QUIT RUNNING IN THE HOUSE

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place!

Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at anyone's thread, either!

And remember to have fun!

    01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

    02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

    03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

    04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

Erwin stopped the can with his own foot as it clattered close to him. "So I have noticed," he remarked with a frown, such treatment did not sit well with him. They did their duty, they made the necessary sacrifices, that was it. How that would work in this world remained to be seen, however.

He met Levi's gaze, unable to help letting his expression soften in to a the hint of a rare smile for just a fleeting moment. "There is that, it is something, at the very least."

Levi never smiled even in return to someone else who hardly if ever smiled themselves. Not that he had to, he was contented with Erwin's self-possession in face of the unknown. What Levi could offer instead was what he had given up in the last several years in his service as a corpsman. The unwavering conviction in where his loyalties lie.

"I'll trust your judgement and follow through in however you decided to handle this."

Erwin gave a curt nod in acknowledgement. "Good. We will remain true to our duty to protect mankind as members of the Survey Corps," Erwin said though his tone was not entirely stern. That loyalty meant more here, in a world so foreign to them. There were no Titans but he had spent his days slowly gathering information however he could.

"It's their government we're working for," Levi supplied without hinting to his opinion, positive or negative, not that he intended to stray from the core of their original goal to serve mankind. Whether Erwin chose to be one of the heroes sworn into by this government, or an unsettled vigilante, Levi would only naturally follow suit.

"Shits weird," He commented out of the blue with his usual candor, "I can sort of fly now."

Erwin hadn't yet made that decision but it was something he was still considering. While being a part of the government would provide stability and comforts, those were not exactly perks those in the Survey Corps expected in life. "There are alternatives," he said after a moment yet it was not a decision that would be made lightly just yet.
