MOM CAN YOU DROP ME OFF? (IN RUSSIA?)

TEST DRIVE MEME
Considering apping into MASK OR MENACE? Want to dip your toes into the setting and get a feel of whether your character will fit into it? Or maybe you're just cruising and want to play around? Then you've come to the right place! If you'd like, take a look at our ATP post!
Pick any of the following scenarios below or feel free to make up your own, but don't be afraid to throw yourself at someone else's thread, either!
And remember to have fun!01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place. The locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. A snippy voice wonders aloud: "My taxes are going to their parties and other expenses? When are they going to do something for us for a change? Why if they weren't around, I bet the Soviets--" These naysayers may, however, find themselves hushed with a judgmental: "You couldn't do what they do even if you had powers. They don't have to help us, you know!"
02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Heavy winds have people grasping at their newspapers and constantly brushing hair out of their faces, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.
Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about cameras and an incident involving gas. "Biological warfare... we sure some of them haven't defected?"
03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is normally known for being a little more on the apathetic side, but there's been tension in the atmosphere lately, contrasted by headlines broadcasting petty, unimportant local news and no worldly news.
People are not as friendly in this city and go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and thank them for their hard work. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.
04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities. It's loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. Advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, merchandise, and payment. ImPort action figures and merchandise are on sale now, and every corner's coffee shop is still serving festive peppermint goods of every shape and form.

[Evidently, that would likely make things a little more difficult in searching for the other seraph, assuming the same situation while here. Wherever 'here', in Heropa is, exactly. Sorey gestures for his friend to follow as he starts off down the opposite direction he'd come from.]
no subject
[ He doesn't think so. Sure, a few people spoke to him when he first came here, but there's no telling if that's normal here or not. Honestly, it feels little like it'd be a step closer towards their dream if that was indeed the case. ]
no subject
[It's hard to say. Sorey figures Mikleo gets what he means though. Not that this would stop Sorey at least attempting to look around. He has to know if any of the others are here. And he won't know if he doesn't at least try. With Mikleo, that's another set of eyes too. Not that Sorey figures it'd be hard to miss his friends, but the crowds and new sights are kind of distracting.]

[ He's not sure about Alisha, but he's sure if Rose is here, then Lailah and the others must be with her, as well. She was the Squire and everything. He's positive that it won't be difficult to spot them, especially Lailah. Her clothes did stand out. ]

[If Mikleo keeps an eye out while Sorey asks around, hopefully they'd find the others before too long. If they are here somewhere too. Sorey can't figure why they might not be around as well. Even if he had been unable to see or hear the seraphs prior, he's reunited with Mikleo once more here.
There's a lot of people though. And if the others had just arrived as well, it might make things a bit more challenging if they might not have been seen around as much as if they'd been here for a while. But Sorey tries, leading Mikleo up and down some of the busy streets, stopping to ask some people passing by while trying not to get too distracted by the flying...whatever that was above them.]
Looks like Rose might be around at least? I think, from what she said.
no subject
[ If so, then it was probably just a matter of time before they found her. That much was good news. And, if Lailah and the others were with her, all the better. If Rose were to find herself in any trouble, at least she'd have them there to help.
He readjusts himself, crossing his arms. ]
In the meantime, we could sight see. Knowing you, you're probably eager to do that much.
no subject
[So that works out, really. Sorey's relieved even just to know that much, even if part of him is worried, with the mentions of war going around. Remembering what he last experienced back home in dealing with just that between Hyland and Rolance. Still, he does look a bit sheepish at that. Glancing to the side, rubbing the back of his head with a crooked smile when Mikleo guesses just right.]
Well....it can't hurt to look around. The sooner we figure more about this place, the better we'll be able to find our way around later, right?
no subject
It's a good idea to think ahead, at least. Did anywhere specifically catch your eye while you were looking around before?
no subject
[Not. That Sorey necessarily recognized some of them, of course. But the boxes with moving pictures were pretty amazing, whatever they were. Not to mention the train station and automobile mechanics and that sort of thing as well.]
Come on, I'll show you!
[Just. Going to excitedly without thinking reach for Mikleo's hand and start leading the way now.]
no subject
They aren't going anywhere. We can look at things at our own pace. ... Though, I would like to to see that library myself.
[ His own pace quickens at the thought. ] Did you look inside? They probably have books that we don't have back at home.
no subject
I know, there's a lot I want to get a better look at. But the library was huge, Mikleo! I didn't look inside, but I bet they have all sorts of books we've never seen. Not to mention, if this is another world, I bet there's a lot about their history there too.
[Because. Honestly, if he had gone in, of course he wouldn't have emerged from the library so soon as to find Mikleo like this.]
no subject
[ Even he's getting really excited now. That much is evident in the way that he grins, focusing mainly on Sorey and their conversation now.
It'd be a good idea to read up on anything regardless. The more they know about this world, the better. ]
no subject
[He's excited just thinking about it, really! Another equivalent to the Celestial Record, so many more ruins and places they never knew of prior to arriving. Sorey can't help getting pumped up about it, Mikleo's own excitement and curiosity only serving to add to his own. Feeding off of each other as they so often do with their moods.]
Let's see it was.....
[Around here somewhere? He's pretty sure. From vague signs he does recognize having come past prior.]
no subject
[ Mikleo's points to the building that says library - not too far from them, actually. He does agree that it wouldn't hurt to spend some time reading, especially when Sorey seems so excited about doing that much. Besides, it's an opportunity that won't come to them every day. ]
We took time sightseeing before, remember? In a sense, doing this will be the same thing.
[ And... Sorey deserves a break. From all the Shepherd duties and burdens that he has to endure. ]
no subject
[He grins, all but pulling Mikleo along with him towards the library once Mikleo points it out to him. So many new books and secrets to uncover, let alone those of a whole new world. That and, yes, there's talk of war, but it doesn't appear as immediate as the one was back home, that Sorey gets something of a break from it for the time being at least.]
Come on, Mikleo! Where should we start....?
[Because once he's inside, he's just standing and staring. So many books....]
no subject
[ He can already start to guess where Sorey wants to go - just what kinds of books he wanted to check out first. While it's certainly not history from their world, he knows that it may excite Sorey just the same. ]
Excited?
no subject
[Sorey isn't quite running, but he's still going a bit fast as he follows Mikleo over to the history section. Which is bound to be full of all sorts of new books.
But of course he is nodding to Mikleo's question even as his gloved hand runs over some of the spines of these unfamiliar tomes. Now it's just a matter of which particular one to start with....]
What about this one?
[At least, the title implies it to be a more general history of this place, from what Sorey can vaguely figure.]
no subject
Or, how about this one? [ He reaches for a book that seems to be about various ruins and archaeology. That might also be something Sorey could be interested in. If not, then Mikleo will read it himself.
He looks amused at Sorey's enthusiasm, however. The quick pace, along with how fast he picked out a book to read. ]
... Definitely excited. You're just like a kid.
no subject
Sorey kind of is like a kid sometimes, mostly when it comes to anything involving ruins or history of sorts. Well, along with his more naive and optimistic nature.]
H-hey....like you can talk. But yeah, that one looks good! Let's read that one.
