01. The city of Heropa is what one might expect from a small, bright and cheery place, where locals are friendly enough and local shop owners might offer a free drink to welcome you to their fair city. Some of the locals might thank you for always lending your service to the nation and others might not say anything. In fact, some people might back away from any imPort who quite obviously looks like they aren't from around the neighborhood. Once in a while there's a look of disdain on someone's face and hushed voices.

An upset, deeply masculine voice wonders aloud: "More of them, when we already know they can't protect us? That's just painting a bigger target on the city's back!"

"That's just what Ronald Chump says!" Exclaims a young woman. She raises her fist in anger at the imPort-hating individual. "We're not going to tolerate bigots here!"

02. De Chima, Virginia, is a large city with a healthy economy, and though it's quieter, there are just as many citizens awed at your presence. Science and technology are the lifeblood of this city, so you're likely to come across a good many locals taking your picture with the newest of devices. Be forewarned: since FanPort happened, imPort fandom is at a new height. Don't be surprised if people start following you just to see if you'll do anything TMZ-worthy.

The trick is to stay calm, and don't wig out if someone asks what you think about imPort shipping.

03. Maurtia Falls, Pennsylvania, is having a rainy day. The streets seem to be running with water, the sky can't seem to stop crying. You might want to check out some consumerism-inclined shelter, be that a smoky and dart-eyed bar full of grumbling locals, or a grimy and industrial coffee shop (full of grumbling locals). Watch your step, newly minted imPort, because if you let on that you're fresh meat then you're likely to attract a posse of two or three sharp knuckled no-good-dooers. This is the criminally exciting part of town, so beware.

04. Nonah, North Carolina, is the liveliest of all cities; loud, busy and there's some kind of energy in the air that gets everyone buzzing with excitement. There's a baseball game going on in one of the parks amidst all those tall buildings, and you're welcome to watch! It's not an official game in the season, it's more like a friendly skirmish between local baseball teams. Midway through the game, the umpire might take note of you new imPorts -- assuming you're standing out in the crowd. He'll welcome you to throw a pitch if you'd like! Of course, the opposing team isn't too keen on the idea. Better look for more imPorts to play ball!

A. This imPort arrives in a devastating state of undress; she's clad only in a rich red robe. Her dark hair is a mess of waves about her face. In her hands she clutches something to her breast; a sole child's shoe. She's obviously newly arrived and frantic, stopping just about anyone she runs into that will listen to her.

"Please, please I must find the embassy! I have to, I must return to Barrayar! My son, I-!" She never gets far before the random citizens of Earth flee from her mad ravings. At this point she's on the verge of tears.


B. It's been a few weeks and gone is the woman so distraught to find herself galaxies, centuries away from home. Now she's calm, the image of serenity.

She sits on a park bench in her new hometown, and perhaps it's also your hometown now, too. Cupping her hands, the woman takes a deep breath and watches as her palms begin to alight with flames. They don't burn her, they hardly seem to phase her at all. Anyone daring to touch might not find themselves so lucky. At the barest hint of suggestion she could snuff them out or perhaps alight the whole bench on fire.

Her expression is marred then by the tiniest hint of a wry smile. She whispers to herself, her eyes still intent on the flames, "What hypocrisy is this?"

[ Seeing as how Gregor's mother had died before Miles was born, he doesn't recognize her on sight. He might not even have been able to pick her out in a crowd even knowing she was there. (The robe tells him nothing, tattered as it is.) But hearing the word Barrayar ... Miles' head whips right around, as if the word had physically struck him. Someone he doesn't recognize? Talking about Barrayar?

Guiltily, he's relieved to see that the speaker is a woman. That significantly narrows the possible danger levels involved here (though he is not going to rule the matter out.) He approaches carefully, trying to project all the calm he can. Being tiny (and "obviously" mutated) likely doesn't help with that, he realizes.

(He has Cordelia's eyes - bright and clear and firm.) ]

That's not a planet name I hear every day. Please calm down - I promise you I can help.

A - HEROPA

[ Crowds. Noise. People. Open spaces ... Claire doesn't much like any of these things on a good day, and waking up in a strange room in a strange world instantly disqualifies this from being anything that could remotely be described as good. Any number of unpleasant scenarios whirl through her head. First and foremost, of course, being the possibility that she's simply been wiped and woken up again somewhere else...

