01. Your memory is hazy and you might feel increasingly frustrated or anxious, or maybe you're excited as soldiers march past, barely glimpsing you. One second you're somewhere underground, the next you're enveloped in blue light, and suddenly you find yourself directly under Flordia sun's bright and burning glare. A female soldier steps toward you with a wide smile on her face and directs you to a car, ready to debrief you. You realize you are not the only one, surrounded by equally confused or eager faces... and you're all sporting a digital tattoo on your wrist.

02. Welcome to Cape Canaveral, where the smell of the ocean is in the air and locals are more than pleased to see new imPorts roaming their streets. They wave, they cheer, they ask for pictures as politely as they can. The more inhuman you look, or if you're wearing a costume, the more likely locals are to approach. Hey, enjoy the moment! The popular malt shop is offering you a free drink if you need it.

03. The technology in this world is certainly something. The cars are clearly modeled after popular 50s cars, but they hover several feet above the ground as they drive down the street. There are digital jukeboxes in restaurants, motorcycles also hover through traffic, advertisements can be seen on a digital projector on the taller buildings. Even kids on skateboards appear to drift a safe ten feet off the ground while playing!

04. Wherever you are, you can hear the loud revving of an engine, distance at first before you finally see it: a hovercar bursting around the corner, going beyond the maximum speed limit and just barely making its sharp turn. It doesn't appear to be slowing down any time soon, not with two police cars trailing it... and uh oh. Those skateboarding kids don't have much time to get out of the way as the car comes speeding down the road. You've been brought here for a reason Hero — so you better act fast.

[No daytime options here, considering the whole vampire thing, but maybe this happened at night too. Kids out late at night on their skateboards wearing low visibility clothing, or maybe it's still the case of the reckless driver, but either way heroics are needed import. Go save those kids!

...and in the aftermath, as opposed to the numerous hero crazed civilians you might expect to approach you or want your attention, it's a huge, muscular blonde who definitely isn't a native. He turns himself in your direction and speaks up, tone steady and inquisitive.]

...yet as the hulking shadow within the alleyway turns, he's just holding a loaf of bread in one hand, and there's nobody to be seen beyond him.]

[A man with a bad haircut stands here, holding a can of soda. He's overdressed for the Florida weather, as if he's just arrived from somewhere deep in the middle of winter. He looks neither rich nor poor, and - despite being so obviously out of place with that weird haircut and those bulky black clothes - has a familiar look about him. He could be any stranger you've sat next to on the bus a hundred times.

He remains by the side of the road for quite some time, a background extra in the film of life, looking out with a pleasantly neutral expression at the cars passing by and the children stupidly playing with their hoverboards in the middle of the street. The sound of sirens and the roar of an engine make him turn his head just slightly to see what the commotion's about. When he notes that the cars are on a collision course with those stupid kids, his mouth quirks into a little smile.

He takes a sip of his soda, anticipating the imminent splatter of blood and guts.]

[Gabriel knows how to spot a new ImPort a mile away, knows the lost, worried look on their faces. It's an endless source of amusement to sit there with a coffee, playing spot the newbie. As if an Archangel is going to show any kind of mercy to the poor saps being dragged into this place.

So when Gabriel sees the new guy, it's weird. The guy looks just so ordinary, he almost just dismisses him, barely catching the little smile at the collision. That's not normal. Still, there's time to watch the collision, Gabriel sipping his coffee and not even flinching at the carnage that unfolds. He's positive that teeth even flew at one point.

Suddenly he's next to the new guy, sipping his coffee and still watching the chaos ensuing.]

That'll leave a mark.

[It's a curious thing, to be greeted with such enthusiasm, as though she's one of the heroes that garner attention in her own world. The people here clearly know nothing of her, although it seems as though the military are aware of a few details, which is unsettling to say the least, but it's something that will need to be dealt with later. For now, despite her desire to slink into the background and disappear, she suspects that being in the spotlight will be more useful for her here, where there's even more acceptance of heroes than there is in her world. If she finds that she needs to work in secret later, she can always make use of another face, one that the military won't have on file.

