01. Your memory might be a haze still and you might even feel frustrated or anxious by the sudden news that you are no longer in your own world and that the Porter scientists and military cannot send you back. You don't get a chance to linger long in the underground Porter lab, but something is clearly amiss; light patches on the floor indicate something else used to sit in that spot in the room. Parts of the wall, floor and the tables look as if they have been refurbished in the past few months -- something happened in here some time ago. Something big.

You're ushered out quickly and then suddenly, you're enveloped in a faint blue blue light before you find yourself under the bright Floridian sun. Another soldier steps toward you with a smile, directing your attention to a car near a large gate. She mentions she'll be debriefing you soon, handing out a brown folder and a pamphlet. You don't see the digital tattoo on your wrist, but it's quickly explained on your way over to the car as you realize there are other confused faces nearby, all holding files of their own.

02. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place. The locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to help cool you down in this awfully nauseating heat. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. A snippy voice wonders aloud: "My taxes are going to their parties and other expenses? When are they going to do something for us for a change?" These naysayers may, however, find themselves hushed with a judgmental: "Didn't you hear about that attack? They saved all those puppies! I hope you donated to ShareTheLove too."

03. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Heavy winds have people grasping at their newspapers and constantly brushing hair out of their faces, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.

Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about cameras and an incident involving gas. "Biological warfare... we sure some of them haven't defected?"

04. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is normally known for being a little more on the apathetic side, but there's been tension in the atmosphere lately. On local newsstands will be headlines reading: "Maurtia Falls: Home To Vampire Infestations?", and people will be heard muttering fearfully about the vampires, though one or two can be heard saying, "But that imPort is taking care of her own, right? That pretty one, with the horns. Good on her."

People are not as friendly in this city and go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and compliment them for quick thinking at the last Swear-In. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.

05. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities. It's loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. As the New Year approaches, advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, festivities, and payment. ImPort action figures and merchandise are on sale now, and every corner's coffee shop is still serving festive peppermint goods of every shape and form.

[ Flynn is on edge. Of course, this is not a new thing for him but he's really tired of the feeling. He's wondering about his mother first. She needs him. Holly needs him too. Aunt Marie wouldn't take well to his being missing either.

The attention doesn't help, though it's a bizarre feeling to feel grateful that the word Heisenberg isn't the reason. He's not obviously an imPort, but he is on crutches, his mouth not letting thanks out as easily. ]

I'm ok, promise. What's this about puppies?

[One of the people in the crowd shrugs. He's not very tall, only a twelve year old kid, so he's a bit hard to see. In his wizard robes he's more obviously an imPort than some may be, clutching a staff in one hand to complete the look of outsider.]

I'm not really sure either...

I feel like there's a lot to be learned about this place. The informational pamphlets should have covered more.

Leona blinked in confusion as she appeared blinking in the bright Florida sun. After the moment of confusion passed and a soldier helpfully explained what had just happened, Leona closed her and turned her face up to the sky as she took a deep breath. Something about being in the light of day instead of the strange artificial lights they used underground seemed to add inches to her already imposingly tall height. Or maybe she was just standing up straighter.

She was in a strange new world, far from anyone else she trusted or even knew, but this land apparently had need of warriors, and a Rakkor could always find a place where warriors were needed. And the sun was still the sun. That hadn't changed. As long as the sun was there, watching over her, Leona would never be entirely alone or helpless. She could do this.

She turned to her fellow ImPort, you, and smiled serenely. "It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

Leona had already looked a bit lost and confused as she wandered the brightly lit city streets. Now she looked positively harried as various people pressed against her to offer her things she could barely understand. Free food samples, the latest fashions from Paris, a job as a model, requests for the use of her face to advertise cereal, and it only got stranger from there. She held up both hands to try and keep them all back as her patience wore thinner and thinner.

"Gentlemen, please. Your land is very strange to me. I don't know what half of what you're saying means. I'm afraid I cannot accept any of your offers right now."

A few of them accepted that and backed off, but the rest pushed all the harder, now loudly explaining their offers to her like she was a child. Leona's irritation grew to the point that she was starting to glow and her hands were balled up into fists.

She looks like she could punch a hole in a brick wall. Maybe you should step in before she breaks somebody's nose.