She gulps in deep breaths, trying to calm herself. She's a slim, young woman in a doctor's coat, clutching a small bag close to her that rattles with the various medications and implements she brought with her. Most eye catching, however, is the set of scars bisecting her face several times over. No mistaking her for someone else with those.

Trying to make herself as unobtrusive as possible, ducks into a small coffee shop not far off the main drag. She's shaking by the time she gets here, fighting off what is surely an incipient panic attack. But when the shopowner spots her barcode and offers her a glass of tea, she wards it off with a sharp headshake. ]

I'm - I'm fine. Thank you. Please go away.

[ Let her have some peace in her own head. Something is buzzing there, something painful and new and awake. ]

B - Lost in Maurtia Falls

[ And then, eventually, Claire must leave whatever sanctuary she's found in the shops to actually navigate to her assigned housing. Somewhere quieter, she hopes, and not so many people. The trouble is getting there. She's instantly turned around trying to navigate, and her agoraphobia makes wandering a hopeless challenge. Plus the map is waterlogged ... In the end she decides to wrestle with the lesser of two evils: talking to people. Her voice wavers slightly as she approaches. ]

Does this street actually exist? I can't find the sign.

[ ... Claire's really not good with people. Nervous and sarcastic at the same time, coming out in a jumble. Is this the first time she's felt rain on her face? It might be. God. ]

[Tristan knew he wasn't going to be protecting anyone any time soon. The powers were cool, but being a superhero wasn't really his thing. He could try his hand at supervillain though. That'd be cool.

Apparently people had very strong opinions about his presence, though. And Ronald McDonald cared, too, for some reason.]

Geez. People haven't fought over me this much since my last contract was up...

[Now this place was more Tristan's speed. He was used to seedy criminals and people trying to pick fights with him. And his response to that is, well...to accept the fight and start up a bit of a brawl.

Which is why he was being shooed out of the bar by an angry employee who was yelling something that Tristan wasn't paying attention to. He turns around and yells:]

Hey, he started it! Not my fault I'm better at punching.

[And then brushes his vest off and starts walking.]

[And starts walking...to be greeted by none other than James Patrick March, invading Tristan's personal space out of NOWHERE with the sternest of looks on his face. Like a father who's just heard the absolute worst news about his kid giving nerds at school swirlies or cocaine or both.]

[A bright and cheery town deserves a bright and cheery lad, one hand tucked into his pocket, the other balancing a potted plant on his hip like a child. He'll smile at any pretty girl who looks like she'll smile back, and lean down to examine any plant life he comes across. Should someone take a closer look they might notice that the plants seem to strain towards him. Perhaps a vine out of a hanging pot drops down on his shoulders as you walk past, or maybe those azaleas think there's a VERY strong wind.

Or maybe you notice that the tattoos on his arms move along with the plants he's touching]

Now then, I'm not looking for any trouble.

[Maybe it was the way he asked for directions, or how to check something on his comm, but a few less than friendly types have managed to push Briar into a side street. His shakkan is set on the ground beside him, hopefully out of the way, and his hands are loose at his sides.]

You lads wouldn't want it to get out that this town is nasty to visitors, now would you?

[ He's walking in the other direction, robe fluttering slightly in the wind, when his sensors pick up the rustle of plant life; he's seen enough plants to know that they don't usually move too much.

So the fact that these are moving more than he's ever seen in his life, not buoyed by the slight breeze, is interesting. He looks for where they seem to be going, spotting the other person. ]

Are these yours? [ He raises his voice a little to be heard. ]

Scene 01 -- over at heropa

[The moment Nike had calmed down from her earlier over-reaction in having been taken away from her world and, more or less, listened to the explanation behind their abrupt actions, she was finally given permission to leave the premises while being accompanied by a guard or two. There was definitely some relieve when her unofficial escorts decided to leave her side before reaching the city that she needed to look after and live in. This situation was somewhat nostalgic to her as she felt that she needed to do everything all over again -- adapt to a new way of living -- as she did when she was forced to leave her own kingdom a few months ago.

Fortunately, just like her originally thoughts about the Sun Kingdom, the city known as Heropa was just as bright and beautiful. There was simply one major difference: the city didn't feel as dry as the Sun Kingdom did. Nor did the citizens feel as though their hearts were entirely closed off. And, no, her opinion didn't have anything to do with the free drinks. Not at all. But it was a good start.