She has no costume, merely having changed into a summer dress, but her tattoo is visible and she holds herself high, with a charming smile for anyone that might look her way. It's almost all fake, all practiced, but it serves a purpose so she'll - literally - grin and bear it for the time being. What she really wants is a cigarette and a strong drink, but if she has to carve out a persona for herself here, it will be flawless.

Eventually she makes her way to the malt shop, where a simple glimpse of her tattoo is seemingly enough to acquire her a free milkshake. Her sweet tooth was always a slight problem, but she is willing to indulge it now, sitting at the counter and sipping her milkshake as she watches passersby.]

[Jayden is also here for the free milkshake, because this heat is getting to him. He thought Boston summers could be brutal with heat and humidity, but he's never been to Florida before. Also, the moisture in the air has made his hair so frizzy it's almost a fro. If he's stuck here long term he's going to have to entertain the idea of a haircut.

He has the advantage of looking like a normal teenager until someone notices the tattoo, so he doesn't gather many looks as he comes through the door. The retro-ness of this place is so cute it borders on repulsive. But at least the girl sitting beside him at the counter is drop dead gorgeous, so things could be worse. He notices she also has a tattoo, but she seems older than him and his ability to talk to girls is not as good as he would like. For the moment he will simply look over at her with obvious surreptitious glances and sip his milkshake, waiting for the air conditioning to balance out his body temperature.]

[ He hadn't thought it could get worse than Barry Island. Losing Leo and Pearl, having to tolerate Annie and Tom in their stead, employment. This is worse. It's all too much, too quickly; soldiers, light, the sharp sting of the sun.

There are too many people. The thrum of their heartbeats is louder than the noise of the crowd, and it's impossible to focus on anything else. The woman approaches and Hal stumbles back, directly into another new arrival.

He's too on edge to help the knee-jerk, instinctive response; he turns around quickly, fangs bared with a hiss. Which probably sounds very lame, and it's actually a little bit lame, but it's made slightly more intimidating by said fangs. His eyes are wrong, too, completely ink-black. ]

[Edgeworth jerks back from that sight - because, good God, how could one not? The man has a terrifying appearance and clear aggression to match; because Edgeworth has adjusted, certainly, to strange-looking Imports, but strange-looking and ferocious - less so.

Yet he's not precisely afraid. He's more just startled. And, indeed, his response to the man baring fangs in his face is a stiff, snappish:]

[An enormous pterosaur stands out regardless of where she goes. Janine's kind of bemused by all this - why are humans so tiny? Why are there flying cars? - and she's convinced that this positive opinion's going to change in a hurry. At one point that would have scared her.

Buuut hey, she's not human now, she's a towering winged creature rightfully seen as amazing. Janine seems to accept this attention coolly, but something about her suggests that this is very entertaining.]

[Jaime's already had his day in the sun, and that's quite enough. Now, he knows better than to wander the streets on this day of all days with his wrists exposed, so he's wearing long sleeves even underneath the beating Florida sun.

He typically likes to think of himself as a fairly intelligent individual. Unfortunately, he occasionally proves himself wrong by spouting some very unintelligent things. Today's gem comes when he sees Janine as he turns the corner and blurts out:] Whoa. That's a dinosaur.

[Blake wasn't really one for fame or popularity. Yet her she was, barely able to walk around a corner without having someone stopping her for an autograph of a photo opportunity. She was even less inclined to answer their questions or letting them touch her gear. Handling them one by one was easy enough, but then she got rushed by a small crowd, all wanting to get to know the apparent celebrity.

Several forced smiles and rushed autographs later, Blake was finally free from her adoring fans.

She sighed, heading on her way, though not before making eye contact with someone else.]

[She sets the kid down with a dismissive wave, striding around to the driver's side and leaning down into the window, fangs flashing.]

However, the fact that she keeps using terms like 'fleshbag' and 'meaty little monkey parts' means that she probably won't put together the connection of Dorian Gray getting ported in here carrying a bigass (and really quite terrifying) portrait. Score. Covered portrait under his arm, Dorian walks over towards the massively tall woman, raising an eyebrow as she continues to interrogate the guard. ]

I highly doubt that he'll be of any use. After all, he's only hired help.

