01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place. The locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices. A snippy voice wonders aloud: "My taxes are going to their parties and other expenses? When are they going to do something for us for a change? Why if they weren't around, I bet the Soviets--" These naysayers may, however, find themselves hushed with a judgmental: "You couldn't do what they do even if you had powers. They don't have to help us, you know!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Heavy winds have people grasping at their newspapers and constantly brushing hair out of their faces, but that doesn't distract them from crowding you in excitement if you're obviously from a different time or world, or just let it slip that you're a newcomer. Children and young teenagers are especially likely to ask for an autograph and a photo.

Some locals seem less enthused to see you. They never make an approach, but they can be overheard scoffing and muttering something about cameras and an incident involving gas. "Biological warfare... we sure some of them haven't defected?"

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is normally known for being a little more on the apathetic side, but there's been tension in the atmosphere lately, contrasted by headlines broadcasting petty, unimportant local news and no worldly news.

People are not as friendly in this city and go out of their way to avoid walking down the same sidewalk as the more obvious looking imPorts pass through. Local cops say nothing, but they scowl at those imPorts and mutter under their breaths resentfully about "vigilantes". However, not all locals turn the other way seeing imPorts; some of them will offer a polite enough smile and thank them for their hard work. They don't stop to clarify what they mean, though.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities. It's loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. Anyone who they come to determine an imPort is bombarded with all sorts of offers; job offers, advertising gigs, spokesperson for advocating children stay in school, etc. Anything and everything! You name it. Shops offer discounts for food and clothing, whatever they need. Advertisements are abound for imPorts to make appearances at various, televised celebrations, luring them in with promises of free food, merchandise, and payment. ImPort action figures and merchandise are on sale now, and every corner's coffee shop is still serving festive peppermint goods of every shape and form.

[While Kel might have been able to pass easily, her clothes mark her as an out of towner at the least, and while she hates disappointing the children who occasionally come up to her, she's still not sure what a photo is.

Finally pulling away from the crowds, she stands on a corner, staring at the device she was given in some bafflement.]

[The crowds and constant colors are dazzling, as she walks down the street, there's just so many! And the TVs in the windows and the large billboards are nothing she has ever seen before!

[She's on horseback when she spots Keladry - and maybe Lucy is out of place, on horseback in a dress and riding sidesaddle like a lady, but with a bow on the other side of her saddle with her quiver in the middle of the city. But people know who Lucy is, and no one seems eager to comment.

She hears the muttering and sees the girl dressed like something more familiar to her, and she stops her horse just nearby.]

'tis no enchantment, but some form of science I poorly understand. But if I may offer my small assistance, I would be so glad to do so.

Mikazuki had been dubious, but after the third person had asked for his autograph it was starting to sink in (And she had been awfully cute AND had given him her number. Gotta check that out later.). After she wandered off, he threw his arms into the air, jostling the crow balanced calmly on top his head.

"I really AM a hero of justice! BEST. DAY. EVER!"

Well, he's a celebrity of sorts at the least.

After several cold shoulders, Mikazuki was getting frustrated at trying to find his destination. Eventually, he ran into you and identified you as another ImPort. Maybe he saw your tattoo. Maybe you look distinctly non-human. Maybe you just have an otherworldly aura. Either way he looked relieved.

"FINALLY someone else who won't just run off. Listen. I heard there was an underground ImPort fighting ring somewhere in this town and I wanna get in on that. Any idea where it is? I'm tired of just wandering around and looking."

Mikazuki sat at a cafe in the middle of a crowd of people, recounting his adventures for the locals. A crow stands calmly on the table in front of him following the conversation intently, but everyone seems to be ignoring it.

"...So obviously we chased it down, only to find out Hanako had demanded a one on one with the golem from the mage Animus himself! Well, I wanted to fight it too, obviously, but it had killed her boyfriend. What can you say to that?"

He's a very animated story-teller, making dramatic gestures (and sound effects) at all the right moments and imitating people's voices from comedic effect.

Dorian can't help but give Mikazuki a look that's half disgust and half annoyance. For all of Mikazuki thinking that he won't run off, Dorian.....is halfway tempted just to run off.

"Why on Earth do you think I would know?" Dorian's a hundred pounds soaking wet and is Very Pretty...aka not the type of person who knows that much about fighting (but exactly the type of person who was bragging to some pretty little native girl about how he knew all the hot-spots in Maurtia Falls just a few minutes earlier. In retrospect, that's probably why Mikazuki bothered him).

[ It's not like the clone isn't used to sudden shifts of circumstances. He was fourteen when the Komarrans came for him, and the clone-who-was-raised-unlike-the-other-clones suddenly understood what he was meant to do. And the past year, they've been chasing Vorkosigan, and every three weeks it's a new planet with new people and new surroundings. What's new is...