Whether it was just because of a winter storm or because of something more dangerous (earthquake, communists, etc), the power just went out, and with it the lights. After some time in the darkness, a brilliant light appeared. After your eyes adjusted, you realized that the light was Leona. She didn't have a flashlight or anything like that, she was just glowing like a light bulb. She held out a hand with a comforting smile.

"Every night comes to an end eventually. Are you alright?"

"All right!" Francis called out. They knew his voice and paused. "Now, now, give the lady some room. She hasn't settled in yet and she's hardly going to agree to something thrown at her from a madding crowd, now is she?"

There was a pause while they were tempted to just carry on. "You're glowing, my dear," he pointed out, dismissing them as he did so. It wasn't really supposed to be a warning for her, but the others. Knowing what imPorts can do, they took the hint.

[ Brianna walks down the street in a daze, sipping on the free soda she was handed a few seconds earlier. She hasn't seen anything like this in over a year—adults, mostly, but also electric lights. People walking around without holes or stains all over their clothes. Kids who are laughing and playing and not half-starved. Her own malnourishment, dirty clothes, and the machete hanging from her belt definitely stand out. The three things combined are enough to make most people avoid her rather than crowd around their newest superhero, but for once, she doesn't mind being left alone.

It's all so new and so amazing that she can't even be bothered to use her powers, for once, although there are signs she can't completely stop. Every once in a while one of her movements will come as a blur, and as she rounds the corner, she zips to one side to avoid crashing into someone. ]

Woah, watch it!

2 | De Chima

[ She parks herself on a bench in the sun—real sun, not the fake one they had in the FAYZ—and checks out her communicator. It's a bit more complicated than the cell phone she used to have, but like most kids, she has an intuitive ease with technology, and she seems to be figuring it out pretty quickly.

Her fingers move in a blur, punching in the same set of numbers over and over and over again, each time looking more frustrated as she gets a voicemail she doesn't seem to recognize. Finally, she can't stand it anymore. ]

Mom? Mom?

[There's panic coming over the line.

The sender's careless but Crane doesn't care. It's the first thing all day that's managed to get his nose out his book. His posture loosens, as if he's enjoying himself. Cutting through her optimism to get at the fears underneath. It's great.

He replies anonymously. The only thing telling about him is his voice. It's slow and polite, and blunt despite it.]

I hardly sound like your mother now, do I? [A pause, and his voice goes softer.] I'm sorry, but it's unlikely she's here.

[Yayoi's still clutching the pamphlet she got on arrival, occasionally flipping through it like she expects (hopes) it'll give her some information that actually makes sense. All this nonsense about powers and the government and—what was this about nanites??? It all sounded like something out of a sci-fi thriller movie. It couldn't be real.

And yet here she was, standing on a street in some town in the United States with some weasley looking foreigner (or was she the foreigner now??) complained under their breath about her. Ugh.]

Like I even want to be here! Why don't you mind your own business?

[Well! This is certainly different. Yayoi's staring at a display of Import figures in a shop window, complete with an advertisement for a discount for any Imports themselves. It's a stark difference from the mixed reactions she got in Heropa; different enough that all she can do is look from the display in this shop's window to the scattering of similar discounts down the street and stare in a confused sort of surprise.]

What the hell . . . Why don't they just let us out here instead?

[ finally released from his binding promise of taking it easy for a month, Akito is back to bustling around Heropa (moreso than usual, as he no longer has a job). since it's the weekend he's being toted around by a few pre-schoolers, all of them tugging at the hem of his sweatshirt or at his hands, vying for attention while he tries to steer them all toward the park.

he doesn't notice Yayoi, unfortunately - he doesn't keep an eye out for new arrivals, preferring not to do anything that might cloud their judgement of the situation due to his bitterness toward the government - but he does hear the grumbled complaints and a familiar voice's reaction to it. it's enough to make him stop, make sure the children are a safe distance should any conflict break out, and interfere with the most cheerfully fake smile he can muster. ]

Hey mister, thanks for letting the big sister know how nice the people of Heropa are! We don't want her to think it's a bad city she wouldn't want to live in and help keep safe, ne? So it's always good to have help!

