Crane was threading with Bruce on an IC meme, and one of the things that came up is that Crane injects chaos into his experiments to throw up new ideas and variables. Harley's striking him as somebody who's uncontrolled in her chaos, and that makes her uncontrollable and unpredictable, and somebody he wants to avoid.

However, she appreciates his work. He doesn't care about approval and disapproval, but he enjoys an audience - and we see him hamming it up in the third film, where he's clearly enjoying himself. In her company he can let his hair down [in his own way] and be the Scarecrow without needing his mask. Because that's who he is, under his skin. It's happening at the minute without her, but she certainly hastens the process.

PS. You're not his friend, Harley.

Mabel is weird and funny and really likes pigs and fashion and she's always enthusiastic which is nice! It kind of reminds Tachikoma of being around other tachikoma, although they can't enter people's heads with kitten fists?? (although they did used to have some fun shenanigans in digital space that could be comparable).

This might rub Crane's ego in just the right way but in one word: terrifying. Crane terrifies Ken, not because Crane himself could or would do anything to him, but because of the role he played in Ken's decision-making. That is, he pulled out all the thoughts and self-doubts that were swirling around in Ken's head and put them into words, giving them a shape and form that they didn't have before -- like Shadows. Crane doesn't appear in any of Ken's dreams because dreams aren't as frightening as reality but because so, Ken remembers his words in the appropriate moments and he should be proud of himself to know that he's doing a stellar job of eating away at Ken's confidence even as he's starting to heal. He's like a cavity. He eats at healthy enamel and you can't undo it; you can try to prevent it from spreading, but if you let your guard down it'll act up again. The only way to get rid of it is to carve it out and put in a filling, but the left over tooth will never be whole again and will always be more brittle than it used to be.

yum, gummy bears, also Hiro really helped Tachikoma with those repairs which was really nice and she is kind of sorry she brought Callaghan now, since it seemed to upset everyone?? It seemed like a good idea at the time, although she maintains that it looked good on paper. Anyway she's very grateful and she's interested to find out what Hiro did with that one part he kept!

I think it'll play out nicely if their next therapy session is Robert handing over his drawing? Robert confessed in the previous session, and Crane sent him away with some homework to draw his mask in his own time - no rush, no pressure.

It'll excellent timing, imo, to set up Crane handing the mask over in early-to-mid July - he'll know they won't meet again because he's going to gas that swear-in wearing his own mask, and that society will turn on his ass. So it's like a villain's version of farewell.

Something horribly bittersweet.

PS. I'm totally up for the hypnosis thing if you guys want to do it. Crane's a moral shitbird as well so it's right up his alley.

She really really really wants to go to NYC with Ramír and prove to her that she's A Cool Person (spoilers she's not). She isn't even sure how much she likes Ramír (she doesn't dislike her, but she doesn't have a strong opinion in the other direction either), but she thinks she's cool and kind of intimidating and is a little offended at being called unimpressive. Next time she talks to her she is absolutely going to brag about all the dumb shit she got up to while affected by the Famine plague.
