TL;DR cr meme

THE TL;DR CR Meme

It's that time again and why not start it off with a heart warming and tragic foreshadowing gif?

1. Post with your characters - if you have more than one, make a catch all under one header.
2. respond to other people's characters with your characters.
3. They will tell you exactly what their character thinks of your character in depth! Icly or oocly! Make it long, this is teal deer territory after all.
4. React if you wish!
5. You can use this stuff for cr charts or you can even link to something you have written.
6. This is brought to you by irony from one of the more unfriendly characters in game.

She respects the Major-General. She sees a little bit of both herself and the Chief in her: she's highly competent, adept at political maneuvering, and more than a little intimidating to most. She seems like someone the Major could work under without feeling constantly irritated or miserable.

She also imagines that with Olivier's constant vying for position with the government that she's playing some kind of long con to get more information about their situation. And the Major's perfectly okay with that.

PUN MANNNN

Boy, Jaime really likes Will, more than he'd ever really expected to. He doesn't think that Will puts up a front per se, but he also thinks he's a lot kinder than he lets on, and a lot of that has to do with subtlety. He doesn't go out of his way to ask people if there's anything wrong - or so he hasn't with Jaime - but he's quick with a distraction and a kind word, and he shows a certain kind of willingness to get to know people. Jaime can tell that he's fairly reserved, but he's been nothing but kind and friendly, and that's enough to give him a very good impression of the guy. He genuinely enjoys talking to him, and appreciates the fact that he seems to talk to him as an equal, not as some stupid kid.

He's got some trepidation about the whole superhero thing, though. The thing is, he's not entirely sure Will's wrong, per se, just as ill informed as Jaime is about worlds without superheroes. He kind of welcomes the critical thought, honestly, and he thinks he has a great point, because in order for them to keep on doing what they're doing well, they need people to point out their legitimate issues, and god knows there are more than a few. Being able to figure out these issues and quantify them is annoying as hell on the efficiency side (poor Peej!), but it's earned Will a lot of respect.

Jaime also loves the shit out of his puns. TEACH HIM MORE SENPAI

Walt only interacted with her once, and he didn't quite realize what she was. So he just thought she was some weird goth chick who had a funny way of talking about things. And I'm not sure if he saw her network post about being death. Walt kind of avoided the network for a while like the plague. So I'm going to guess that he still doesn't know what she is. But once he finds out, he might have a love/hate relationship with her. 'Don't you have more control than to let the dead come back to life??' and 'So. Can you make my death really permanent this time? :|'

idk if it was ever established -- whether she's the death for the BrBa universe. But I, personally, would be completely okay with saying she was present for Walt's demise. Because that could definitely make things interesting for their future CR!

Congratulations, Sabriel, you are one of the few people Magicman genuinely likes here!

ANYWAY yeah Magicman really enjoys Sabriel's company and thinks pretty highly of her; she's a level-headed and capable person. He does kind of worry about how she seems to be getting pushed into a role that's not really her own and how it might actually take over her life in some ways, that's not really something he sits comfortably with? But he also knows that it's probably not a choice for her and it's a responsibility she has to take up, in the end, and there's nothing he can do about that. He's hoping everything goes well for her, since she's still young and..yeah. Does the walker choose the path, or the path the walker, etc. He'd like to think that Sabriel won't be completely pulled along by fate or circumstance or sheer bad luck or what have you because that would be such a waste of potential in his eyes.

HE'S KIND OF AWKWARD ABOUT THE FACT THAT SABRIEL SAW HIM SO BANGED UP AFTER THE FAMINE PLOT TO BE HONEST but he appreciates being healed

even if he's not used to getting scolded

Min-what?

SO you know what? Despite the fact that I don't think they've ever had a single conversation where they haven't argued about something stupid, or at least bantered back and forth with each other, Minho actually likes Kanaya. They had a rocky start, and he could barely stand her when they first met, but something about her grew on him. He doesn't always agree with her, and sometimes kind of wants to smack her upside the head, because god do some of her decisions suck in his opinion, but he does genuinely like her and consider her a friend... thing.

As much of a pain as he thinks she can be, she's also one of the best people to do a back and forth thing, and can meet him tit for tat when he's being an obnoxious shithead (which is often). She's got an easy flowing sharpness about the way she speaks to him which he actually likes.

He's also gotten protective of her, which his hard, because she makes herself very hard to protect. He doesn't really like the fact that she will do things like offer herself up for experimentation (something he feels pretty strongly about anyway, for obvious reasons), or literally dare people to come kill her. He figures she can make her own choices, but he often thinks her own choices are dumb, and if she was putting herself in serious risk of a permanent death or damage he'd probably step in even if she was furious at him for it.