[ Caitlin's first priority is figuring out what the heck is going on??? Okay, no, first priority is buying a thicker coat because this might be Florida, but it's also winter and she is freezing for some reason. But AFTER THAT, she's settling down at the first coffee shop she sees, ordering a large mug of something warm and caffeinated, and reading through the portfolio they gave her from cover to cover. As she does this, she may or may not be thinking out loud. ]

Nanites? They just inject everyone with nanites, without checking to make sure they won't be rejected?? ...That is just irresponsible.

[ Honestly, none of what she's reading is too unbelievable, given when they've faced back home in the past few months. Multiple universes, travel between said universes... The bit about all ImPorts being granted superhuman powers, regardless of whether or not they had any to begin with, is also slightly disconcerting. Caitlin finds herself itching to get access to a lab, so she can run some tests on herself to see what, if anything, is different. Her portfolio lists three abilities: Cryokinesis, Energy Absorption, & Ice-based Physiology. Considering the fact that she doesn't look or feel any different (aside from feeling colder than normal), she isn't sure how much of the portfolio to believe.

Still, there are teleporters and hovercars. She's in Florida, but not her Florida. Who knows what could be real? ]

[ You know what else is real? How much Cisco has to rein it in from just launching himself at Caitlin hug from across the shop for a hug. Instead, he's rushing across the room, bumping into no less than two people and spilling half his sticky-sweet and really hot coffee over his hand, ow.

[It's all more than a little overwhelming, at least in Eddie's state of mind. He could definitely be handling this better.

Still, despite the growing sense of panic at the fact that he's even alive right now and all the frankly terrifying things that could mean. Of course, each and every one of them is running through his head at top speed while the soldier leads him out of the room with all the suspicious light patches and renovation (something he's filed away to think about later) and leads him into a pale blue light and out into the sun. What if being alive now, even if it's in some weird alternate universe, means that Eobard popped back into existence back home and is now stalking Iris and Barry and Joe and everyone else, and there's nothing he can do about it from here?

The soldier explains about the tattoo and Eddie barely makes more than a cursory glance at his arm before he takes the folder, tucks it under an arm, and then glances around. A moment of quiet before they're apparently ferried away, and he tries to catch someone's eye.]

Hey. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has no idea what's going on?

[Not entirely true, but it's a good start at making new acquaintances.]

[04. nonah]

[If the whole debriefing period had been confusing and a little overwhelming, Nonah was a whole new ball game. It might've been easier to deal with if people hadn't been clamoring at all the new arrivals with offers for...basically everything. He'd read his file, and he's still trying to wrap his head around the whole superpowers thing.

After a while, he has to get out. Ducking into a coffee shop, he makes his way to the counter and gets in line, exhaling heavily and smiling wanly at the person in front of him.]

Man, some peppermint mocha would really hit the spot after the day I've had. You?

[Yang was standing outside after her orientation, reading through the folder she had been given, her violet eyes getting a bit wider with each page. She'd listened to what they had told her, but she hadn't actually believed it until she had stepped outside and into a place she clearly didn't recognize. At all. So after a couple minutes she turned towards someone else standing nearby.]

This is all kind of crazy weird, right?

[The blonde was all about free stuff, so she had a drink in one hand and a sandwich in the other as she made her way down the street, stopping with a big grin to pose with anyone who wanted a picture. Which wasn't as many as she suspected, it was probably her hair that was the biggest clue that she wasn't 'from around here.' Still, overhearing some of the conversations had her a bit frowny, and she stopped when she saw another probably import.]

So, any clue what this 'ShareTheLove' thing is?

[She asked between bites of sandwich.]

[Okay, this she could get behind. Just walking from the porter she had two job offers! They both sounded ridiculously boring but she'd taken the cards anyway and stuck them in a pouch. Finally, feeling completely welcome. Niiiice.]

[Which left her with time to really think about the supposed 'powers' she had apparently been gifted. The paper had listed her aura and semblance, but the other one...'Bumblebee summoning'...well, that had her curious. The name was certainly familiar, and what she was hearing about powers gave her a hopeful thought...]

[So the teen was standing in a relatively empty side-street, frowning at a spot on the sidewalk as she tried to figure out how to activate it. Frowning intently. At nothing. She's not crazy, probably!]

[ Vivi almost jumps when he's spoken to; he's absorbed in reading his file.