What's new is suddenly being alone. Not alone alone, exactly. There are people all around him. But there's not a single one of them that's looking after him. A few of them looking at him, yeah, the clone's been to enough planets that he's used to people looking at his strange form, but none of them are responsible for him. There's no one here who could stop him from crossing the street. There's no one here who could stop him from hurling himself under the wheels of a car if he wanted. No minders at his back, escorting him from place to place and making sure he doesn't stray. No guards ready to haul him in if he misbehaves. No Jacksonian servant-guards, no Komarran revolutionaries, no tutors, no Galen, no threat of Galen...In all his life, he only had one evening, a stretch of three hours, when he had no one looking after him. That's it. And after he'd taken that night, after Galen had discovered that he'd run away, then afterwards he'd...

The clone, upon thinking this, turns around suddenly, hunches over, and vomits into the grass by his feet. ]

[ There's something in Nonah he likes. They're all too busy with commerce to really notice what's strange about him - his short stature, his too-large head, the ugly face, the quasi-military uniform. All they're concerned with is that he's an imPort. And being an imPort...It gets him things. He's posed for three photographs - a process that turns his stomach more than a little bit, because why would they want this - but three photographs, and he has seventy dollars in his pocket. He could almost laugh at it. He rubs at one of the bills in his pocket, a crisp ten, and thinks of the uses he could put it to.

He decides: a milkshake. He drinks it as he walks, ravenously, and wipes his mouth with the back of his hand. A small man, identical to Admiral Naismith in every way. ]

[She sees Miles - of course that's Miles!! - and she's about to say something when he turns and vomits and that's when the concern rises. Admiral Naismith, as she knows him, is no delicate thing, for all that he's fragile, so being ill must be something terrible.]

Admiral-

[She's next to him, then, on her knees, her hands on his shoulders.]

Are you quite all right?

[There's worry on her face, open and deep concern.]

Conan Edogawa | Detective Conan

Conan was not blind to the atmosphere in Maurtia Falls. As he walked warily down the streets, he took note of the mutterings and small incidents all around him.

It added up to a very troubling picture. Even more so when he added the other information he had learned here.

He wasn't sure if he should be grateful that his apparent age earned him kinder treatment. Not when the polite smiles and pleasant greetings were accompanied by questions about his parents and whether he'd enrolled in school yet.

Conan takes a step back from the latest concerned adult as he attempts to extract himself from the conversation.

Kudo wasn't someone he was actually expecting to see, though some part of him still looks down in case the next child in really a seventeen year old in disguise (Heiji came back after all), but no one can miss that awkward insistence on how everything is fine, and totally okay and no, he doesn't need any help ma'am.

Heiji was in uniform today, though with everything going on with Russia it's hard for anyone to focus on normal day-to-day stuff, so he walks right up behind Conan and places a hand on his head, smiling helpfully at the concerned adult.

"That's okay, ma'am, thanks for yer concern. I'll take it from here. Make sure he gets to where he needs t'be." There's a pleased lilt to his voice that Conan is sure to recognize, even through the English.

Sorey l Tales of Zestiria

01: Heropa:

[This place is so busy. So big. It reminds him of the likes of the captials back home. Ladylake and Pendrago. But this is still on an entirely different scale. So bright, so crowded, he can't help excusing himself as he might accidentally bump into some strangers along the way as he explores, rather aimlessly.

Eventually, he finds his way into one of the shops, getting an offered free drink to sip at as he takes in his surroundings. While Sorey tries to be pretty relaxed and roll with things, this is something else. Especially with what he just recalls back home. And no immediate sighting of his friends.He can't help overhearing some of the locals talking either, and that worries him farther.

Sorry if he ends up distracted and thus possibly spills some of that drink on you as a result?]

W-whoa! Sorry! I was...

[Distracted and bumbling around like the clueless teenager he is. Who also may have dropped his file in the process.]

You okay?

04: Nonah

Ah? I'm really....I can't make any promises, okay?

[He kind of learned some about sticking to his limits and not literally being able to help every single person who asks him for help. But this is....almost even more overwhelming than those that kept approaching him as Shepherd back home. These people don't make it easy though, crowding around him and seeming to sense Sorey is too nice to really push or yell at them to leave.]

General/Wildcard:

[Do you see this teenager? The one possibly running around seemingly talking and interacting with....er, the air? What is up with that? He's obviously new around here, his Shepherd's garb making him stand out a fair bit, even back home.

Come ask who he is talking to? Watch him apparently start a tickle war with an invisible best friend? Or wince as he is smacked upside the head by nothing?]

Ah, there you are!

[ The voice that calls out is an unfamiliar one, but you wouldn't know it from the way she waves. Nor would anyone else, apparently; she only has to give the odd 'thank you!' and 'yes, of course' as she closes the distance between them.

Plaid skirt, high socks, white blouse . . . if it wasn't for the tattoo on her wrist, and maybe the pink of her hair, she could be just another citizen here. ]

We aren't even close to the café—this assignment isn't going to finish itself.

[ She shifts the backpack on her back, and . . . winks. ]

O1 - Heropa

Disdain. Okay, that was something Chloe was used to. After arriving and being told she couldn't go home (duh) and that she had superpowers (holy shit) she'd been shuffled off to Heropa which was...not bad, she guessed.