Once Nike had gone further into the city, she will begin to notice something unusual: some of the people would begin to evade her. At first, she didn't think too much about it as her original thoughts were: they most likely want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the crowds that were greeting me. She does admit that there was a point she was surrounded by them especially after being given a free drink and asked for a review in the process due to her overly positive reaction to it. However, the comment over their true disdain in her welcome will catch her attention. She was left speechless, at first, because she genuinely believed her captors and the citizens over being able to protect them, but after witnessing comments that she once heard from high ranking priests and monarchs over her lack of skills in being the next Queen of her world, she couldn't help want to learn more about it.]

Ah! No, it's fine. You don't need to defend me. I think he has a right to his opinion, right?

[The native that originally defended her didn't seem to mind her reply, but it was obvious they sincerely believed in the "Imports" as they call them as to be heroes. Even so, Nike decided to follow after the native that spoke their opinion, but after catching her literally running after them it would seem they began to legit run away from her. The behavior will leave her feeling a little astounded, but it gave her more reason to chase after them.]

Hey, wait! I only want to ask you a few questions! Let's talk about this calmly, okay!?

Scene 02 -- over at virginia

Wah!

[The next city was an interesting experience, to say the least. Nike was beginning to get used to shielding her eyes from camera flashes or getting surrounded by citizens with odd contraptions taking document of her. She understood the items were known as "cameras" or "phones" and the like because the military were kind enough to inform her over the matter concerning the advancement of technology. It was still an idea she was getting used to. Too bad she was beginning to feel a slight annoyance over it.]

I still don't get your need to document me like this! Are you expecting me to do something? Just tell me what to do instead of pointing that thing at me. It's a little creepy and all... [As she spoke those words under her breath, one of the people pointing the phone towards her will lower the item and ask over her thoughts of "shipping her with others" which will leave Nike....even more confused.] Umm, well, I just got here, but I wouldn't mind being shipped away to another land especially with an experience person. I think they can better open my horizons. I'm pretty inexperience in these type of things, you know?

[Needless to say, the reaction of the citizens will grow from fascination to over-excitement as they all make an overly positive reaction to her response as they return to taking countless pictures of her. There will be a lot of flashing especially of the every body part kind. Someone, please save her before she explodes!]

Scene 03 -- over at pennsylvania

[Out of all the cities she has visited so far, this one she felt most at home in. Well, if you ignore the way the air felt a little....unstable. It didn't feel as open or friendly as the other cities, but it didn't feel as closed neither. The surroundings didn't feel dry as one would expect in an unsafe type of area.

Unlike most of the people avoiding the rain, Nike will allow the water to touch her form as she closes her eyes for a moment to survey the area a little further. The rain felt different to her. Something about it didn't feel right. Almost as though...

She'll begin to reach out her hands towards the sky with her gaze taking an overly concentrated expression as she begins to sing, almost as though she was attempting to communicate with the rain, clouds, and sky. Water particles will begin to flow from the ground up in her general area. She might be attempting to stop the rain, but the clouds don't seem to budge. After a while, she will end her song as her gaze looks down.]

...it'll take some time before this world can accept me. I need to find the proper lyrics and harmony for better communication.

[Her gaze and thoughts were so deeply over the situation that she hasn't noticed the gazes examining her from the distance. It won't be long until someone decides to risk it and decide to attack her as they found her earlier show to be...slightly invasive especially when the song had the potential to make their bodies tremble by the intensity of it. Needless to say, they didn't appreciate her song at all! And she was too deep in her thoughts to notice.]

[All other shenanigans or ideas for prompts are totally accepted and highly encourage. Let's totally culture shock her or bully her or take her under your wing or just do whatever you want with her. Go crazy! The possibilities are endless~]

[It doesn't take much to figure Nike as being new. Yuu hadn't reacted much if any better initially either. But he can't just ignore her, when she clearly still has questions. Heck, he still feels like he has questions after more than a week here himself. So he pauses in his outing when he spots her running after and calling to the locals.]

I haven't been here nearly so long as some others, but I might be able to help, depending on your questions. Want to go get a drink?

[Which is really a mark on how much more open Yuu is when previously he wouldn't have bothered. The way he had tried so hard to keep his walls up in trying to not let something similar happen with the vampires back home. But he's trying to move past that. Is doing so rather well considering, especially now he knows Mika is still alive.]