[It's been seventeen months since he lost his shinigami powers, and thus his awareness of the spiritual world. When he's been able to see spirits all his life, the sudden inability to perceive them is a bit like losing a limb, or a sense. You feel off-balance at first, but eventually, you learn to adjust. You live without it, although you never forget.

Once upon a time, he thought all he ever wanted was to live an ordinary life. Without spirits, without danger. Just be an average kid with his family. It's strange how life changes you. Fate works in mysterious ways, or some garbage like that, right?

He can see them again, all of a sudden. It's as if nothing ever changed, as if he never became a shinigami nor lost his powers. If it weren't for the combat pass and the Fullbring he could summon with it, he'd almost wonder if any of it ever happened. Ichigo's still not sure how to feel about it.

There's a pang of deja vu as he brings flowers out to an alleyway, places them by a site where a little girl was killed in a hit-and-run. As expected, her ghost meets him there, and smiles. Thanks him for his kindness. It's strange--the souls here don't have a chain of fate. Not that it matters anymore, he no longer has a zanpakutou. But it's a relief, in a way, that they'll never become hollows. At the same time...it's a shame they won't be able to move on.

He smiles at the little girl regardless, turning to leave.]

How they got it to stay on his skin was a mystery; anything else would have long disappeared due to the super serum in his body.

There was a newspaper hanging out of a garbage can. Fishing it out, Steve settled down on a nearby bench and began to read, wishing he had his old notepad and pencil to jot down notes with.]

04 [Costume or not, shield or not, Steve Rogers has always been a hero. Dr. Erskine's words have stayed with him all this time; "Don't be a perfect soldier, but a good man." It was, in some way, ingrained into him now. Steve made a good try at jumping clear of the incoming cars. And it would have worked, except one of the following policecars skidded at the last moment, clipping him on the side and sent him flying against a wooden dumpster nearby. ]

She doesn't recognise the place, the people, or the woman - she definitely doesn't recognise the car, and there's no way she's getting in it. She turns to push back through the crowd, picking up speed into a run, entirely uncaring about who she might knock over or bump into along the way.]

[ It had to be Florida.

After the orient, returning to Gotham had almost been a welcome relief. It had been a return to the place where he'd grown up, to an environment he knew intimately. When the weather was about to change Bruce felt it, just the same way that he'd eventually (and painstakingly) learned to predict the shifting snowstorms on the mountain, and feel the weakness in the fluvial ice as it flowed under his feet. Gotham was in his bones, and Florida...

Florida was a spot for a vacation, not a home. The days were longer, the summers went on forever, the sun was hotter--it was no place for a man who spent his nights decked head to toe in ballistic armor. Or was it 'for a man who'd once spent his nights' decked in armor? Just because he'd been brought here to fight for some heroic cause he didn't trust for a second didn't mean he intended to succumb, to pick up the mantle that he'd been forced to surrender. And greater calling certainly didn't change the overwhelming fact that Florida was just too hot.

It was no place for the Batman, and he was no man to wear that cowl.

But that was just fine for now; he could trouble himself with the details later. For the moment, Florida was plenty comfortable enough for moneybags playboy Bruce Wayne. Even without disposable cash, he could still play up the other side of his persona fluently enough, hoping to draw out more information from the local population with flirting and empty words, perhaps enough even to influence his decision. He almost hoped to hear something that brushed upon the pressing doubt he had in the mechanism and government that had brought him here--at least then he might have something to fight; something that warranted the return of the Bat.

For now, information had to be the key, and to that end Bruce hovered near one of the tacky tiki-bars on the beach, drink in hand, making conversation with anyone who held his eye contact long enough, or deliberately bumping shoulders with those who weren't paying attention. His 'excuse me' varied depending on the exchange, a question in the first circumstance, and an exclamation in the other. ]

there's a curious individual heading toward the bar after a few stares from the patrons. Loki hasn't bothered to put up an illusion to make his appearance fit the general atmosphere—instead he heads through in his long, green tacky coat and golden horned tiara; he really screams "impPort." those that don't part for him pull him aside for a photo. he obliges gracefully, even giving them an eccentric pose before leaving them to their gleeful exploits.

he tucks his own phone into his pocket and leans across the bar to order one of the gaudiest drink on the menu.]