YOU DID YOUR BEST

Ken's relationship with Magicman isn't exactly recent, but their closer involvement with each other definitely is. He doesn't have any personal attachment to the guy, but that doesn't make him any less important than everybody else. Magicman is a friend of his friends and someone he's known since his early days in the imPort towns. And to Ken, whose life so far has been loss after loss after things he never had to begin with, that's quite significant. He knows there's no permanence to anything he manages to grasp -- to him, having anything is like holding water in his hands -- but his first talk with Magicman shed a light onto him that he had lost sight of before: He can fight for the things he wants to keep.

There's no fighting the entire universe. If he gets Ported out, there's probably nothing he can do about it. He'll return to that night in the alleyway with one dead Shinjiro and an empty stomach and nothing else. When his mom died he was able to hold on to her memories, at least, but when he loses this world he'll lose even the memories. He won't even know that he's missing anything, as far as he knows. And while that hurts and makes him feel as powerless as he had felt on the night of Shinjiro's death, the idea that he could fight to protect his world while he's here is something that had more impact than Ken even realizes. The last time he fought, he sparred with Hisoka in the woods without a care for what happened. If Hisoka ended up killing him that day, that might have been a relief, and he was convinced that his existence was merely a destructive one. Now, Magicman's opened his eyes to the option of protecting.

He and Magicman are totally different in their morals. Ken's always been about balance and fairness, and his world was black and white in that until very recently. It would have never occurred to him to think, "I'd do anything to protect what's important to me" with 'anything' including putting other people at risk. And Ken realizes that Magicman's attitude is an inherently selfish one, but he doesn't associate that with 'good' or 'bad.' That's a choice Magicman made, where he valued his immediate world over the good of the entire world. And that's quite new and refreshing, too. It's new and refreshing and thrilling and frightening. But the idea of being able to put his foot down on something like that is inspiring to a kid who's lacking in direction. You've handed him a dangerous knife, dude.

IT WAS PRETTY DISASTROUS, most of their conversations end up turning into ridiculous shouting matches!

But!! This time around, Klarion feels like he came out on top, despite failing at Disney movies. He assumed that Wally already knew about Teekl after fighting YJ!Klarion, so he's always been a bit wary of the guy, underneath all the snarkiness and arguing. The whole alternate-universe thing unsettles Klarion more than he'd like to admit, and he really dislikes being compared to a psychotic version of himself. But now that he knows Wally has no idea that Teekl is his biggest weakness, and is scared of him on top of that, Klarion's just like HAHA SUCKER and doesn't really consider him a threat anymore. He figures that if Wally gets on his nerves again, he can just do the glowing-eye thingy and scare him off with a bit of magic, no sweat.

It's either the father in him or the teacher, but Walt instantly feels the need to be some sort of paternal guide to young people. And Jaime seems like a smart young man with a good head on his shoulders, so Walt is instantly compelled to step into this role of mentor -- guiding him to find the right job, etcetc. He genuinely likes Jaime, and admittedly building side-by-side with him gives Walt all sorts of awful father-son feels -- reminding him of what he would have liked to have with his own son, but what his own son was unable to give back to him because he is disabled.

:[ Jaime's probably unfortunately found himself +1 methlord in his life. But hey. Become his adopted son and earn the perks of having anyone who messes with you disincorporated in a vat of acid. :|b

[Edit to move to proper comment section. jfc self]

In all seriousness: Even though that was legitimately her first reaction to him, fresh off of wave of not wanting to trust anyone, not wanting to care about anyone, just wanting to absorb herself in her work and do something awesome (because being a lonely person and wanting to be left alone is really difficult), somewhere in there she got tired of being cold in the face of this genuinely warm person who didn't seem to want anything from her. So what the hell? What could it hurt to take him up on his offer and go sit in on lunch with him and his small group of friends.

It all went downuphill from there. She'll always be grateful that he never let her just...sit on the outside and listen. That he took the effort to engage her and gave the impression that she was just as important as the rest of them. That she didn't have to fight for attention. This is something she feels towards all of them, but it started with Tadashi. It was Tadashi that initially took an interest in what she was working on, gave tips when she got stuck.

She considered dating him like...once...but it turned into 'nah, man' because if she really had to sit down and put a word to it this is what she assumes it felt like to have a brother. It was an extension of Callaghan, in a way, because they both pushed her to be better and it was something she had needed in her life in a very long time.

