of thing ramir would be sympathetic to and up for listening to/distracting from, whatever was required. BUT ALAS, SHE MAKES THE TOTALLY INCORRECT ASSUMPTION THAT MARCY'S GOT THIS SHIT COVERED. if she ever got hint of anything bothering her she'd probably rethink that and maybe press, but until then, she's just that unflappable vampire lady.

It's a lovely mix of PLEASE GO AWAY and Dorian actually kind of liking her company. Because Didi? Didi's pretty swell. She's good for a conversation, he enjoys talking with her, she seems like a lovely lady who he could possibly be surface level friends with. But Didi's also Death. And Dorian has so many hangups about death namely the fact that a: he doesn't want to die and b: when he did die, it SUCKED. So she'll occasionally say some very Death-like things and nope, that pleasant conversation is just straight up ruined in Dorian's mind now.