She was sitting on the back of a bench, her boots on the seat and a cigarette in her hand as she watched people coming and going. Maybe it was the blue hair that gave her away as an import? Probably the tattoo she was making no attempt to hide, really. Not that she cared. She liked sticking out.

And the dirty looks felt just like home.

When she spotted someone else with the import tattoo walking by, she waved them down with a little smirk, taking her cigarette out from between her lips before she spoke. "Hey man, you got any idea how we turn on whatever these 'powers' we got?"

She definitely needed to figure that out.

02 - De Chima

At first she'd felt weird at the attention, but the pictures? Getting her picture taken reminded her of Max, which was...nice. Besides, it was hard to say no to a bunch of eager kids with big, trusting smiles. Good thing she wasn't a pickpocket along with all her other problems, huh?

But after half an hour or so of it, crouching down for pictures with kids, smirking (or throwing up the bird) with older people and laughing at their surprise, it was getting a bit overwhelming, so she ducked into an alley out of the way, tugging out a cigarette and leaning against the wall as she patted her pockets for...

Where was her lighter?

Holy shit one of those little kids had snatched on her. Shit. Shit!

Okay. No big deal. Lots of people smoked, right?

"Hey." Called out to the first person walking past the alley, as she held up her cigarette. "You got a light I could borrow?"

04 - Nonah

So far, Chloe had a paper from a clothing store, an electronics store, and two food places all promising her food, stuff, and money if she did some advertizing for them. She'd almost agreed to the first one when she'd seen the second guy waving at her, and now she was just warding them off with half-promises to return.

She had to find the best deal, after all.

But this one, oh man. This poor bastard in front of her...

"You want me to advocate kids staying in school?" She asked it loud enough that anyone around could hear her, and her expression was clearly somewhere between amused and absolutely shocked.

Someone drag her away and rescue this poor man before she starts laughing at him. Or cursing at him...

[ Sarah sees the girl getting hounded by natives and can't help but shake her head. Jesus, these guys never fucking quit, do they? And they clearly don't have a good eye for their audience. This girl looks about as likely to try and convince other kids to stay in school as Sarah was to… well, to stay in school herself.

She's pretty much just passing by, but the girl looks like a punk, and punks look out for their own. Sarah gives Mr. Stay In School a pretty good shove as she pushes past him—not enough to hurt him, just enough to send him slightly off balance—saying as she does: ] Oi, piss off, she's not interested.

[ Then, calling over her shoulder to Chloe: ] Just tell 'em to piss off, they'll get the idea.

Amethyst | Steven Universe | 04

[Amethyst isn't the type to get overwhelmed in loud, busy places. It's what she'd call being in her zone. Still... her arms only have so much room, and currently they're stuffed with fliers, business cards, coupons, newspapers, sales papers, and at least one hole-punched membership card for someplace selling junk food. It's getting pretty annoying.

She pauses, looks down at the bundle in her arms, and takes a bite out of a flier for some restaurant.]

Meh. It'll do.

[Shrugging, she continues walking, noisily munching.]

[Lapis lives in Nonah, as much as one can qualify 'has a room with two stuffed animals and a secondhand reaper scythe' as living somewhere. of the four cities she knows it the best, which means that sometimes (slightly more than rarely) she'll actually walk around the place rather than fly.

of course this would be the place she finally runs into a Crystal Gem.

she sees Amethyst coming towards her and goes stock still, heedless of the inconvenience it causes for the other pedestrians trying to navigate around her small frame. this was an inevitability that she'd accepted from the start, but that rush of white hot anger surges forth with as much intensity as the days she'd finally broken free of the mirror's grasp.

be calm, Lazuli. things were different here. you are in command of the situation now, not any of them.]

[Amethyst by herself wasn't a threat. but Lapis' luck isn't good enough for her to have been a solo arrival - and the private part of her hidden away desperately hopes that the Crystal Gem's travel buddy in this instance had been Seven.]

[It would be difficult to assume that the man riding through De Chima was anything but a hero, armor strapped tightly to his chest and goggles covering his eyes. This has been his daily routine for more than half a year now - wherever he can find crime, he'll do whatever it takes to stop it.

Of course, there are always the more mundane situations that require his attention. A young girl is unlucky enough to lose her grip for just one second, and before anyone can react it's caught the current of the wind, gusting downtown away from its owner.

Licenseless Rider skids his bike to a stop when he sees it, swiveling around to face the vagrant in the breeze and the crying girl it once belonged to.]

Don't worry! I'll be right back!

[And with that he starts pedaling furiously to catch a single balloon, lifting out of the seat to gain as much speed as he can while remaining completely in the bike lane.]

[Now free of his helmet and roaming as a civilian, Licenseless Rider moves a hand up to adjust his glasses as he walks past ad deal after ad deal, politely turning any businessmen down. Usually, he prefers to take his bike around the city, but Justice is in need of some important repairs that he has to find the parts for. That is the original purpose of his mission, of course, but he finds himself delayed when he stops by a shop offering action figures of various superheroes.]

Hm?