[A green trenchcoat, turtleneck, and jeans might not be appropriate Florida attire, and yet the older, scarred man wearing exactly that didn't seem the slightest bit warm. Mainly because he couldn't remember the last time he could actually the heat against his skin. Still, he figured that he should probably get something cold to drink to cool off, maybe have a meal with it while he figures out how to come to terms with the fact he's apparently a full time resident in some alternate Earth Florida.

...If he could ever make it to a restaurant. Kaine feels as though he can barely take three steps before someone starts talking to him. Every time he briskly shakes one off, two more seem to take their place. Breaking one man's camera doesn't even get him a glare. It's a neverending process and frankly it's one that's already starting to get old. He's just about ready to tell off the latest of his apparent admirerers when the man offers him a free drink.]

There was a disconcerting gap in her memory banks, with little explanation as to where she was and how she had arrived.]

[The others were not present. No Hal Jordan. No Kilowag. No Razer. No signs of the Interceptor. Perhaps she had simply traveled too far from the landing area? Except, no...her scans were not detecting the ship's energy signature either. And there was a strange marking on the underside of her metallic wrist component that had not been there previously.]

[It was a question spoken in hesitance, as much to herself as to anyone in the general vicinity who might take it upon themselves to stop long enough to answer.]

[It's not Earth as he knows it - that's for sure. Hovering cars are not something a lot of the public has (Sphere was special in the fact that she was from another planet). Even the kids have skateboards that don't touch the ground which doesn't seem that safe considering they're flying over his head. All of this looks like it belongs in Mount Justice or at Batman's fingertips. Maybe Superboy doesn't look quite right among the crowd either considering there's a white wolf as tall as his shoulder walking along behind him. Or the red "S" printed on his shirt.]

[He hears the sirens from miles away and leaps to the top of the nearest building to catch sight of the flashing lights that accompany it. Superboy takes off across the roofs towards the chase, Wolf following from the ground. Without exchanging a word, the superhuman pair take action once they reach the cars. Wolf jumps into the air to grab the children by the backs of their shirts and pull them away, while Superboy hurls himself off of the nearby building and down onto the front of the criminals' car. It buckles underneath him, the engine crumbling and the car spins out towards the street. Superboy moves to catch it before it could damage anything or hurt anyone.

Once the momentum is stopped, he eases it down to the ground moving to the driver's side where he pulls off the door with the sound of wrenching metal. Superboy reaches in to grab the driver with one hand while Wolf growls at the passenger from the other side. That's the point when the police scramble out of the car to arrest both of the criminals. With both of them handcuffed and sitting in the back of the police cruiser, Superboy turns away and to face the people who have gathered to watch.]

[ Robin's on his way to the scene of the action when he sees a familar flash of red and black and hears the familiar sounds of property damage. No way. Could it be—? Oh yeah, it is. Well, it's a good thing Robin's here in time to help— or not, he thinks, as Superboy makes quick work of the situation.

. . . Oookay, crisis averted. Or, well, close enough.

Robin weaves himself into the crowd, a familar face in familiar sunglasses, applauding politely with a cheeky little grin on his face. ]

[ So maybe when she was a kid, she thought about being a superhero. Not, like, actively or anything - living in the world she was stuck in, dreams died pretty quickly - but the way your mind sometimes wanders off when you're standing at your post. She thought about flying sometimes, far away from here, from everything. Or she thought about having super strength, or being able to stop bullets in midair. Craziest of all, she though about being immune to the infected.

Yeah. Pretty fucking stupid, right?

But there are suddenly people, tons of them. Her first instinct is to grab her gun, but those melon-heads obviously took hers from her when she got here. But these people - they aren't groaning, or screaming. They're talking, like there's something left in the world to talk about. There's military, like at home, but there are also people just - meandering. No unification, no organization. Riley has never seen apathy like this before in her life. She fucking wished she could be this lazy when she was a kid, for godssake.

