The Mistletoe Meme

It was a quiet moment in Heropa, FL, when the next devious plot of an unknown organization was realized. With the holiday season upon all the town, bundles of mistletoe with interference technology hidden in the festive bows and pins holding them together was distributed throughout the town and into all the residences of the imPorts.

The interference technology creates a stasis field keeping imPorts trapped underneath it, protecting the mistletoe itself with a small barrier. However, it only seems able to hold two people at a time, and and the reaction of the nanites to sudden changes in chemistry brought on by embracing or kissing brings the stasis field crashing down, leaving the mistletoe vulnerable to destruction at that time.

It's up to you, imPorts, to break free of these mistletoe traps and destroy all the mistletoe in Heropa!

[ This is almost funny if it isn't also, you know, embarrassing all around. Annie's eyes briefly leave his face to look over his shoulder at the people watching. She closes her eyes, breathing in, giving his shoulder a squeeze. She's not the kind of actor who can drum up a smile to make it seem like she's reassuring - hell, from the outside, this probably looks like embarrassment and fear coming from Kaneki directed toward Annie.

Which is hilarious, in various ways, but as someone who's bitten a man in half, currently incidentally backing a cannibal into an invisible curving wall, she's probably the more imposing of the two. Especially when she's only feeling a blush start on the back of her neck because of how stupid this is, how by now she's all too often the aggressor, and how that actually bothers her on a level where this isn't what she'd be actively pursuing.

On the upside, she doesn't have to ask Ken to lean down. Five inches isn't anything when it comes to stepping closer, leaning in close, and saying: ]

Ken. Be gentle.

[ because if he FREAKS OUT HE'S KIND OF SUPER EVERYTHING compared to Annie's just, you know. Super. Able to heal.

She also takes her other hand and moves it to the back of his neck (cradling his head) to keep him in place so this doesn't get spontaneously more awkward. She's not going to sit here debating for all that long - not where they are right now - and so without much further ado, she tilts her head to the side and kisses him hard.

... Mostly............ unsure what the hell he feels SORRY BUT ONLY TRAINING WITH HIM GIVES HER WEIRD VIEWS ON HIS SENSITIVITY LEVELS??? ]

Kaneki opens his mouth to speak but then Annie is coming closer to him and he feels like his heart stopped right there and then, and he forgets he needs to breathe. And it's with his mouth open that he suddenly feels Annie's lips on his and he nearly chokes before he actually breathes into the kiss while he feels his life leaving his body.

That's also his first kiss, by the way, and for a moment he has no idea if this is really happening.

And actually, he does feel it hard. Lips are sensitive areas for ghouls; their weak spots. And Kaneki doesn't even register how his lip feels sore with the force because suddenly Annie is so close and he can see her face right next to his, her eyes, her eyelashes -oh wow, okay so close, they are actually pretty, what are you thinking about, Kaneki Ken - and he can feel her breath and her scent. Kaneki can't really smell the way a ghoul does, or at least it's not something he does naturally; but with Annie so close, he can feel it: she smells good. And he shouldn't be thinking of that, but he is, she smells so good.

With a tiny gasp, Kaneki finally gains some courage to actually kiss back, leaning forward against her and make this a proper kiss. A one-sided kiss would probably not work, or at least Kaneki imagines it's for the best if he does something as well. A proper kiss; in which he moves his hands and gently rests them on Annie's shoulders, while he tilts his head to the side so his nose would be out of the way as his lips attempt to steal Annie's ~~like in books, sure. Don't mind him, it's his first kiss after all~~ ]

[ What else is she supposed to say? Annie ends up closing her eyes after a moment, and when he kisses back, she scales down the pressure - largely because she uses his response as a guideline for what she should be giving in turn. Besides, she's a physical person, and she can read through physical tells. Most her relationship with Kaneki is kinetic enough that it's easy to fall into a give-take response.