[He pauses and crouches down by the shop window, perplexed. It isn't if he didn't have his fair share of action figures when he was a boy, but it raises some concerns about the integrity of the men and women behind these toys. They could be perfectly respectable people, of course, but he's always deplored the idea of a hero valuing fame over justice.

A smile spreads across his face anyway. He can think of someone from home who deserves to be on an action figure.]

Oh! I'm not in your way, am I?

[Don't look now, but one of the people the action figures is based on is heading out of a nearby bookshop. Of course, she's wearing a sweater instead of armor, and a bag of books instead of sword and bells, but the unnaturally pale skin and bobbed hair are hard to miss... especially when she almost collides with him.]

Marco Campbell | Avalon High

[ It was times like these when Marco desperately wished he wasn't a high school dropout. Because spoiler alert: this boy knows nothing about the Soviet Union. It fell when he was what, five? Early '90s, he didn't give a shit about anything in the early '90s, he was in elementary school. And yeah, so that stuff got mentioned in history class, but expecting Marco to pay attention in history? Yeah right. Granted, if he knew he was gonna get kidnapped and thrust into some weirdo bizarre world that had hovercars (sweet) and poodle skirts (not as sweet) he'd pay more attention. As it is, Marco has absolutely no idea what's going on.

He's certain about one thing. This service to the nation crap? Not his style. Having a friggen Admiral for a stepfather gave Marco a negative view of the military. So, as someone thanks him for his service, he can't help but roll his eyes and let off a little scoff. ] Lady, what about this says 'serviceman?'

[ He's got scruffy hair, gauges in his ears, and a tribal tattoo around one bicep (only visible because Marco's wearing a workout shirt for his top—and is downright shivering because of that). Not exactly middy material. Turning to the nearest person, Marco rolled his eyes before asking, ] Can you believe that crap?

[ Okay, superpowers. He had read his file, he knew that he had two powers. One of them sounded like total crap (what the hell did 'tied to darkness' mean anyway) but the other? Something he wanted to try out. His file said that he had darkness manipulation which honestly? Sounded pretty badass. As he leaned against a building, Marco scrunched up his nose, concentrated....and created a small little splotch of pure blackness in his hand. Okay. That's cool. Frowning again, the splotch of blackness vanished from his hand and appeared in front of his face, like a pair of safety goggles (although in this case, a pair of safety goggles that looked like they were drawn in Microsoft Paint.) ]

Sweet.

[ As Marco stepped away from the building, he took a few steps to the left, and then to the right, making sure that he couldn't see anything. This power was pretty cool. Bam, instant blindfold. He was going to win so many fights with this thing, even if it was a bit cheap.

And hey, it was a damn good instant blindfold. And unknown to him, in his moving about and trying to make sure he couldn't see anything, he had gotten himself turned around. So, as Marco turned back to lean against the building, he soon found out that where he thought the building was wasn't actually there. Thankfully, he didn't walk into the road. Unfortunately...he walked straight into a stop sign with a louder than expected thunk.

Hopefully, nobody was looking. (Someone was probably totally looking.) ]

( ooc: so Marco's tied to darkness power basically means that anybody who's magical, is connected to King Arthur, or is an animal-person can tell that he's bad news. No specifics, just that "wow, something is majorly wrong with this guy" )

Wow, though Mikazuki, as Marco walked face first into the stop sign, There is something majorly creepy about this guy.

He didn't run, though. If anything, the aura of dread surrounding this guy made him want to get closer. He walked up, giving off something of an ominous atmosphere himself. The crow on his shoulder did not make him look any more wholesome.

[Despite Heropa's size, it's still a city that Lan's never heard of, let alone been to (in fact, he's not even sure what country it's supposed to be in, just that it isn't his own), and so he's completely lost. His luck's been pretty poor so far, in that everyone he's asked has either brushed him off or ignored him completely.

Still, there's always the chance he'll get someone nice, and so he'll keep asking around. ImPort or not, he can't tell the difference right away.]

[Lan could move just as well on skates as he could simply walking. On an empty road it was easy, but a crowd made it a little more difficult. But he wanted to be in that direction, and so he had to go through the crowd.]

Leonard Snart didn't like to leave things up to chance. He was exploring the city, mentally mapping routes, streets, shops, anything he might later need.

After a while, he ducks into a coffee shop to sit and think a while. While his appearance and parka aren't really anything out of the ordinary, a brief glimpse of his cold gun makes the barista ping him for an import and offer him a drink on the house, laughing nervously. Cold just smiles. ]

Sure. Can't say no to a freebie. [ He glances to the next person in line, whoever they are. ] Get one for my friend too.

[ Might as well be generous with his luck, right? Could open up a conversation too, see if he can get them to spill the beans on this place. ]

[Well the place was definitely bustling--not anything close to San Francisco though. He would take this place over Delta Vega any day of the week so he can't complain too much.

What he could complain about was that he was not aboard the Enterprise and he was convinced that there must have been some minute difference in either the equation the future Spock had provided or else there were slight differences in the physics between their two universes that made the equation for transwarp beaming incorrect. Either way, Kirk was in a mood.

