they're both high-speed sweepers, too! though gardevoir is special and if kanaya were a pokemon she'd be physical (and probably fighting-type instead of psychic), but gardevoir is no less perfect for it

it's mostly all dumb gameplay mechanics stuff, like there are two types of attacks, physical and special, and they affect which stats are used, atk/def or sp.atk/sp.def. some tend towards one or the other, some are more balanced, some might mix it around like having good atk and better sp.def.

a sweeper is the tactic i tend towards the most because i'm super-basic and would never last in competitive play, it's basically a pokemon strong enough to knock out most opponents in one or two moves. a lot of them have lousy defense so if you don't get your turn first or it takes longer than that to defeat them, you're probably in trouble, so you want them to have good speed too.

Ooooooh, yes, that makes sense now. I would probably go with sweeper tactics too, that's usually my strategy in these types of games.

hey, if it works against the ai then it works

it just gets trickier against actual human opponents

yeah I have not historically fared well against those, usually I'm playing Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or Doctor Who Legacy or something