Granted, her experience with kissing by now is probably "Yang earlier today" because why not invent a meme timeline of events? It's a matter of figuring things out on the spot, which she's not bad with, though what... one does... with this other than go on whim she's not sure.

Ken's not even reacting like she had with Yang, per say, so it slides into new territory, and while she has no clue what stealing someone's lips is about, and would have read nothing like it in the literature she favors, her own lips had to be parted to avoid kissing in his mouth. So they kind of bypassed chaste right away, which isn't so bad. All it is in a lot of ways is an exchange of fluids, and she swallows in reflex, but she's not ignorant of her appreciation of the feeling, or that (for completely unrelated reasons) he doesn't smell bad, even if she can't really appreciate coffee in the way that a fan might, or, you know, finds blood as anything other than the tang that accompanies most her disreputable actions.

There's a mental note in the back of her head that says coffee breath isn't great but it's about ten hundred times better than kissing him after he's eaten so she'll take what she can without complaints, fingers curling in his hair, pressing close and shifting so that as the barrier falls she's not pressing him back against what isn't still there.

Yeah.

Uh.

[ Kaneki sighs as he feels Annie's fingers touching his hair and he seems to have forgotten - even if momentarily - how embarrassing this whole thing is, that everyone is watching and what is even happening why is this happening oh god.

nevermind any of it. Or that they can probably move by now, nevermind that either. Sorry, Annie, but he is a young man getting his first kiss, he instinctively wants it to last a bit longer.

Because it feels good. Not just Annie's smell - which only gets better at each gulf of air he takes in - but his lips and her lips are warm, they feel so soft and nice and everything happening right now is almost too surreal for him to think. And though the tongue takes no part in this - yet - as the kiss continues it's not just the scent that gets to him. He feels a strange itch, a strange need, like a weird feeling at his lower back, and instinctively Kaneki's hand moves to Annie's head, to feel the nape of her neck while he comes closer and closer.

The kiss doesn't exactly break, but Kaneki pulls his lips away only to capture Annie's lower lip. That's when the tongue comes into play because the next thing he's doing is tasting her lip with it; which he probably shouldn't have done because that itch grows stronger, his hands grow greedy by trying to bring her closer, and his eye is shamelessly reacting to such a simple thing like a kiss (thank you, eyepatch, for keeping that covered) ]

[ It's surreal to Annie, too, simply by being unexpected - her eyes fly open again when he's tasting her lip, breathing in sharply because that wasn't expected, let alone from Ken, cringing away and beet red a few seconds ago. Not that people don't overcome these things, but Annie remains acutely aware of where they are, what's going on, and while there's a very physical part of her that enjoys the sensation, she's not someone who gives in to that all that often.

Though she doubts Ken is either.

This doesn't feel finished, but. But! Her mind still argues - It's the wrong time, wrong place, this unexpected warmth in her stomach (or is it, no, not so much) that sends a shiver down her spine (danger, danger Will Robinson) as she slides up against him enough to generate mild friction between them, ultimately reclaiming her lower lip and moving her head so she's pressing a kiss to the corner of his mouth, then his jaw, then closer to his ear - ]

The mistletoe -

[ Because the mission almost always comes first and she can remind him of that, too, before she steps back and away, letting the impression to others stand that this blushing (not feigned) girl (by this world's standards) is embarrassed by a mutual display of public affection (prompted or otherwise) in a tiny coffee shop in Heropa. There's nothing reproachful on her face right then, eyes a little wide, cheeks flushed, head tilting back enough to indicate up as her hand comes up to her mouth, pressing against her lips.

What. What? They're all living in a winter whaterland. ]

[ kaneki is somewhat lost in between "smells good", "feels good" and "tastes good" to answer. Because there is this terrible thing in him which tells him this is not just about physical gratification; that tiny itch on his lower back also tells him "you know what would be great? if you could sink your teeth on those soft and tasty lips". While there is no risk of that happening, there is that itch and it's mingling with the whole "holy damn kissing is amazing" and "wow I'm kissing a girl who isn't interested in eating me alive" and "there is a chance the universe doesn't hate me that much because this feels incredibly good" and "i'm kissing Annie oh my god" maybe that's why kaneki is experiencing this on a whole new level.

