Vilkommen, Herren und Damen, to the...

~TL;DR MEME~

Fucking magnets, how does this work?
Step 1: Post a list of your characters.
Step 2: Sit and twirl your moustaches until other people post their characters, then go and ask them questions about their folks. It can be anything, from "So how deep DO Tony Stark's daddy issues run?" (Answer: "they swim amongst giant squid and anglerfish and the trench the kaiju came out of") to "Tell me your least favorite thing about the DC canon" (Answer: "Holy shit are there some cockmongling dingleberries running that company").
Step 3: Other people will ask YOU questions. You go and answer those questions, and be polite - ask THEM a question in return after you're done answering it! (So, it's not just "Nick Burkhardt decided to become a cop when he heard about police brutality and wanted to get in on that" but also you follow up with "What magnificent auroch did Loki hunt to get those beautiful horns?") Then when THEY answer their question, they'll ask YOU a question! ("They came from being cuckolded in Shakespearean times. What are Nick Burkhardt's favorite sunglasses?") And the you ask THEM A QUESTION AGAIN! And they ask YOU! And you ask THEM!! And they ask YOU!!!! So that it's a great big patty-cake of QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS!!!
Step 4: Repeat ad infinitum until we break the motherfucking internet

I'm curious about how you read your characters + issues of sexuality. Either related to the actual act of sex or otherwise.

wELL WITH LEVI [nervous hyena laughter]

For a canon that has a ship for as many days of the year AoT is pretty sexless and a character like Levi is hard to place given his inability to connect with people easily and other foibles in his personality that would make even a very casual sexual encounter unlikely for him. Levi wouldn't be the instigator but that doesn't render any relationship impossible just not at the forefront of his mind. Sex is moot point. Without getting into the dirty details he probably has some hang ups about sex itself because it puts him in a vulnerable position both physically and emotionally and not something he'd use to escape to.

Miranda is a whole different story; she sees sex as a means to an end and her sexuality as one of the few things wholly her own. When she isn't in a relationship her approach to sex is very clinical and detached where it can be a bargaining chip or just part of a larger plan. In a relationship sex just feels all par for the course and while assertive she throws herself quickly into sexual encounters as a distraction and one way to enjoy herself. Sex is sex and Miranda doesn't have any skeletons in her closet there (except maybe that one time she went through a parade of prospective baby daddies in a fit of pique)

SAME QUESTION. YOUR CHARACTERS.

Kate in general enjoys sex, and she's one of those extremely athletic people who's energized by being physically active, so sex is something that falls into that. She has hang ups about commitment and is definitely someone who is into controlling the act, and a lot of things are on her own terms, but that doesn't keep her from doing it. She has shifted most of her sexual issues into control issues, so her ability to be at ease with all of it is one way of taking control of a situation. She is canonically shown to be into sex and fairly active about sex when she's having it regularly, so!

For Lightning, there is zero chance that she has ever had sex. I'm personally not someone who's keen on virgin headcanons unless there's a strong reason for it, but with Lightning, it is pretty much a given. She forced herself to grow up very quickly to take care of her sister, and that desire was pretty single-minded for her. You could probably make a strong case for her being disinterested/asexual, but given her interactions with Fang/responsiveness to Fang, I choose to believe she's mostly just very repressed and hasn't gotten around to it. She will always have a low sex drive either way, always being more focused on a GOAL!!! or something more important than something like that, but she would enjoy intimacy with her partner, but would definitely need a woman experienced enough, but understanding enough to help her. She'd be uncomfortable with it at first, but only out of lack of experience.

Kaine kind of stumbles into sex and it's just a thing that happens with him. He's not someone who seeks it out, it kind of just happens, but he is a pretty hormonal guy who enjoys it and likes having it and thinks about it. I see him as someone who probably goes through spurts, so to speak, of having a high sex drive, and some moments where he has a low one (typically during his high points on the chart of "how much do you feel like a monster today?"). He's someone who'd be very passionate and very sexual in a relationship, though, and sex would be a means of fixing arguments.

Jean is someone who is what people think of when they think of "hormonal teenage boy" ... with a couple of additional notes. Puberty hit him like a hormonal brick, but being that he grew up through that phase training, he hasn't really acted on it. He's probably the type of guy who wouldn't last very long in sex, and he definitely, definitely hasn't had it. For the most part, though, he's way too concerned with other things to worry about sex. Because also, AoT is a pretty sexless world, so.