Riku Replica | Kingdom Hearts

[Scenario I]

[Upon awaking from his unconscious state on a park bench no less, Riku Replica sits up looking baffled at his new location. Just where was he? This didn't look like Castle Oblivion, he was also positive Larxene was about to have her way with him just before he closed his eyes. Nevertheless, he's arrived in Heropa being greeted by some people and others who aren't so friendly. In fact, one guy comes up to him trying to pick a fight because he's one of those anti-imPort people. Of course, the Replica is not only slightly pissed off but still in his Dark Mode. So what does he do? He decides to materialize his sword the Soul Eater into his hand to fight the guy of course.]

Looks like you picked the wrong person to fight, loser. Maybe if I feel like it, I'll spare you.

[And he's ready to fight this guy while glaring at him now very angrily, please someone stop him.]


[Scenario II]

[A few hours later after the whole incident in the park, he's now taking in the city for all its sights. Eventually as he's walking around, he notices more people staring at him especially girls. They giggle as he looks confused and seem to be whispering. He was already in a foul mood, so that wasn't helping. Eventually the next person he bumps into whether they be an imPort or a citizen, they'll feel the wrath of this boy.]

Watch where you're going, idiot! Or do I have to drill that fact into your brain with my sword?

[He was very much ready to materialize his Soul Eater if need be.]

[Yuu really is doing his best to try keep his head down and take his time to figure this place out and all. Seeing Riku Replica materialize Soul Eater doesn't help things. It doesn't exactly look like the other guy has any sort of weapon to defend himself with. So of course Yuu feels he has to step in. He approaches and steps in between the local and the obvious new arrival.]

I don't think he was serious. Besides, does it look like he has anything to defend himself with when you have that?

[Of course, Yuu himself has Ashuramaru, but he'd really rather not entirely let loose here. Especially not in public.]

02. De Chima - some random streets

[ well great, paparazzi. Jack's wary enough after being forcefully transported through time and space that he doesn't have the patience for this kind of shit, and it doesn't seem like his scowls, rolled eyes and loud sighs are forceful enough to keep the locals away. every time he's stopped for a photo or question he seems to vanish, appearing mysteriously a street or two down from where he originally was. those who are observant enough, or just fast enough, can see how the trick works— it's time manipulation, with him breaking out into a full on sprint for the few seconds he can stop time.

the first few escapes are easy enough, and he walks it off with a shake of his head and a muttered cursed under his breath, but every so often it looks like it takes quite a drain on him, and he leans against the side of a building, breathing hard as he waves off any attempt at assistance. can't a guy recover in peace? ]

03. Maurtia Falls - your average cheap dive

[ the rain catches him by surprise, and its only a matter of minutes before he's drenched and soaking wet. running through stopped time only gets him so far before he has to rest, and time resumes. at least it leaves behind a pretty cool sight, the rain bending and falling to the side like it's been pushed by some invisible force. after a few minutes of running he can finds a bar to take shelter in, and although it's more dive than trendy, its his kind of scene. dingy, dangerous, and probably full of guys with rap sheets as long as his.

the bartender and crowd don't seem entirely pleased with his presence, water pooling on the floor where he stands and sits, leaving very hazardous puddles on the sticky floor for unsuspecting drunks to slip in. Jack doesn't notice, or care really, turning his attention to finding an open barstool and ordering a double whiskey. it's not until he's about three drinks in that he realizes that a. his clothes are still soaked, b. its cold af, and c. he has no way to pay. ]

( for once, tej looks incredibly out of place. but this -- people who are willing to buy and sell anything, that's the sort of people tej knows best. although they could stand to class it up a bit. is it too early to start making deals, tej wonders? it's something rish would advise her to do -- make connection to use later. favors, deals. but tej doesn't like the idea of smoking someone if they don't come through; she could never do it herself unless she absolutely had to.

but surely she wouldn't have to do it here! so instead tej smiles at him; tall, buxom, and -- like him -- dripping wet. )

[Daryl said, coming up behind her as he fished out a couple bills. He'd managed to acquire some cash stole tips off a cafe table earlier in the day and could really use a beer. And from the way a few of the other people in the bar were eyeing her over her giddy smile and far too happy attitude, he figured it would be better to make it seem like she was with him. Less of an easy target.

He leaned in toward her as he put the money on the bar and murmured into her ear so only she'd catch his words:]

You're standing out too much, sunshine. Making these folks nervous. Keep your voice down, grab your beer, and follow me to a table.

[For all that he'd leaned in so close, he didn't actually touch her or assume he had a right to. Just picked up his bottle and headed off.]