The friction is probably what snaps him out of it, and he is breathing loud, face still red, looking like a mess of a person. her whisper reminds him why they are doing this and his face - which is already impossibly red - looks like he is way too surprised about all of this.

What the- Holy- How- Oh my- -just

Kaneki's usual embarrassed and nervous self returns just as fast as he sees Annie's expression, and he quickly looks up to see the mistletoe. Oh yes, yes YES he needs to destroy that of course well he will sure it's not a problem of course not that's why they kissed in first place this is so silly oh no what was that ahah this was s-

yeah, he will just jump again and destroy it. And this time, he is able to, at least. When he touches the floor again, though, he looks down for a couple of seconds, unsure what to say or do - but so carefully, he glances back at Annie.

He feels like he is about to implode and finally red veins appear around his eye. Yeah, he can't control himself at all, Kaneki is the best ghoul. ]

[ Ken, for the love of...! She can forcibly regain her calm, though it's not easy, and not instant, but it's more that glimpse she has of him as he looks back to her has her stepping toward him, reaching out and taking hold of his wrist to pull him after her as she retreats back out through the door. It's not that Annie is the sort of person to run off with people, pulling them along - it's the situation that makes her do so, still flushed, knowing if he really wanted to resist it's easy enough - there's no contesting the imbalance of physical strength here - but counting on him being out of it enough or trusting her enough to go with her as she pulls him along. There's no set destination, just someplace close, and out of the direct public eye. A narrow alleyway between the buildings is good enough, little more than an avenue for employees to use from the back of one restaurant to the parking lot and the dumpsters at the far end, blocked in my another building with its steel door close and unlabeled.

Everything's colder outside, the air a crisp contrast to the heat of her skin, and Annie breathes it in, appreciates the sharpness of it - and pulls Ken around, down that narrow alley with her, intending to pin him back against the wall if she can. She could make her own invisible barriers if needed, but she's not wasting that energy until she must, part of her always calculating and weighing the options. If she can get him backed against the wall, she nudge one knee between his legs, press forward to press him back with her core, one hand up and curled around his neck, keeping his head from smacking backward.

Annie knows she's pressing personal space boundaries, is doing so on purpose for anyone watching those embarrassed teenagers, will play off the expectation of hormones and the young and everything about this holiday season (aspects aren't that far off). She's a hair's breadth away from kissing him again, eyes clear and focused and looking into his one visible eye as she asks: ]

Ken, are you in control?

[ Holding him to a wall, invading his personal space, staring him down, and idly running her tongue over her lower lip at the immediate memory, both worried and confident she can handle what she needs to handle.

She doesn't talk about her mental shields all that often, or how she can make them physical. She's not worried about being attacked - ignores the hectic beating of her heart and the fluttering sensation that's so out of place in her stomach - and waits for his answer.

This is a problem. The mistletoe is all over town. ImPorts are the only ones getting caught, and he has to be okay enough in handling all of it, when it's this pervasive.

Are you in control when for all the world it looks like she's about to kiss him again, head at just the right angle for it, blue eyes locked on his own red-veined one and the patch that hides his other eye from sight. ]

[ He knows she told him not to jump again, but he had to, even if it was just to break his focus on Annie's taste and try to regain some sanity in his clouded - and currently hormones (...and a very tiny itch of hunger) filled - brain. When Annie grabs his wrist, Kaneki's eyes widen out of surprise, half-expecting some scolding, half expecting her to tell him to calm the hell down. Instead, she tugs him along and Kaneki isn't capable of arguing at all.

He is pretty much dragged - even if he is stronger than her, he doesn't fight it at all. Often Kaneki forgets he can actually be the one dragging instead of the other way around, but in this particular case, it's not as if he'd do so - and once they enter the alley, all the can do is look around, confused.