The negative comments that floated by none-too-subtle certainly weren't helping him either. There was that crackle of electricity right underneath his skin that made him clench and unclench his fists to release some of the tension; it was the same itch he used to get when he wanted to fight.

He turns into a local bar and accepts a shot as a welcome. Kirk wasn't gonna turn down a free shot, but he certainly wasn't feeling welcome. He had a lot of things to sort through, but first he needed to get a re-do on today. A couple of drinks would relax him and get him ready to look into what the hell was happening around here and what, if any, differences in the physics of this universe differed from those of his.

He sits down next to you at the bar. He motions at you.]

I'll have what they're having.

[Skye hadn't quite grown used to the constant stream of new people showing up in this town. It felt like the moment she had started to become familiar with people, more popped up.

Like this dude for example, he had to be new. Her eyes flickered over him quickly as he took a seat next to her. No outward signs of what his powers were, which only made it more interesting to try and figure out what it was exactly. Not that hers were obvious from the outside either.]

[ Good morning, Heropa! There's a dirty, shirtless teenager crouched in one of your dark alleyways, happily conversing with about half a dozen sewer rats. He's wearing a bandana folded in a way that makes it look suspiciously like he has mouse ears, and occasionally sips from an enormous slushie that one of those nice ladies at the ice cream place had given him. ]

Nice to meet you, Jeremy! And you too, Professor Fizzlewhiskers. And Milton, and Findlay, and Eugenia and Mrs. Sudbury. How old are your babies? Can they open their eyes yet?

[ The heavy winds have blown Mouse's bandana right off his head, and he's running after it full-tilt, scrambling up and over staircases, bouncing off walls, and basically parkouring the hell out of downtown De Chima in his pursuit.

Surely you have to have something to say to our youth. A few words of encouragement is all I ask for. [The first woman pulls in front of her, only to have Garnet side-step her. The second ducks in from the side and aims to keep her pace.] Charity, please, you do so much for us already. Why not let us show you some appreciation? You deserve to be paid dear.

[Garnet stops turning her head as she spots someone who looks as much of an import as she does and heads straight for them. The third and final woman meekly follows, fills up her lungs with all the courage she can muster and manages to shout out:] Can I have an autograph?

[Garnet pauses, turns.] Your education system is flawed, but you will escape your fate if you so choose. No, thank you. And, okay. [She measures out quickly grabbing a pen clearly meant to be used on a notebook and signins the last woman's shirt instead. She drops the pen and turns to her target, the nearest import, and moves to either wave them along or place a hand on their shoulder and keeps going.]

joseph kavinsky was always infamous, if by 'always' three years of his teenage life will count, and being a teenager, three years inevitably felt like a fucking eternity. the circumstances in which he finds himself now are different from the dubious popularity he used to enjoy. most significantly, parents are allowing children near him. really small ones, too. there's a crowd around him, right on the sidewalk. one toddler with hands starfished on his jeans, possibly trying to check if his dick is glowing through his right pant leg. and a girl, hair braided, roughly his age coming up with a notebook filled with what are, apparently, friendly messages from other neighborhood superheroes.

superheroes. he starts to laugh. an accurate assessment would render this reaction a correct diagnosis of: boy is fucking crazy, but the girl just smiles back, and her dad in the background is shooting him a thumbs-up, because way to go, superhero. kavinsky takes the pen, and wonders to himself if fame itself can overdose on vitamin d. he's accustomed to performing in the dark; sunshine is for pretenses, sitting hungover through classes if you aren't cutting them for the day, showering the shriveled remains of last night's spunk off, calculating the eta until sunset. this world is fucking ridiculous.]

[he knows where they eat. there's a specific group, in their fifties and sixties. obviously former ranchers, mostly, who congregate for brunch outside this place called charlie's every other tuesday. they bitch about imports. they bitch about cameras. they bitch about gas and bio-warfare. they also bitch about the evo's engine noise, when kavinsky drives by; he can't hear them, but he notices their eyes in the rearview, cold and wrinkly with judgment/dementia/impending death.

conflict is not inevitable, it's just kind of fun. besides, he checks out charlie's website. four-star brunch, that's pretty fucking decent, and he probably needs to eat something approaching a meal a day if he's going to retain his ass by the end of the year. (if.) he shows up at eleven-thirty the next day, ambles down the sidewalk toward the huddle of hunched shoulders, unironic stetson hats, and suspender straps around the small, circular table. the first old man to spot him rockets to his feet, points. kind of yelps.

kavinsky is wearing a gas mask. one of the cool ones. giant, round alien-eyed goggles, filter; the rubberized tech-nightmare version of a skull, and just as popularly symbolic of death. he advances, and the men peel back, fluttering backward, more uncertain than frightened, but more frightened than certain, not angry enough to be interesting. when he reaches their table, he picks a strip of bacon off an abandoned plate. waves it.] Later, cunts! [his voice comes out distorted, alien, but happy anyway.]

It had started so simply. "Can you tell my fortune?" some kid had asked. Kali was dressed like a witch - hell, she WAS a witch. So she humored him. Her fortunes were bogus, that wasn't the kind of magic she practiced, but she could pretend for a kid's sake.