He looks up at Yang, adjusting his hat to see her better. Big, glowing yellow eyes stare up at her face for a moment.

You'll have to forgive him for the staring, he's a little disoriented right now. ]

Um, yeah! I haven't even seen most of these things before... [ A hovercar goes past and he watches it with big eyes, momentarily distracted. Holy shit, technology. ]

[Chloe is no stranger to waking up with hazy memories and inexplicable rage. Just must be Tuesday-- Thursday? What day even is it. These are the questions that plague her mind as she walks down the street, folding her pamphlet into a paper airplane and throwing the airplane right at someone's face. Ha! Take that, eyeball.

Until she hears someone say the word party. At which point she grabs the nearest person with all the urgency of a party girl who has gone hours (hours) without something fun happening.]

[And then, of course, there's the offer of televised appearances. Now this is more like it! Chloe sweet talks a rep out of a free peppermint drink, dismissing him quickly and kicking back with the drink outside of the cafe without a care in the world.]

[Heropa is cheery. Far too cheery and Felix hates it. It's refreshing when he encounters those who are less immediately welcoming of imPorts, though this particular encounter is not with one such person. Not that it stops him accepting the free drink he's being offered at a cafe far too adorable for him not to regret stepping foot in. He's still rolling his eyes though.]

My god.

[Why is this happening? The cafe server is cute, but not cute enough to make being on the receiving end of his gushing anywhere even remotely worth it.]

Believe me, the only services I plan on offering have nothing to do with heroics.

[Nonah is far more Felix's style, and with New Years right around the corner he's starting to see the advantage of the locals who are a little too friendly. New Years is just about to happen, he's been invited to more parties than he can count, and Felix plans to party hard.

Of course, to do that he has to look good. Which means making the most of heavily discounted clothes. The only difficult part is deciding which ones. He picks a shirt off the rack, then after getting a better look at it hurriedly hangs it back up with noise of disgust.]

Who decided that was a good idea? I wouldn't wear that if you paid me.

[if you're looking for someone a little less cheerful, the chick behind you intentionally distorting Felix's comments is a pretty solid option. she's covered in stitches and wearing a black skull-patterned long sleeve shirt, even in this abominable heat. not exactly what you'd expect in a cute store like this.

Hazel's appearance may look pretty dire, but there's a definite mischievous glint in her eyes. hey, you talk about services, you better be ready for someone to assume the worst of you.]

[Having never been one to let something as tiny as being completed displaced in both time and space from his own world, Ray was actually in a pretty good mood. He wasn't quite excited enough to be running around asking any passerby questions, but he was making notes in a notepad as he moved around town, taking important information from the folder and pamphlet he'd received, as well as documenting some of the gossip around town.]

Wow...a complete temporal displacement and this place doesn't look much different than anywhere in the Corn Belt. On the outside it all looks like typical midwestern americana...but its still completely different. I can't wait to tell Egon and the others about this, they're gonna flip! I wonder what this means for the Theory of Alternate Universes...

[And he made absolutely no effort to keep his musings down as he found a bench to sit on and continue his notes. Anyone care to bother him and see what all the technobabble is about?]

[ Speaking as someone on the next bench over, eagerly reading her own folder from cover to cover, Caitlin certainly doesn't mind an interruption from someone who sounds so intelligent. ]

I'd say it pretty much solidifies it. The... theory, I mean. Though if I'm honest, that's not the most surprising part of it, for me. [ After all, Alternate Universes were becoming a regular thing back in her Central City. ]

01. [ Pyrrha has to read it a few times just to be sure. In a way, it reminded her of the contracts she used to sign for the tournaments and any deals that would follow. She frowns lightly at the thought. She rather not sign anything, what with her schooling and . . . other things on her mind, but it seems she's not likely to get far in this place without accepting the rules here.

Still, that doesn't mean she had to like it. And it seems she's not the only one. ]

Looks like I'll figure the rest out on my own.

05. [ How many of these people does she need to chase off politely? She was getting tired of these offers to model, to act, to be a spokesperson for . . . Pyrrha thought she had left this part of her life behind. Again, she (politely) stands her ground. ]

[ Julian Day is there in the sun, in a bright red and calendar-themed costume. There's a cape made out of pages, numbered by the days in a month. It’s certainly one way someone could dress themselves, anyway.