Ken doesn't know what is happening or why, but he trusts Annie and just tags along with no complain - but with few whispers of "Where are we going?" and "Is something wrong?"

And of course he also doesn't fight her when she pins him against the wall, but he pretty much freezes when he feels her all over him. Eyes wide - one still covered and still reacting, and the other set on the girl in front of him - Kaneki's face keeps it's blush in all its glory, skin burning and not calming down at all even if it's a bit cold outside. Kaneki's breathing quickens once again and as she comes closer, he lets go of a tiny sound that sounds very much like a shy Mickey Mouse.

He doesn't understand the question at first, focusing on Annie's lips instead, remembering the taste, how soft they are and- it hits him. The question finally clicks and his really dazed (and utterly embarrassed) expression is very soon replaced with a horrified one. hand quickly reaches for the covered eye, trying to hide the red veins and trying not to be seen, and of course, he tries to pull away from Annie that second even if he is pressing against the wall and that's impossible ]

I'm sorry! I'm sorry, this isn't...! I don't-

[ crap, crap, crap!!

He has to stop it! he has to calm down, he has to take a deep breath, his heart has to stop beating so loud, his breathing has to stabilize, and his body has to stop tingling all over! ]

[ and he does need to do all those things, trying to escape backward where there's nowhere to go, Annie knowing this is him recapturing something of that perpetual fear that stalks him. He's of dual natures that frighten and consume each other in turns, and he craves something he can never really have.

he thinks stop, and Annie thinks control. stopping is a skill too, but not a way of handling what's going on, and that, today, is a danger. he holds his hand over one eye, so once she listens to his apologies, she leans in and kisses the corner of his mouth opposite his covered eye. ]

You can.

[ get that control, find a means of keeping himself from ruining himself, even if it won't work out in the (long? short?) immediate term. she curls her fingers in his hair as a reminder of where her hand is, and presses a kiss to his cheek, dealing with how it isn't the most comfortable to be staring directly at someone when you're so close. ]

You're okay. [ none of them ever are, not really, but it's about not being out of control. that kind of okay. nothing more. ] You're here, and this is okay. You can use that strength of yours... [ the hand not at the back of his head moves, shifts to press against his breastbone, a heart for a heart but the strength is in his mind, not this particular organ, not the one she doesn't know about sitting at the base of his spine ] ... to keep in control.

[ i'm sorry, i'm sorry doesn't change anything. doesn't make the world easy or fair or make even the ridiculous make sense, and there's so much about this that's ridiculous, from the problem at hand to the root cause a few minutes before to the logic that drives home to Annie that you don't let someone foster the delusion that everything is okay as long as they ignore it. not for things that are dangerous, powers or appetites that aren't strictly easy to handle.

she's tried to drive this point home for others before. kept the physical contact... used choke holds or straddled chests to drive home the point that paying attention, learning how to move or think your way through a fight, even an internal one, helps. and while Ken is a very s h y man, and he runs, from what she can see, runs like she does, or did, or will again, not everything is won by the retreat. ]

Kiss me.

[ she asks - it isn't a demand. nothing in her tone demands compliance. there's a request, and her lips brushing his jaw, and then the addition spoken by his ear: ]

Please.

[ she can be polite even when she's being a bitch, and rest assured, she knows that's what she's being right now, with a purpose or not. maybe she does feel things were unfinished earlier, maybe she did want away from the crowd. maybe it's a different fear and desire to instruct without instructing altogether, helping in an obscure way with that control she's been so adamant about, especially since knowing. ]

[ and it's not as if Kaneki was losing control, but rather, his eye - the kakugan - just reacts on its own about pretty much everything that stimulates his taste-buds even if only slightly. Because Kaneki can't repress it, if it's that taste (the human taste), it'll react depending on how strong Kaneki gets involved in that taste. A kiss like that? There is definitively involvement.