She loves him, and when he died it was devastating. But hey, she loses people, and that's just the way the world works, and it was so much more important to support his ACTUAL family that her own grief was mostly dealt with privately. He was still so important and she was determined to do her best in honor of his memory, and if that meant also protecting his little brother, then god dammit she'll adopt Hiro into her tiny little family too. Crazy robots and superhero shenanigans and all.

Then she came to MoM and it just...it kind of exploded in her chest a little and she doesn't...know what to do. She grieved, and moved on, and they were going to catch the person who caused his death so there would be justice, and here Tadashi is alive and, while not ignorant? completely apart still from what happened.

She is so happy he's alive but she doesn't really know what to do with him yet. On the one hand she wants to hug him more, and scold him for being reckless, and love him for being the kind of person who'd risk his life, but on the other hand he hasn't died yet, so does any of that even apply right now? Can she even feel any of that when he's standing there smiling at her?

She's struggling between going back to the way everything was before the fire, and accepting that it is a thing that will hang over them no matter what she says. She doesn't want to make him uncomfortable with the 'so, you're going to die', but at the same time she wants to never let him out of her sight. For that chance to see him again before it all goes down. That one more time, as if it'll hurt less the next time around to have some kind of closure with him.

Which naturally means her reaction is to pretend nothing is wrong at all and avoid the topic entirely. Unfortunately since Tadashi IS the topic...well.

CAL IS....he doesn't actually know that much about cal yet actually! He knows some concrete facts: guy's a roboticist and very interested in his field, he's a teacher, probably a respected dude. And that he's important to Tadashi (and sadly that in itself is enough for Magicman to flag Cal as someone to watch, if only for Tadashi's sake and peace of mind) and he makes Hiro antsy as fuck. There's obviously some history there.

But all that baggage aside, he genuinely has interest in Cal and wants to get to know him better for his own individual sake. Though if he does find out Cal tried to like, kill his students more than once, he's gonna be more than a little :| because like, hey, he's a criminal and his morals are down the drain but he's stopped short of deliberately trying to target a bunch of teenagers. Chill the fuck out.

Best friends for life. I mean what else is there to say, really?

.... Everything, actually. So much.

God, I don't even know how to start with this without going on about Kangmo's various issues, but I'm gonna try hard not to go too far with those. Bear with me.

So Kangmo feels incredible amounts of guilt when it comes to Hazel. Like... amazing amounts of guilt for what he put her through. The thing about Kangmo is that Kangmo tries to protect himself and hide his own vulnerabilities so aggressively that there's really no way for her to know that. He'd much rather her think he's a callous asshole, than realize how bad he actually feels about his attempt to blackmail her. There's also a whole heaping ton of trust issues on his part, which is why he blackmailed her in the first place instead of just doing the sensible thing and asked her for a place to stay, because he immediately expected to be rejected if he came at her rationally instead of forcing her hand.

So he's kind of fine with her thinking he's as awful as she thinks he is.

And also kind of not. Because who wants to be the unlikable guy that people cannot speak to without getting into a fight with? He's not about to change things any time soon, because again, that'd be admitting weakness in his mind, but it does frustrate him how strained he made their interactions, especially because she is the person he's spoken to the most here at MoM. Not that he ever thinks they're going to be the best of friends or anything like that, but he also realizes that they could be at least civil with each other if he hadn't done what he did.

He's also got a whole complex set of feelings about what happened during the Crank plot. On one hand he really doesn't blame her for wanting him out of the house. He doesn't necessarily feel bad about breaking her things while he was out of her mind, but he does feel bad about the fact that he was willing to stay there and expose other people to a deadly disease. His guilt in that case is directed to her housemates who could have actually suffered if they caught the virus instead of Hazel, who was more or less safe. He's got huge issues about feeling responsible for people's deaths, and a large part of why he gave her key back is because he came too close to that than is anywhere near comfortable for him.

The other part is because even though she had to do what she could to get him out of the house, they never really spoke about what happened after. He doesn't know her motivations, and he doesn't know she was purposely luring him to the hospital. He knows she tried to strangle him, and she threw him out a window. He's got some bitter feelings of resentment for her for that. As far as he knows she would have been fine with him dying if it meant the others stayed safe, and she was certainly fine with hurting him enough that he scars (glass in the skin'll do that, but he sort of dug it in worse himself).

He originally tried to force her to let him stay with him in order to feel safe from his murderous roommate, even if he overstayed his welcome after, and after the event of the Crank plot lost any sense of safety he had.

For the most part right now he's been avoiding speaking to her, because there's this whole range of negative emotions of her ranging from guilt to anger, and he'd rather avoid her and thus avoid them than try to deal with them.

