WE'RE ALL CREEPS, WE'RE ALL WEIRDOS

Welcome to [community profile] maskormenace's CR MEME!!

How does this work? It's easy!
Make a thread for yourself or a comment with your character's name on it. Reply to that post with your filled out forms for organization's sake.
Comment to other people! See if their answers fit anything you're looking for and if yours fit anything they are. Don't be intimidated, carpe diem, we like to party.
Keep checking back! We strongly encourage you to track top-levels even, if possible. We want to make sure everyone gets their fair shot.
    Play nice and have fun!
    ( THE BASICS )
    Name: Your character!
    Canon: Self-explanatory!!
Character's (approximate) age: Or how old they appear.
Character's powers: List and describe them!
Is your character registered/will they be?: Why or why not! Maybe unsettled heroes will want to make connections with each other. Maybe registered heroes will want to team up. So on!
Where does your character live?: What housing residence are they in? Meet your roommates if you haven't already, make plans!
Are you looking for roommates?: If your character is currently housing alone, or planning to move out of their assigned housing. Is your character considering moving to one of our other cities? See who else might be doing the same!
What is your character's job?: And are they sticking with it? Enjoying it? Coordinate with potential coworkers, employers, or patrons -- why not!

    ( THE DETAILS )
RUNDOWN -- what are your character's skills, likes/dislikes, urgent needs?: What are they good at, what do they hate, what do they need (and so on) so that others know what they can offer you.
What are your character's plans?: Either what they're doing as we speak or what you'd like to do with them!
Does your character have a secret identity?: Since this can get confusing at times. Is your character a superhero with a public identity or do just a few people know who they are? List them, even!
Is your character open for pairings?: Useful to know! Possibly.
Are you open to having your character get hurt? Or, for villains, hurt others?: If yes, how much and in what circumstances?
Is your character interested in teams?: Registered hero teams are very well-received around these parts, as you might guess. If yes, coordinate with possible teammates and see if you can put something together!
What kind of plots are you after?: Let the brainstorming commence. This can be as vague, specific, or "big picture" as you'd like.
Anything else?: If you have anything else to add!

i'm down >)

there's a fairly clear throughline even when she doesn't intend there to be, half because of the level of shit that's so normal to her she doesn't realise it's weird for other people to hear about. less direct abuse and more the object lesson of what happens being brought up by people not equipped to be responsible for a child even when they were sober and mostly skilled at making the wrong decision every time, for all the best reasons.

Ugh yes. That level of violence was normalized for Crane a long time ago. People who get it get it. His mother wasn't equipped to be responsible, though she didn't have a choice in it, though Gwen if I'm reading it right has a difference - in that she knows her actual parents? I've tried hunting that down in her info but the link on tumblr goes to a 404.

Oops - her app is here. And yeah; she was raises by her mother and stepfather til she was around six; her father got custody and proved in the doing that loving your kids is different to providing a stable home for them! Her experiences were a lot to do with his instability, his substance abuse/self medication, the mishandling of that by people who should have done better - child put in the position of feeling responsible for the adult, exposed to things she shouldn't have been, calculating her own safety because she couldn't rely on anyone else. Hard to confront the reality when it's also a loving environment with a lot of privilege; "can't have been that bad" etc.