But there is always the worry "she will think I want to eat her" and he can't really explain it to Annie that he doesn't when his eye reacts to the taste of a human. Not to mention, while he isn't hungry, he just felt that itch and his lower back reminded him he might want to have a better look at the taste (even if it was a half of second feeling that he barely registered since he was busy kissing Annie) so - no, Kaneki really can't argue that he is in full control.

And he really wants his eye to return to normal too, because the kakugan is just creepy - the eye patch covers most of it, but it's there. And he doesn't want Annie to see the rest.

The half-ghoul mutters another apology and thinks of telling her "No, I didn't think about eating you, that's not it" but Annie's hand is still on his hair and she is still close and there is a kiss here and there and he is getting so confused as to why there are kisses still happening when he is in this state - he expected her to pull away, he really did. Kaneki takes a deep breath when he feels her hand over his chest, his heart beating madly and he takes few quick but deep breaths, before the red veins around his eye finally disappear. In truth, the eye is still black and red, but Annie can't see it, so it's fine. ]

I'm... it's fine, I don't- [ want to eat her or anyone, he isn't hungry.

And then she asks him to kiss her and kaneki's heartbeat just goes off madly once again.

Wait, what? Kiss her? After that? Really?!

All over again his face gains a red color, self-conscious about the fact that it's Annie and a girl and she is so cute and this never crossed his mind up until now how did he never notice she was so cute and pretty and she is asking him to kiss her. The human part still takes over the ghoul (even if the ghoul is present) and the human part is still a teenager (even if already going into "young adult").

But he doesn't complain or flail around or look around in panic. Instead, his lips press into a thin line as he looks at Annie and he musters up courage he never seems to have and leans in. He kisses Annie again, tilting his head to the side to their lips could lock and their noses wouldn't be in the way, and Kaneki's eyes close with that while he brings a hand to her cheek and the other to her waist.

A proper kiss. Not one where he feels like he looks like he is going to explode - though he feels like it still - and where he is finally the one kissing her and not the other way around. Taking initiative. ]

[ control isn't about eating people (not all about eating people) but being in control of how he responds to a given situation. which includes more how he was after they'd kissed in the store than how he'd been before - who cares, what embarrasses you embarrasses you, that's fine.

still, he's calming down (sort of) which is what she'd been asking for, not panicking or apologizing for the things that for once might make more sense.

there's no real properly in her mind when it comes to kissing - she had not bothered thinking about it as it could have applied to herself, trust her, she was well aware of where she was headed in the long run - so kissing is kissing is kissing in degrees. new, not sought out (though now it's been asked for), not on her complicated list of to accomplish if i'm going to be living here for any length of time. it's just good he's as aware of noses as she is, since hers, particularly, is not a minor thing to angle past. he kisses her, and she kisses back. not hard, like earlier, but responsive, switching gears into following a lead rather than taking one.

this is more what she meant by being in control. take the first step, don't feel cornered and running, even when you're both those things. Annie relaxes her pressure against him, enough to the point that she switches from pinning him to leaning, using her leg between his as a balance point against the wall at his back. her hand on his chest slides up to his shoulder. it's easier to read movement there once her eyes are closed to, focusing on contact points in the interim, fingers playing lightly with his hair as she adjusts her grip to be less demanding, more anchoring. she's not keeping him trapped is the greater point here. ]

[ any other time he will question himself why he is doing it. Why is he kissing her when there isn't anything above their heads (let's be honest, this sort of thing? Last thing on Kaneki's worried mind) . Not now, right now he is thinking about kissing, how to do it and how ti feels.

It's strange but really pleasant, the way they are so close and their mouths are together and the way Kaneki can feel Annie's warmth and breathing, and the way their noses bump when he tries to tilt his head in an opposite direction. His lips part, welcome hers to do the same and he leans further.