WHICH MEANS sometime we should force them to interact again. I'm just saying.

HAHAH GOD. SORRY YOU'RE GONNA GET A LOT OF DISJOINTED RAMBLING because I'm tired but I still want to spam you

To this day, Jaime has probably gotten into more disagreements with Wally than anyone else in MOM, save for the people he actually dislikes, and SOMEHOW that means that Wally's his best friend here. He just happens to be endlessly aggravating and incredibly willing to point out Jaime's faults. An important thing to note is that even if someone else pointed the exact same things that Wally did, Jaime wouldn't necessarily take them to heart, but coming from a friend who knows him as well as anyone knows him, and someone he respects? He absolutely takes those sorts of things to heart, which means it annoys him even more. SPEEDSTERS: THE CONSTANT PLAGUE. So yeah, Wally's the dude who consistently gets the most sheer emotion out of Jaime (ANNOYING, SO ANNOYING), which is probably why Wally actually makes such a good friend for him -- he needs that in his life, even if these days, Wally has totally taken the wind out of his sails.

So I think it's important to point out how much Jaime actually respects Wally. He's inexperienced as any teenaged hero, but Jaime's absolutely aware of exactly how much more Wally knows than him, and in all likelihood, how much better Wally is at the whole package than he is. It's not just about sheer strength out there, but about teamwork, organization, ties to the community, working with a mentor, how to speak to civilians, how to work a camera... Wally's got Thoughts about those, and Jaime's a really receptive audience, because his own thoughts on it all are still extremely tentative. Superhero communities??? WELL HE'S GOT HIS CARROT OVER THERE, does that count???? He's got the practical work pretty down pat, but the rest of it is sort of a mystery, and somehow Wally's become his best resource for that. Which means, yeah, Jaime respects the hell out of Wally for what he does (and obviously he's a good enough hero to earn himself one of those statues that mean "yeah this kid died in battle OOPS"), and how much he puts into it. Wally's not like him, and he knows it -- Wally's in the hero gig because he wanted it hard enough, and that's worth an awful lot, even if Jaime doesn't necessarily understand it.

But they've always been sort of friends first and heroes second, which means he does really like Wally. When they're not getting on each other's asses about FeelingsTM, he's an easy guy to hang out with. Wally has a lot of fun, which means everyone around him has a lot of fun too, so if it's 3 AM and he can't sleep, Wally's the guy getting texted, or if he just needs to flop on a couch and play video games for a while, he's there for a lot of that too. He's the guy where Jaime knows he could just call him up, and chances are, Wally'd be there. There's a lot of sappy, sugary stuff that could go here, but basically Wally's a great guy, and Jaime loves the shit out of him.

...but that doesn't change what their whole last-last log was about, which is that Wally deals with things by not dealing with things, and lashing out when he's confronted. Jaime's forgiven Wally, and he will always forgive him (and there were understandable mitigating circumstances), but the kid knows how to hit him where it hurts, specifically because Jaime likes and respects him so much. He's forgiven, but he's not liable to forget, because what Wally has to say means something to him. THE BIGGEST ISSUE THOUGH is that Wally feels like dealing with his death alone is something he should do, and something that's right to do, and that's... worrisome, so he's going to be fussing about that for a good, long time. He kind of wonders if they did the right thing by telling Wally, so it's their job to try to help him deal with it...

...or not deal with it fabulously by trying to avoid his death so they can all stop CRYING ALL THE TIME thank you I'm out I'M STOPPING MYSELF NOW

Jesse doesn't know what to make of Xanatos yet, so he's being cautious. The guy is obviously very professional, which probably means he's pretty stable and reliable. But there's also a lot about Xanatos that reminds him of Gus Fring, and that guy repeatedly tried to kill Jesse and then kept Jesse as a literal slave in his meth dungeon cooking at gunpoint, so... You know. Xanatos is obviously not 100% legit and the rich and powerful also tend to be dangerous. So far, at least, Xanatos hasn't raised any major red flags, and if things stay amicable between them, Jesse is happy to keep working with him.

When it comes to Death, Jesse's suicidal nature manifests as affection for Didi. He's in awe of her and all the things she promises, and desires to be with her and to be taken by her. He's bitter that it's going to be such a long time before he can go with her, but he also understands that none of this is under her control. In the meantime, he does like being around her and he's comforted by her presence. She looks mortal enough that he can think of her in human terms, so he also thinks she's very beautiful and he's got a bit of a hopeless crush on her. She reminds him of his dead girlfriend Jane in more ways than one, which doesn't ease his pining for her.