Except afterwards, a line seemed to have formed. She had nothing better to do, so she relented. People started handing her money for it - not like she needed it for anything, but why would she turn it away? But it's been an hour now. The line's only grown. Everybody wants their fortunes told by a real witch. Kali's getting hungry. Somebody, think of her stomach...!

So what's this other imPort there for? A rescue? Or to get their fortune told as well? Either way, get it over with so Kali can get something to eat.


[ B - The, uh, Fire Option ]

So Kali usually stays in the local park, in a tent. However, it's been getting colder, and tents aren't so great for the cold. She's made an attempt to live in her actual assigned housing.

However, one thing led to another, and now she is outside her assigned housing, in the snow, clad in a nightgown and shouting down a firefighter trying to put out the raging fire that's threatening to engulf the entire complex.

"I HAD it until control until you bozos showed up! I'm telling you, I set that fire because it was cold! Don't you see all of this snow!?"

Somebody please explain to her what a heater is. Also, maybe put out the fire. These firefighters don't look like they can handle it.


[ C - The Technology and/or Animal Option ]

The setting; Heropa, Florida. The scene... A witch flying on a broom, chasing after an actual tiger. The tiger seems to have a comm device in tis mouth.

"COME BACK HERE WITH MY COMMUNICATOR, you little SHIT! That is NOT food!" The tiger growls out something, which prompts Kali to respond with "I don't care what it smells like! I will ROAST you and turn you into dinner, don't think I won't...!!" Somebody please help.


[ D - The Villain Fighting Option ]

Kali has a secret. Her body houses the demon god Asuri, ruler of the Fifth Kingdom of Hell. Normally, not actually a huge deal, since she's sealed in there pretty good. But... not today.

Magic runes cover every inch of Kali's skin and her eyes glow a bright red. A ball of fire floats over her hand as she looks over the city. "This city will do. The first to fall in this new world to its new master...!"

Running is probably the best idea here. But heroes aren't known for being the brightest, are they?

[ Well, Kali seems to have gotten her communicator back from option C. Time to put it to use. Cover your ears, imPorts, because somebody thinks you need to shout to get your words across long distances. ]

He was going to die.

He was going to die on the other godforsaken earth, in godforsaken Florida (of all places), in some godforsaken town he'd never even heard of surrounded by a bunch of godforsaken, slack-jawed, ungrateful, ignorant, undoubtedly corrupt regressives, who had probably have been lucky to graduate high school let alone grasp the significance of the Incursion that was soon to occur between their worlds.

His helmet had failed to establish contact with either Fury or City, ensuring that Reed was stranded - not to say that Fury would or even could help him. Oh, Reed could've cobbled together a transport or a teleporter to whisk him away home or to a place with better reception, but that would take hours to days and he didn't have days he had no time no time at all none NONE--

Maybe karma is real after all, and maybe she's a mean bitch to boot. Reed couldn't help it and found himself breaking out into a hollow, mirthless chuckling that lasted longer and was louder than necessary, earning him even more glances from those nearby who hadn't already caught an eyeful of the shiny new Import.]

02: De Chima

[Reed was starting to think that maybe this town hadn't been the best choice. He'd shied away from Nonah explicitly because of its liveliness, and yet it turns out this place wasn't much better.

Currently, he was being mobbed by a group of excited children, each firing questions at him rapid fire, entranced by this Import and his doofy helmet.]

Okay, wow, enough!

[With that, Reed extended his body up and up and up, stretching his legs out over the children and other folks watching in awe and, with a few great big steps, managed to cross the road and slither onto a nearby roof, out of their reach but not their attention.

In the old, days when he'd first been exposed to the public, he'd kind of liked the attention from the public and press. Now, Reed couldn't stand it.]

it's over as soon as it started. she opens her eyes, looks down, and- oh god, that's why she can't feel her tail. she doesn't have a tail. she brings her shaky, fleshy, human hands up to her cheeks, squeezes her cheeks. yep, no mistake. she's human now.

she opens her mouth, takes an unsteady breath, and starts hollering. ]

[Running around a city (an actual city, archaic as it is) wasn't entirely in Cayde's morning to-do, but given the circumstances he's trying to make the best of things. At the very least, the strange transdimentional jaunt that he'd taken got him out of the tower. That was at least one positive in the sea of confusion, suspicion, and unanswered questions that he'd been facing ever since arriving.

The welcome brigade hadn't been too through on what in the world was actually going on, beyond the bit of paper that they'd shoved at him. Bureaucracy at its finest, really. The lack of answers didn't sit well with him though, and what kind of Hunter would he be if he didn't keep himself informed of everything around him.

So far, questioning the locals hadn't gotten him far, mostly it had gotten him stares and too many questions in return, and so it was time to take matters into his own hands. The temporary solution? Surveillance. At least for the time being, until he could make sense of the basics.

At least his Light was still intact, thank the Traveler on that, and it's comforting to feel it well up beneath his feet as he leaps once, twice, three times up and up and up into the air in order to land on a higher branch of a rather barren tree. First step, complete. Observation time is-

Perhaps he's forgotten that this doesn't seem to be normal behaviour in this city, because his antics have attracted a small crowd. There's a lot of whispering and pointing going on, oops.]

