QUIT RUNNING IN THE HOUSE

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!
Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!
And remember to have fun!01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.
02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.
03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!
04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

Secretly, he hopes Luke isn't going to be one of those people, because truth be told, he's getting a little tired of it. Not that it'd diminish how great it is to have him around, period. It's just that he'd like to have regular conversations again, about who to hit and look isn't that Stilt-Man again and the moves of mafia bosses and what to do about that demonic invasion. Normal superhero stuff like that.
"None other. As though you know any other blind lawyers anyway."
No doubt about it- really glad to see Luke Cage. So much better than running into the Punisher, who has already gone about making himself a pain in people's asses already. You can have conversations with Luke Cage. He has a sense of humor, and his head's on pretty straight. He's a good guy to have at your side, and have watching your back. And if it does turn out he owes Luke some explanations, or apologies, from before...well, he's well prepared for that possibility by now.

His sense of relief is obvious even for those without superhuman levels of perception. It's a familiar and friendly face. It's also someone he knows that he can depend on to cover his ass if things go south here...which he's pretty sure will happen at some point.
"Man, you've no idea how happy I am to see you right about now."

"About as thrilled as I was to hear you. I know it's a terrible thing to say, but- I'm glad you're here, Luke. I've been hoping to run across you or one of the others ever since I came. It's just been me and Spidey...and Frank Castle."
There'll be time to talk about that later, though. Those are some details, less important than the groundwork, and the fact that Tony Stark's out there gunning for round two of his registration policies.
"I was serious about the shakes, by the way. You've probably got a lot of questions, and I've got a lot to tell you. You might want to be sitting down for some of it."

"You're not kidding. The guys in charge here aren't really helpful, but when has the government been all that good about sharing information? Where the hell are we?"
He'll go ahead and get that first question out while they make their way to the malt shop. It's the most important one and, hopefully, the one that will provide him with a means of getting back home to his girls.

But that's all for slightly later. It'd be inconsiderate to start dropping plans on Luke right away.
"I'm not the person to ask if you want to know where in relation to where we should be. The one person I could direct you to is, uh, somewhat difficult to deal with...and four. It's definitely Florida, and Cape Canaveral. All the important geographical evidence of that appears to check out. It's just not our Florida."
Which does none of them any good, if Valeria Richards is to be believed, and Matt has no doubt that she is.