She stays pressed against the wall, because it's instinct for her to do so, and because she feels so fucking naked without her gun. Yeah, they looked innocent enough. But Riley knew all too well - you never can tell when someone's infected. ]

[Once she's settled her, Max is going to have a very serious talk with whoever's in charge, about the fact they're bringing children to this place. Kidnapping adults is one thing, but taking children from their homes is unacceptable.

But she can't do that yet, so when she sees Riley pressed against a wall, all she can do is walk over. Max makes sure to approach from the side, so as not to make the girl feel trapped, but to also approach obviously rather than sneaking up on her.]

1 . [ HELLO SIRS, THIS IS WOLF.

It really is wolf. There is a red wolf -- HUGE even for wolf standards -- staring at everyone, ears back against his skull and tail between his legs. He has NO IDEA what is going on and everything is confusing. Wars and humans talking to him and him pretending he doesn't understand a thing because HE IS JUST A WOLF OF COURSE SIR JUST A WOLF.

Toboe is so lost. Last thing he remembers was... dying in Quents arm's. Taking few last painful breathes and seeing Paradise. Then he was brought to this place and debriefed and now asked to get in a car. SORRY BUT NOPE. He doesn't know you, nice lady with a nice smile. As far as he knows, she is from Jaguara's army and they are going to take his blood and stuff him like she did with many wolves.

The tattoo is there, even if covered by fur, though. Yes, the scared wolf appears to be a hero indeed! Talk about crazy, huh? ]


2 . [ WATER. SAND. PEOPLE.

Toboe is confused and maybe lost, but when people approach him and PET HIM well now this is became amazing and wonderful. Children are the first to approach, screaming and squealing "PUPPY" with delight and said puppy was just as thrilled, wagging his tail so fast and licking their faces. Parents eventually approach as well, petting him and the delighted "dog" sits down, panting.

Best day ever.

Wildcard . [ There is a wolf walking around the streets of Heropa. A WOLF.

Okay, maybe some people can confuse him with a dog, but overall it's not hard to miss this is a wolf and he is huge. He has an ImPort tattoo. And he also seems a bit lost, walking through the streets fast, trying to find something.

In fact he is. He is trying to find a place where someone won't be STARING at him and where he can use his illusion and look human to others. But apparently everyone IS staring at him and he can't just turn like that, no matter how badly he wants.

Finally, he makes a turn to a dark alley and looks around. Perfect. There is no one there. And where once was a wolf there is now a 14 years old boy, who leans against the wall. ] Wah... that was hard. Why is everyone staring? [ he remembers to look at his wrist after, seeing the tattoo. And after, he licks it, trying to take it off, but nothing happens. ]

[Another wolf! Not quite the same as Wolf but that doesn't stop him from sniffing Toboe out. The Kryptonian that follows him looks suspiciously like a human and confused about where Wolf is going. Even calling out his name. When Wolf follows the scent trail to Toboe, he has to look down at him as his head comes up to the shoulder of a human. He knows his own scent isn't quite right due to the chemicals that were injected into him but this is the first time he's seen another Wolf since joining the team. But despite having been just an ordinary wolf at one point, he's quite intelligent and sits a few feet away to allow Toboe to do what he wants first.

Or Conner can ruin it by moving next to Wolf and spotting Toboe. This prompts him to take a couple of steps towards the brown-ish wolf with one hand held out with his palm up.]

Hey, it's okay. No one is going to hurt you, I promise.

[Wolf gruffs behind Conner and nods his head in the Kryptonian's direction as if to say that he's a good guy and will be true to his word.]

[He's not enjoying the attention. Before Kieren had the chance to pull his hood up, a few locals caught the sight of his pale skin and prinprick eyes and swarmed in like he were some sort of novelty. He's bolted now, heading out towards the shops. The beach will be too busy, he decides. He's not dressed for it, either. It had been winter, back home; barely in the middle of December. When he glances up at the sky, he sees the blue and misses being able to feel the heat. He probably looks a bizarre sight, dressed in his boots, over-sized jumper and hoodie.

He finds a bench, sits himself on it and drags his hands down his face. He shuts his eyes tight, counts to ten and when he opens them again, he's still in Florida. It's sobering, being completely out of his depth. All the time he's spent trying to get out of Roarton and now he's here, just as he'd been coming to terms with staying. Simon would get a laugh out of this, he's sure.