Julian is pouring over the pamphlet, skimming the parts that don't interest him, but muttering when he does spot something interesting. ] 1985, 1986.

[ He then reads his file. He wants to know what they know. He wants to know what is remembered about him. No one has probably read their own file so intensely. ]

[ This city isn’t Gotham, but there’s a familiarity to it that reminds Julian of home. The suspicion, the obvious signs of crime and corruption. Vampires is something different though. And the rumours of a pretty, horned imPort sound strangely familiar.

While the civilians might dodge the sight of him, he very obviously is avoiding the eyes of the cops. And after he ducks inside a store and comes out carrying a whole stack of calendars, he’s definitely getting stares.
To some of them he may raise an eyebrow, giving a pointed stare back. ]

[ They’ve got him wrong. They’re treating him like a hero. He’s the Calendar Man. He should make sure they know better. Cornered by a few particularly pushy people with job and entertainment offers for him, he tries to evade. ]

[A small crowd has gathered around the tallest point in town, as some idiot teenager has climbed to the very top of the skyscraper or tower, and is now standing on the utmost ledge, staring out over the city, looking up at the sky.

Natives crowding imports and showering them with attention might be a bother to some, but there's at least one import that seems to be thriving off the adoration. A local food court seems to be attracting throngs of onlookers, the crowd begetting more as it grows.

At it's center sits a lone child upon the edge of a fountain, surrounded on all sides by glowing faced onlookers, a glow that seems reflected from the dainty-golden haired boy beaming back at them. As you turn to see what's going on, you might find your eyes pulled to the child, and somehow relaxed and energized at the same time as a reward for your efforts.

More cognizant imports might realize how strange that is.

"Oh course. Can't you tell I'm a hero just by looking at me?." His voice suddenly rings out from the crowd. Soft and lyrical, but easy to pick up over the din, almost unusually so. "But I can't be compared to other imports. Not that I have anything against them, but I'm on a completely different level."

His matter of fact explanation draws a chorus of ooo's and ah's, causing more than a few of the children in the crowd to blush in admiration.

Someone has them wrapped around his delicate little fingers.

Markets were always a favorite of Gil's. His kingdom had stretched far and wide and therefore the goods traded through out it were always varied and carried the finest and most exotic of goods.

However Nonah was turning out to be a bust.

With so many Imports, from countless universes, he thought there would be something a little more exciting on display. Absently licking a peppermint lollipop, he saunters on light feet to the next display window, giving a shimmering dress a judgmental stare. Even if wasn't something he'd wear, it was still worth a glance, being closer to his tastes in design. But still falling short.

Sighing between licks he moves on to the next display.

"Isn't there anything of worth here?" He says wistfully, possibly to you. "I'm going to have to find another way to entertain myself at this rate."

[Okay, well, he was...maybe not dead? And the whole superpowers thing was pretty awesome. He even got to keep his vampirism, which was a relief because as much trouble as being turned had caused him, eternal youth was pretty great.

Now there was just the matter of finding something to do here. Preferably, something to get his mind off of the pangs of sorrow he felt every now and then when he remembered that his lover wasn't here and he might never see her again.

But he's not shy, at least, so he approaches the nearest person that looks like they might be a fellow imPort and says:]

As of being transported to a new world wasn't difficult enough, he apparently ended up somewhere with a huge hate-on for vampires. Tristan's fashion sense made him a pretty obvious imPort, so most people were just avoiding him without second glance, at least.

And he didn't look like an obvious vampire, anyways, without the fangs. He'd just really rather go back to a place where everyone thought vampires were fictional so it was easier to hide.]

[Said nervously as he passed some locals he heard chatting about the vampire menace. Good going, Tristan, you will never get caught.]