Can he try with tongue? Maybe. Sort of. He doesn't want to screw it up and he doesn't want to drool too much. How do they even do this, for real?

Softly, maybe.

And softly the tongue moved to tentatively find out what it should do. Like at her lips. Touch her teeth. Maybe go further.

How does one french kiss anyway? Can he even french kiss her? is that really okay? c'mon, Kaneki, you can do this, it's your second kiss, you can do this, it's not hard, it's fine. Maybe he is going too fast, but he really would like to try that, specially given how good Annie tastes.

Surely.

and why his mind is in a turmoil thinking about what he can do and can't, what he should do or shouldn't, the hand resting at Annie's waist moves behind her back to rest at her lower back - not too low - and brings her closer to him; the other has found its way around her shoulders and attempts an embrace, while Kaneki allows his body to press back against the wall for better support. ]

[ ~~the magic of memes means no one thinks too hard on this~~

despite the fact her surname is very French (and that many of the names involved in those back home touch on French, German, or other Nordic origins, and a smattering of English, with a touch of Japan to round it all out ~~despite the Japanese Clan being persecuted to extinction in like, two generations or so~~, French kissing would have been a new term. Deep kissing, such as it is, is a difference in exploration. He parts his lips, and it makes more sense to follow suit, feeling his tongue on her lower lip, then against her teeth. That's what prompts her to open up enough to allow his tongue in, past her teeth - but it's how she can close that gap again, careful, capturing his tongue for long enough to circle the tip of his with hers. It's a another kind of exploration, and she frees his tongue a moment after, sort of.

There's that awkward drool factor that she sort of... swallows through, but a consequence to that is how to and it ends up sucking on his tongue in the process, her own moving underneath his as she swallows.

... Mouths have moving parts, they do things, this is not part of her calculations??? She's still using her knee as a sort of grounding point, but when he moves her closer, she goes along with it. Congratulations, Ken, you get Annie pressed up against you, mostly wondering if (really) this ever happens again (for some reason) she can convince him to rinse his mouth out first with water (unless she starts developing some unforeseen appreciation of coffee).

By now, her fingers are very much weaving into his hair. ]

[ ~~the world of no questions asked~~

Maybe he shouldn't have done that. or maybe he should. Who knows. But the moment his tongue feels hers, it's like heaven inside his mouth. People may say this lightly, but for a ghoul, this is very close to it because of that specific (and really messed up) diet of them. So when he feels Annie's taste, better than ever - better than just a lick of lips - Kaneki feels a shiver and all of sudden he just wants more. He wanted more before, but the feeling doubles right there and then, and the tip of his fingers press against Annie's back a bit harder while he feels a shiver rushing through his back and ending right at the lower part of right - right at his Kakuhou and had he been hungry, his Kagune would have definitively come out on its own.

Good thing he is not hungry, good thing he is just focusing on how goddamn good this whole thing feels, rather than how his stomach might ask for a bite.

He gasps as she suckles on her tongue, but before Annie has any chance of doing at that for too long or even daring to part from Kaneki's lips, he leans in again and devours her mouth (not literally, of course) . His tongue thrusts inside Annie's mouth, demanding more of that flavor, of that feeling - he could not kiss her hard enough, it seems it would never be enough anyway.

The hand wrapped around her shoulders moves to rest at the nape of her neck, digging through the blond hair and discovering he would rather if she didn't have it tied up. it'd be easier. Easier to do what, he has no idea.