He sits with his head in his hands for a long time; stuffed in his pocket is his medication gun and bottle of Neurotriptilyne. He's still not had his dose; he wonders how he's going to get his dose now that he's here and not in his living room. That's the first thing, then - find a quiet corner and try to do this himself. Failing that, find someone who looks like they won't freak out if he asks them to give him a hand. A shaking, weary sigh escapes his mouth as he stands. Time to find somewhere with a toilet, then.

He tugs down his hood, glances around and reaches out to the first stranger he sees. ]

Err - excuse me. You wouldn't happen to know anywhere with a bathroom, would you?

[Mabel stops when he addresses her, cocking her head to the side and exchanging a glace with one of the piglets trailing behind her. She's gotten involved with tall dark hoodied teenagers before-- it never ends well. But this guy looks relatively normal (or, at least, he's not a stack of gnomes) and she's a hero now! She can handle anything, plus you have to be nice to all citizens. So she smiles and nods at him, pointing towards a line of shops and restaurants nearby.]

I think those restaurants over there have open bathrooms! Are you feeling okay? You look stressed, which is not something people usually are on the beach.

Reeve Tuesti/Cait Sith - Final Fantasy VII

The best part, Reeve has long since discovered, is that Cait Sith is so very obvious that people often overlook the man behind the cat. They tend to see the knee high crown wearing booted toy and ignore the quiet man wearing a suit. That, as far as Reeve is concerned, is perfectly fine and had to a degree been the design of the robotic extension of himself.

Reeve wasn't a fool, or naively optimistic; either would have gotten him killed or worse by ShinRa. He may have registered and decided to play along with this... America's government but he didn't trust them any more than he thought he could ever hope to win an arm wresting match with Cloud... or any of the others he'd made friends with back on Gaia. They had things in that file that even the Turks didn't know about him.

So it was with investigation in mind that Reeve and Cait Sith had settled in on the boardwalk. The cat gamboling around and being overly curious and engaging enthusiastically in the pictures and attention while the man sat on the park bench with his milkshake and watching the crowds over the top of a newspaper.

It wasn't terribly difficult to notice Cait Sith posing for photos and entertaining the crowd. But Rufus ShinRa knew where the cat was, the man behind the controls wouldn't be too far away and that was who he was looking for.

He bypassed the crowd, he had learned to avoid attention when he didn't want it by covering the tattoo, at the moment he had something more important to do. Why everyone seemed so determined on calling him a hero, Rufus wasn't quite sure yet but at the moment, his lips quirked as he caught sight of the man watching over the top of a newspaper.

It didn't take him long to make his way over, simply taking a seat beside the other man without bothering to ask permission, he saw no reason. "What a surprise, if I may say so," he commented after a moment as if commenting on the weather, his blue eyes remaining on the crowd for a moment before looking at Reeve.

No, really, a malt shop. Next to the flying classic cars that his clients would probably trip over themselves to own. Next to the kids dressed like they're from some version of Back to the Future - the one where Marty went back to save his parents marriage, but on hoverboards like-

Cary is not going to think about it like that anymore. Instead he's going to drink his malt (his malt!) and stare, befuddled, at what is not Chicago.

But God help everyone if Mr. Sandman comes on the radio one more time-]

[It's altogether absurd that the witness wanted to meet here. In a malt shop, for God's sake. But if this was where she felt most comfortable, then it was not for him to force her to meet with him at his office. And, indeed, her relaxation did seem to help - her story sounded far more natural as she sat sipping at her milkshake, far more convincing, far more truthful. It was just going to be his task to ensure that she was as convincing on the stand.

At one point, near the end of his discussion with the witness, a young man with the look of a lawyer about him had sat in the booth next to theirs; Edgeworth had stopped Ms. White, and eyed the young man for a moment before having her continue. Still, he'd put an end to their meeting before too long; if the man were a spy for the defense, he probably wouldn't look so obvious, but Edgeworth wasn't about to take risks.

So after he bids her farewell, he sits, writing down his final notes on the testimony and noting his strategy to come.]