Uh, hey there. Real good view up here. You should try it some time, yeah.

[The city is huge, at least by his judgement, but there are so many people packed into it that moving abut unnoticed is actually proving to be difficult. He could activate his cloaking, yes, but that wouldn't help having to move through the glut of people bustling about the sidewalk. And unfortunately, the wind made jumping from rooftop to rooftop seem like a pretty bad idea for the time being.

Said wind, in all its obnoxious glory, also chose that moment to kick up, and fling his cloak to the side and-

right into the face of someone passing by. Whoops.]

Sorry about that. Cloaks, right? Always getting caught in things, tangled, y'know I had a harpy try to take off with mine once, let me tell you, not the best afternoon I've ever had.

Heropa seems nice enough, a bit too small and a bit too nice for his liking but it's not like he has much of a choice for a place to start. For now he's agreed to be called a Hero if only for the benefits they eagerly threw at him. It doesn't mean he has to lift a finger unless he damn well feels like it to help someone and if they don't like it that's too bad. He's sure he's not the only--what did they call him--ImPort? Other heroes who want to play at being good guys can do the work, he'll just reap the benefits in name alone. At least, that's the plan. The other plan was to learn his way around the city, how it works and just what he can get away with. More heroes living in town means more challenge, but that doesn't deter Leonard Snart. More challenge means more entertainment. Of course, it could also mean being labeled a Criminal. Not that he minds that much, but the loss of benefits would hinder his first step into this new world. He'll have to play it cool for now, be patient and calculating in his moves. And if anyone who truly knows Captain Cold would know that's what he does best.

He doesn't much like the title he's given, makes his skin crawl when he hears it but he could get used to the freebies (even if stealing them would be more of a rush). In fact a part of him wants to see just what people are willing to give him just because of what he is. The glances or attention isn't really what he wants but he'll just sort of smile in that roguish sort of way and nod all the same. Let them believe he's here to help. A lot of people are too damn friendly and the longer he wanders he realizes not everyone feels the same. Maybe it's the Cold Gun at his side, or maybe they're more perceptive than they look, but some people steer clear, giving him a wide berth. THAT is more like it. He likes his space.

He'll spend most of his time wandering and getting familiar with the city, checking out a newspaper or stopping for a Mocha (they're all too happy to put mini marshmallows in it for him). All this attention doesn't sit well with him and there is talk of other cities. He'll be stopping to gather information on other locations and what they'd have to offer. He'd wander around to different shops, checking out some of the more expensive ones and mostly looking for anything that catches his eye. Something that may want to make him stay just long enough to steal it. At some point he'll stop and get a hot dog at a vendor stand or later that night he might end up at one of the local dive bars as he spends all day figuring out a plan.

(ooc: TL;DR - you can bump into Leonard pretty much anywhere you want.)

Dechima seemed too enticing to pass up and it's a welcome change. Maybe it's the parka but it seems he's able to blend in a little better here. It helps that he leaves his Cold Gun at the place he'll be calling home, locked up somewhere safe where no one will find it or mess with it while he's gone. The moist weather alone could be used to his advantage when and if he decides to make a move. At some point he will want to play around with these new powers of his but he'll need a place to do it. He'd rather not give away the surprise to any nosy neighbors. This town has more potential he feels and much of his time will be spent wandering it like he did in Heropa. He's making more mental notes about this one though, because this is where he plans to stay for a time and eventually take all they have to offer, be it free or otherwise. It's quiet but they definitely seem to like their shopping. Though he may end up looking into another, smaller city to actually call home and play hero with the intent of traveling to other places when they've got something he wants. He's not decided yet how to play at this, hasn't quite figured out this world, but he's got time. And lots of it.

Snart will be found once again at one of the local bars at night, quietly drinking and keeping to himself. He'll flash his wrist for the bartender to be a bit more friendly with the free drinks.

(ooc: Same as above! I am open to almost anything if you want to run into him nosing around and gathering information about the city.)

Choose your own adventure! Leonard may wander off to see the other towns too just to get a feel for them before he moves on to ones that interest him more. He'll sample local fare and check out landmarks or the news for anything big or interesting. Walking along, out with the humans. This is a new and interesting experience for Elizabeth. The drinks are nice, though she admits on her own, and for free she somewhat fails to see the point, still she is cheerful and curious all at the same time as she accepts them with a bemused smile.

Upon hearing of the soviets though, a challenge, perhaps this is the shadow of this world! Perhaps these are the monsters in the dark here. Nyarlathotep's minions or some other god's she can't tell, but still, a challenge! Something to beat coin out of and take her time.

This city seems even friendlier than the last, more giving, more wanting, just wanting what is what bothers and confuses Elizabeth. It is almost like this is a trap, set up to sedate these imports and blind them with gifts. Do these people need new gods? Is this an ordeal of its own? Such traps are the most subtle.