And his eye? Yes, it reacting again. The red veins are there once more and oh boy he doesn't even know, he doesn't even care right now. ]

those moments when someone realizes they had no plan and now they have even less of a plan and they had not imagined, literally ever, being kissed anything like this (or at all, in all honesty) she's a little stunned.

good work, kaneki. it's a good thing they're not talking, since she'd have nothing to say, concentrating instead on responding to that consuming kind of kiss. is she supposed to challenge his tongue with her own? who knows, she does anyway, using her teeth, too, as if this is some kind of challenge or dare - just try taking what you want.

she uses her leg to hook around the back of his and pull it forward, straddling him for balance. it's not like she sees the veins around his eye right now, not until her eyes slide open in initial surprise, because hell, none of this is what she's expecting, and even at that point it's noted and something she seems to mentally shrug off... bringing the hand not buried in his hair to the side of his face, nudging it upward.

something's different. even as she swallows and shifts against him, looking for some kind of friction without thinking about it, there's a quiet curiosity she doesn't choose to ignore.

it's fine. it's okay. just stay in control.

she's not sure what control she's staying in at the moment, other than the one always aware of the chance for something to go wrong, some kind of attack or miscalculation, or - she doesn't know. this feels good (not as good as it does for him, but there are reasons on reasons on reasons for that) and her heart's beating fast and she's riding the end of that adrenaline from earlier and hormones

hormones are evil

and she's divorcing them as soon as she gets home ]

[ Ken does too suffer from a bad case of hormones, but he also suffers from a case of ghoulness. That never helps. The taste is intoxicating, even if he has no idea of eating Annie and doesn't really feel any hunger.

At best, he feels like he could pull out his kagune and actually control it properly -- he won't do it, of course not. But while the kagune does seem to have a mind of its own, Kaneki isn't always completely useless with it. In this specific case, if he did want to, he'd be able to bring it out and control the three limbs easier than he'd think. But let's not mention the kagune, even if the itch at Kaneki's lower back is there, letting him know he could do it if he wanted to (he doesn't want to).

Honestly, he feels damn lucky right now. As if the universe doesn't hate him that much. The kiss is amazing, the person he is kissing is also - and she is really cute, he honestly only concluded that now. He doesn't mind the hand on his face (it's questionable if he notices it) and honestly all he's worried about is to capture Annie's tongue between his lips when she pushes hers inside his mouth, and suckle on it with a strange delight only a ghoul would probably get.

Good thing his mouth is busy, or he'd have moaned a small "tastes good". Which would not be wise when Annie knows about Kaneki's special... needs. ]

[ hearing explicitly that even your spit tastes good to someone who survives by eating humans is in fact something she doesn't need to know right now. particularly as that puts a whole new fun and whacky spin on how ghouls could hunt, if they wanted, and she doesn't need that, either. not at this particular moment.

and it's not like she actually trusts so much to think that circumstances can't arise where he'd be driven to eat her, either, so...here's Annie, making out in an alleyway with Ken Kaneki (the horror... the horror).

She pushes his eyepatch back out of the way, toward his hair, raking her fingers along that same path as he suckles on her tongue. The logical, rational part of her knows they can't keep this up, for a litany of reasons she doesn't need to list for herself. Her point stands, he's fine, he can handle whatever else happens today, as long as he doesn't worry (oh but he always worries) about something like whatever the hell his eye's gone and done.

She's oblivious to thoughts about cute or not cute. Physicality is what it is - what draws her to people is more who they are, so if she's entirely honest, Ken both is and isn't attractive to her, and it'd be hard for her to explain - because the same reasons lend toward both, and she won't find those words to say what it is in particular. Annie's fully present and engaged right now, feels the heat of her body and his, has finally decided who cares about the coffee (it took a while). All these things as she opens her eyes and pulls her head back enough to try and capture his lip with her teeth, tracing his lip with her tongue and looking straight at his face.

They really should stop this... in a minute or so. ]

[ as the eye patch is pulled away, it takes him a second to realize it. his eyes were closed after all, and he was thoroughly enjoying Annie's tongue as he sucked on it. Head tilting to the side, again he takes her mouth and again he forces his tongue inside to fight against Annie's tongue and feel as much of her taste as he can.

But when she pulls back to nip at his lip, Kaneki too opens his eyes and the black one, with red veins running from his cheek right onto the red iris, reacting to all of this more than he actually expected, it's when he realizes that the eyepatch is off and the reason why is because Annie saw it reacting again.