[ Unfortunately, he's passing Dorian Gray, the person who'll end up chatting his ear off about the "vampire menace." This is what happens when your vampire boyfriend's the one who sired the vampires to begin with. Dorian is biased. He is biased as hell. And that pretty obvious not-local fashion sense means that Tristan is someone who Dorian can talk to and try to convince him that really, these vampires are nothing to worry about, did you know that the pretty horned lady that the natives are talking about is a massive bitch? Nip that vampire racism in the bud while he can. ]

I hope you're not believing what those ignorant locals are saying. [ Dorian's British accent marks him as an imPort, moreso than his clothes, all expensive and well-fit. His clothes mark him as a snob. He can't help but scowl as he continues, obviously someone who's fed up from having to explain this time and time again. ] Four is hardly an infestation, and that 'pretty horned one' that people keep talking about is a massive bitch to begin with.

01. Arrival

Today's new imPorts include a lad who can't be more than 13 years old, clutching his pamphlet in one hand and a star-tipped wand in the other. There's a mop of orange hair on his head--and a pair of bunny ears sticking out of said hair. He's dressed mostly in green and wearing a backpack that seems to be packed full for a journey.

Almost everyone around Cucumber is far taller than him, and while that didn't bother him much back in Dreamside, it makes the fact that he's completely alone here that much worse. His eyes are wide with confusion and fear as he timidly takes a step forward, then another. He's moving slowly--honestly, he still doesn't know where to go.

02. Heropa

It's been a while since Cucumber arrived, and so far Heropa seems to have the best balance of friendliness and quiet for him; he'll never like getting stared at in any sense, but if he has to choose, stares of admiration are better than stares of disdain.

Smiles of gratitude are a lot easier to handle, though. The star-shaped tip of his wand glows, his magic extending up into the branches of a tall oak tree. Moments later, a slightly disgruntled kitten floats down from the tree, slowly descending and finally neatly settling in the arms of a little girl nearby. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Mr. Cucumber, sir!" she gushes, hugging her cat to her tightly.

Cucumber chuckles sheepishly, rubbing his neck. "Ahaha, i-it's okay. I'm happy I could help!" There's a lot about this new world that's scary and confusing, but moments like this, where he's just using his magic to help people... These are the kind of moments he could really get used to.

But evidently one part of the pamphlet was true, because he had to be one of the people from a different world. She wondered if anything like this had happened to him before... probably not; he was quite evidently terrified about this situation.

He was also very young. Younger than her. Wasn't America full of lawyers? Shouldn't they be doing something about this? She set that aside for a moment, however; he looked like he needed a friend. Putting on a calm smile, Fuu made her way over to him. "Hello there. You're new too, aren't you?"

[While not as exciting or busy as Heropa or Nonah, De Chima did seem to have a 'fanbase' all its own for imPorts, and that was enough for Junpei. Having just gotten the low-down on what was going on, and letting it sink in that he'd been called from his own world to be a hero, it was hard not to play with the crowd, answering questions (That he often had to look up in his folder, shhh), signing autographs, and greeting anyone who gave him the time of day.

Especially with the kids. A lot of his time he spent crouched down, signing his name on whatever the kids could find/had on hand. It was a nice change of pace, being idolized like this--he never got it back home. He wasn't like Minato, or his senpais. So him getting the spotlight for this brief moment? Signing little autographs for kids? It may as well have been Christmas for him.]

Man, I don't know what I did to get here, but...I'm -liking- this. [His attention turns to the kid he's signing a hat for, lowering it back down into their hands.]

[Jay Garrick isn't a stranger to world hopping or the concept of it, but that doesn't stop the tall speedster from staring at the pamphlet he's been given. The idea of being injected with nanites has his skin just about crawling. As a scientist he knows that despite what's on paper, what's in that stuff could be a whole different thing. And the government being the one to do such a thing? Jay isn't one for conspiracy theories but even that has an eyebrow raising. Self-repairing even from brain death?? How was that even possible? That was before the fact they just seemed to know everything that had been going on. Just what was happening here?]

Free housing isn't so bad, right? [Jay doesn't even know who he's talking to, simply thinking out loud as he tries to wrap his head around the whole thing. Brought in by the government to play superhero was a lot to take in but the real kicker is the idea that everyone would have powers. What were these guys thinking? He can't complain that much though, not when Jay can feel his own powers back where they should be. The last few months in Central City had been pretty tough without his speed to help out. Hopefully those guys would be okay without him until he could find a way back.] It can't be that bad, right?