Still upon looking at the action figures she muses, there are some gods that have their forms dictated by the whims of mankind, and these are not exactly anatomically correct. Slam Beefcake as a model for the men can in some instances make sense, but the women seem to have tiny spines that could in no way hold up in a real fight.

"I wonder if their worship and idols are based off of perfect ideals, or the artist who makes these simply needs glasses. I could never fight like that, or... In that."

[ It's very sunny here, and Bruce can't be sure whether or not that's damning commentary on Gotham itself. Of course it can be sunny, but the weather is overcast many times. There's also the smog to consider on bad days. The point is this tropical weather in the heart of winter is nice. So are the people by and large.

He rarely if ever went out in the city without his parents or an escort. The one time he had to blend in with Selina certainly proved how deep the corruption and ill-will seeped. Here he's already receiving free samples, all of which he's tried in earnest to pay for. No one will budge on it, however. So he does his best to sit in peace with his free smoothie and big salts pretzel covered in mustard. So far he's gotten none of it on his sweater; less can be said for his chin.

On a busy afternoon on the boardwalk, Bruce admires the colors the sea makes when the waves crash against the shore. Gotham's waters have never looked this good. ]


MAURTIA FALLS

[ One thing that certainly is familiar to see is a random pinching right on the street. The target, however, has had a lot less experience with it. It starts by a man bumping into Bruce, hard enough to push him off his gait. Then he realizes his bag is off his shoulder. ]

Hey! That's my bag! [ He darts after the man, but he already has several meters on Bruce already. ] Stop him! Someone, please, stop that man!

[ Where's one of these heroes when you need them? ]

[From beneath the boardwalk, there is a sudden disturbance as about a dozen gulls start flying up from under the planks where they were lurking, probably doing things birds do while under a board walk. Eating some garbage from the beach ten, fifteen feet below.

From what emerges next onto the beach, if Bruce dared to look down was the perpetrator of all this chaos. This black feline looking creature breaks left and up the hillside which was built into the boardwalk to try and keep pace with one of the birds. When he leaps to catch it, he barely misses, landing on one of the building's awnings nearby. Dammit.

Resigning to his failure, he drops off and onto the board walk, shaking some sand off his paw. Meeting eyes with Bruce, he just turns his head up as a curt greeting.]

[ He has been tased twice.

The first time had been an unintentional outcome. He had awoken in a strange place and acted accordingly. Things were smashed, hands were broken. The second was merely because they were lucky. There are not many men who can take Illya Kuryakin down -- but then there are not many men with kind of weapons he's seen here, so he's only smarting a little.

Strangely, after they give him his file and point out the exit he agrees to stop fighting them. Not due to a lack of wanting, he would quite like to beat some answers out of them, but more due to their stupidity. Letting him go is not a wise move and Illya knows it. But then, they are American. He tells them that himself, spits the word with a curl of his lip and storms out into the open.

Of course, that's when it gets strange.

It's like his world has been warped. A car speeds past without wheels. A child plays on a hovering toy. Illya wishes he had some of Gaby's vodka on hand. ] Der'mo.

[ Things go from bad to worse.

Illya spends a fair amount of time stalking Heropa's streets. He has not been able to get through to Solo, nor Gaby, nor U.N.C.L.E. at all. The shaking rage in his hands has gotten worse. He wants to hit something.

Thankfully, the opportunity presents itself. One of the natives mutters something about the soviets, about scum, about how the whole land should be razed to the ground and he snaps. His shaking hands are curled in the man's jacket before he knows it and he shoves. The shop window rattles. Someone gasps. He hears a bag drop. ] Look at you. You know nothing.

[ There is an audible intake at his accent, thick and Russian. He jerks his grip and the man wobbles, his pale and fat face breaking out in a sweat. Disgust curls in Illya's gut. ] Spineless. And weak. This is the glory of America? Flabby men who think they should be heard? Nyet.

[ He has found the vodka, at least.

Imposing is the only way to describe the man in the bar, he is tall and thin but the way his frame sits implies more wall than anything pliant. The shot glasses in front of him mean he's been here for a while. The bruises on his knuckles mean he's had a bit of an adventurous day. His face is a disquiet mask.

When he sees a shadow fall over his table his fingers tighten on the glass but he doesn't look up. ] What?

[ how the fuck did a cat get into the bar. Well, knowing Hummy, she probably just thought "oh hey, there are people in there!" and wandered in absolutely oblivious to what a bar actually was (she has no clue what you do at a bar). This place seemed nice! At least, it had a lot of people in there who all looked very happy and, most importantly, it played music.

Of course, that still didn't change the fact that she didn't know where she was. That guy at the table, he looked like he belonged here. He also looked like he'd know what this place was and how Hummy could get back home (she is so lost). And hey, maybe she could have some of whatever's in those tiny little glasses...some of this stuff didn't look all that good or smell all that good, but the mixed drinks that came in pretty colors inevitably caught her eye.

So it's less of a shadow over the table and more of a shadow on the table, as Hummy bounces from floor, to chair, to table. ]

Ah, Hummy just wants to know how she can get one of those yummy looking pink drinks! And...what exactly this place is.