He sighs shakily, and he stops the kiss, finally pulling back. Probably sooner than a minute., but his brain functions returning to him, even if he isn't all jerky and scared and jumpy that she is looking at the ghoul eye. ]

It's reacting... [ it's not a question, he knows it is. After few deep breathes, Kaneki is still trying to regain control all over his body, even if his heart is beating so loud and he feels warm all over ] It's... it does it on its own, it doesn't mean... [ that he wants to eat her. It means she taste damn good, though. ] Sorry--I'm sorry. [ of course he has to apologize. ]

[ He pulls back, and Annie follows suit, though she's still watching his eye. It's not like he's explaining it well, but it doesn't take as much to piece things together. The hand at the back of his head untangles itself, presses against the wall so she can push herself back with it - the hand on the side of his head still holding his eyepatch. She licks her lips as she breathes in more deeply than she had been, recentering herself, gaining just a little distance. She's not so bothered by closeness under terms she understands or has under relative control.

It's reacting. Ah.

How striking. Interesting that only one eye reacts... I wonder what could cause that imbalance. [ Said to herself, all an aside - her tone changes, turns into something more casually conversational when she starts addressing Ken for the sake of talking to him. She still feels overwarm herself, but she can at least unhook her leg from around his, shifting her weight so he's not taking it all like their position has promoted up until now. ]

Though as a general idea, I don't advise - [ said with more calm and apparent unaffectedness than she should have, except she does, even if she feels a little raw right now ] - eating a Titan shifter. I mean-! It's just-!! I can't really control it because-!! I'm- I'm not very good at this and I am not-! [ his (not)explanation dies in his lips as he hears the comment about eating a titan shifter. Oh god Annie, that joke was terrible and this is Kaneki so he quickly adds: ] It's not because I'm hungry!

[ it's because he is excited. yes. Actually, that sounds worse, he doesn't want to say that but oh god, he is just red all over, up to his ears.

But quickly nods, looking down ] I can- [ he is looking down and all he can see is Annie's chest

KANEKI.

KANEKI. YOU STOP THAT, YOUNG MAN.

So yes, he looks up again and to the side because where is he supposed to look?! ] I-I- will just... head home...

[ hey, he was feeling her chest a whole lot better than he was looking at it just a moment ago. Annie's so fond of hoodies and the rest that she's rather obscured - she likes it that way - but his explanation makes sense. So does the excited, but there's nothing in that she finds to refute. It's a natural response.

She can't say she's not a little "excited" too, but she's very, very good at repression. Annie shoves off the wall with her knee and hand at the same time, taking a step back, then another, tugging her hoodie down and smoothing out the front. Little tidy actions, and... she has his eyepatch in hand.

... Annie examines it in her palm. It solves the mystery of why the one eye. He's guarding against being taken off guard and exposing what he is without getting a choice in the matter. She can respect that. ]

Here. The excitement will fade. It's not a big problem.

[ Hormones ebb and flow, and all the rest, so she talks about it matter of fact, again licking her lips. Today has not gone as planned. ]

actually, kaneki gasps when she moves a way; it's almost a sad-like sound and he regrets that they stopped, though he doesn't feel like he can voice it. And when Annie hands back the eyepatch, Kaneki reluctantly takes it,but only after his finger brush against her skin.

He really is regretting that they stopped. ]

... Heropa... it's not far. [ kaneki licks his lower lip, watching the eyepatch for moment until he finally speaks what he wants, a tiny shy voice, hard to hear if one isn't paying attention ]

And maybe for the first time ever since he was turned into a ghoul, Kaneki is reminded he is actually a healthy young man who would normally welcome this into his life. ~~Thank you, Rize, for screwing that up~~ ]

[ Wow. Wow. Those are some pretty obvious second intentions, Ken. Annie pauses, brushing her bangs back off her face as she looks out toward the street. In what may seem like a non sequitur... ]