[The heat in Heropa is stifling enough that it even has Jay feeling it. Was this even normal for such a place? He sure hopes it won't be so hot all the time or Jay reckons a relocation will be on the cards. Coffee will fix it, coffee fixed everything and Jay heads in to the nearest coffee place, trying not to knock someone over as he walks in through the door.]

Sorry, excuse me. [And there it is, blessed air conditioning. With leaflet still in hand he heads over to order a coffee, completely amused by the list. For now his signature hat is in his other hand, Jay not having been to his own place to drop it off. It doesn't seem to be drawing too much attention and considering he's nearly lost the darned thing going between worlds before, it's staying with him for now.] Big Belly Burger didn't make it, but coffee is still a steadfast constant.

[It isn't difficult to overhear some key phrases in that place, especially when the person is vocal about taxes. For now Jay will ignore them, focusing on the coffee menu and wondering what to have. He hasn't spent anyone's tax money or gone to parties so far and sometimes people just wanted to pick a fight.]

[THIS IS NOT THE CITY HE REMEMBERS, this is very much a different city and it's bigger and scarier than any other city he's ever seen before. Which is one. Not to mention Komasan can barely tell what's a dream and what's reality anymore. He vaguely remembers his arrival, how he's supposed to be some sort of hero...somehow, and a part of him shivers at the thought that he may or may not have even been a youkai at the time. That's some scary stuff on its own, but now his new, terrifying "home" doesn't help make anything better. What is wrong with those cars? Why is this not Japan? Where are all the other youkai?

Not to mention the whole "people can suddenly see him" thing, that's worrying enough as it is, but some of the comments these Heropa townspeople have to say make Komasan a little more than nervous. So, despite the heat, he does the only thing he can do: Improvise.

Walking down the sidewalk, one might come across a paper bag with little white feet poking out at the bottom, just shuffling along. As there are no eye holes, it goes without saying that he's going to bump into people.]

[ Nothing to see here, yeah right. As the paper bag bumps into his legs, the Doctor moves down to attempt to pick up the paper bag (after all, it keeps on bumping into things!) and is a bit shocked when the paper bag comes off in his hands. Well. This isn't a normal bag (never mind the fact that normal bags couldn't talk, right? Maybe). But as soon as he sees Komasan's actual appearance, the Doctor goes from 'confused' to 'kid at Christmas'.

THIS IS AN ALIEN, there is nothing human about this tiny little white thing, hello there Komasan, you are the Doctor's new best friend. He is so sick of these humans, it's so reassuring to see someone so obviously inhuman, and so, big wide grins which look a bit terrifying considering that everything about him screams 'grumpy.' ]

About time! [ said with a manic grin on his face. ] Honestly, this place is so human, it's wonderful to get some different color in here.

[Yuri lost the military officials as soon as he could. With his history, being anywhere near authority set him on edge. He half expected them to stop him, or just send a squad to meet him in a back alley somewhere, but... either he'd lost them in all his moving around, or he really was 'free' to go where he pleased. The latter was seeming more likely--Yuri didn't exactly look inconspicuous. Tall, dressed like somebody obviously not from here, carrying a sword, it wouldn't exactly be hard to track him down.

At some point during his wandering through Heropa, he found a bench to settle down on. After pulling his long hair up in a tail to keep it off the back of his neck in the heat, he finally pulled the pamphlet out to give it a thorough read-over.]

They spin a pretty good story... Makes my skin crawl. [A pause, as he looks up from the pamphlet at you, yes you, fellow imPort who happened to be walking by.] Or maybe that's the 'nanites'.

Nonah

[The attention Yuri got in Nonah made him more uncomfortable than just the occasional dirty look in Heropa. It made him itchy for a more inconspicuous change of clothing, but to really blend in he'd have to lose the sword and that wasn't going to happen. His stride was long and confident enough to move him past scenery and people at a good enough clip that made him hard to accost, but at some point, two brave girls take it as a dare and head him off, shyly asking for a photo.]

A... what?

[He sounds more confused then annoyed, so the girls launch into an excited explanation, pulling out their phones to show him. This evolves into a full-on tutorial as they give Yuri a crash-course on his own communicator. Yuri takes all this in with a patient, neutral expression until the subject of a photo comes up again.]

Sure. You guys were a big help.

[The young ladies, delighted, snap their photos and scurry off with a wave, holding him to a promise for future autographs (and Yuri barely suppresses a grimace at this) when he had merchandise out.

Yuri waits until they're gone before sighing out loudly, running a hand through his long hair and tapping his sword against his shoulder.]

Hell. I really need a change of clothes.

[Luke had been sitting so quietly on the bench that most have walked by him without noticing--which he's been very appreciative of, as he's more than overwhelmed. So when Yuri addresses him, he's surprised.

He swings his feet beneath him, mostly out of nerves. The young imPort Yuri's chosen to address can't be more than thirteen, small for his age, and clearly nervous.]

I don't think they actually crawl in our skin. [One hand is brought to his chin in thought, and Luke tilts his head.] But they did say that the nanites can rearrange themselves to spell different things. So maybe they do move under our skin...eugh </i

[It's no use though, there are simply far too many people and no one seems to be wiling to answer any quandaries that Curie may have. As far as she's aware, this isn't any sort of glitch in her system, and certainly the entirety of her surroundings are drastically different than anything she's come to expect from the commonwealth. While she'd be the first to admit that her knowledge of above-ground life and livelihood aren't the greatest, there's something distinctly wrong about how clean and odd everything appears.

Also, the fact that no one will let her stop and examine all of the equipment is most troublesome.

But it's warm outside, and bright, and uncharacteristically vibrant and green. Radiation levels seem to be within an acceptable parameter, and there are so many people! The folder she's been handed helps somewhat, but not enough.]

[It seems the trend has continued; no acid rain, no ruin, really, wherever she is it's an astounding display of life, both flora and fauna. The cities seem to be so well preserved, it's fascinating.

Of course then, she's going to be seeking out anything and everything in order to gather information on wherever she's been dropped. Unfortunately, the local law enforcement seem to be unhelpful, and so she's taken to approaching the local populous with her questions, polite as ever.]

Fuu had read the pamphlet. She hadn't liked it. What was this about the USSR? That had broken up four years ago, hadn't it? Was she being drafted into the Cold War? With nanites injected into her body and an identificatin tattoo and the assurance that they had no idea how to control or shut down this transporter was quite difficult to swallow.

She made her way around with brisk steps, searching primarily for her friends Umi and Hikaru, but also for any kind of high-ranking official. There had to be some kind of mistake--she had been a warrior on another world, yes, but there was a difference between a sorceror's summoning and a government from her own planet drafting a minor without consent. In her search for neckties and/or gold braid, she accidentally bumped into one of her fellow draftees. "Oh! Pardon me, that was quite careless on my part," she said, quickly fixing a polite smile to her face. "I suppose we should make introductions--my name is Fuu Hououji."

Fuu did not like this situation at all--being drafted by a space-time warping artifact to work for a foreign government in what was evidently a parallel world somehow disturbed her more than falling by magic into a fantasy realm... and given how that adventure had gone, she had to admit she was really quite terrified. And also very angry at the United States.

As a draftee in an inordinately vague conflict, however, she had expected to be shouted at by some drill sergeant and was thus quite relieved to discover she was free to explore the city. She kept close to the imPort center... if that machine had grabbed her, chances were good that it had already or would soon latch onto Hikaru and Umi, and she didn't want to miss them.

She could hear the whispers and snatches of conversation, and she knew her status as a new imPort was obvious--her behavior was what would be called 'touristy' in other circumstances, staring hard at street signs and looking around continually, but it couldn't be helped. If she could find a Japanese consulate, that would be nice, but she wasn't very optimistic on that front.

Perhaps she might hear, among the whispers, people discussing how to tell apart imPorts and natives. There were a number of the former that clearly looked inhuman and were easy to tell apart, but human imPorts, if they took off any strange clothes they brought in from their own world, could be difficult to tell apart. But, one of them says, even if that's the case some of them are still pretty easy. The colorings of their eyes and hair are just unbelievable sometimes, and they always act weird.

Like that one, he says while pointing to across the street to where a young man in white robes with bright green hair is crouched in front of a pizza place and squinting at the sign in front of it. For Ferio, that's the fifth sign he's read but failed to grasp the meaning of, and he's long since given up on trying to get information because most people simply went "it's just pizza!" but that did not exactly answer his question: What exactly is pizza?