He would have been expelled from any House Major ages ago ( she mutters, thumbing through the article on her phone ) the moment his first business venture failed.

( rain... it shouldn't be such a big deal -- of course she knows what it is, but seeing it is a completely different story. to go from cordonah station to the domes of komarr to this. it doesn't occur to her to buy an umbrella, she'd rather enjoy it while it lasts. and even then her enjoyment is tampered by thoughts of home, of rish, of her family -- it seems like with every day here, her chances of seeing them grow smaller. those that lived, however.

tej swallows whatever sorrow she feels, refusing to let it overwhelm her, and settles down into her seat with a cup of coffee. still soaking wet and uncaring. rish she thinks, longing for her sister overcoming her the moment one of her fingers taps the rim of her cup. there's a long second where the surface of the cup ripples and then transforms into a polished gem, cup and coffee and all. lapis lazuli.

tej starts, pushing back from the table in a moment of shock, forgetting herself and the urge to stay low in her surprise. )

[ The Coz, in all his (tiny) glory, peeks over at her phone in a friendly manner. He's significantly younger, though, and his cane is nowhere to be seen. And - perhaps more startling - he's speaking in a flat, distinctly Betan accent.

... Meanwhile, it's taking him a moment for his brain to catch up with his ears House Major. That accent ... Wait, is this woman Jacksonian? He frowns a bit, puzzled. ]

[ This guy just SCREAMS "I am new here and don't know what's going on". Because not only does he have hair so pale it's practically white, a bandaged left hand, and a crippled right hand, fingers sticking out at slightly odd angles, but Medraut is...just 100% straight up wearing some sort of medievalesque type tunic. Homeboy looks a little Chronicles of Narnia or, more accurately, a little King Arthur.

It's because he stands out so much that Medraut's heard everybody's opinions about imPorts (though at least he's got a free drink now, even if this 'sweet tea' tastes absolutely horrific in his mind). He's been quiet for the most part, listening and only offering up a suggestion if he feels it's truly needed. It's after someone mentions something akin to painting a bigger target on the city for the fifth time, that Medraut caves. He desperately needs information and if chatting up a stranger is how he gets that information, so be it. Sorry rando, you're getting bothered. ]

Pardon me for asking, but is this city prone to invasion? Is there some resource here that's desired? Because person after person has brought up the concept of protecting the city, as if that's something of dire importance.

[ He can't help but hide the annoyance in his tone as he talks. Stop making him look stupid, random citizens. ]

[ Different day, different city, different person who has accosted him about the fact that he was an imPort. As someone who still wasn't entirely certain how to deal with concerted attention, the fact that everyone here seems they have something to say to him is annoying. This person seems to be talking his ear off about something. And...there's such a confusing pause. Because shipping? What? Medraut can't help but look a little bit confused, small frown crossing his features.

More to himself than anyone else, he mutters, ] But what precisely do boats have to deal with it?

[ Someone please explain to him what's going on. ]

[ Oh my God, look at this library, look at all these books. Medraut is acutely aware that his medical information is out of date. Bandaged hand, he got ported in with a wounded hand, he got to experience the wonders of modern surgery like right off the bat. As such, he knows his herbs aren't going to cut it. And he's nothing if not a doctor—he wants to find out so much about this world's medicine and he wants to find out about it now.

So, he's just laden down with books. Basic medical texts, a few history of medicine books, and a couple of children's books about visiting a hospital. He's got so many books that he's just taking up the entire table...which is the only free table AT the library.

Just bug or distract him, he's too enrapt in Henry Gray's Anatomy Of The Human Body to pay anybody any sort of attention. ]

The Virginia place he was allowed to head to through the transporter wasn't just more welcoming than Heropa, it was far more annoying. He kept getting swamped by groups of two and three when people realized he was more armed than anyone except cops or imPorts were regularly allowed to be. Asked who he was, what he did, if he liked this hero or that one. If he knew them. If he was new or just laying under the radar. It was enough to drive a man crazy.

"I said I don't-" Daryl cut himself off as he realized one of the groupies had said a name he recognized. "Did you say Carl Grimes?"

"Oh yeah! And Enid! They're my OTP!" the kid answered, smiling wide now that she'd gotten a response that wasn't him just growling at her and snapping 'go aways'. She opened her shipping folder op and pulled out an 8x10 of Carl and Enid that had obviously been taken without their knowledge. It was just them talking in a crowded hall of some sort, but that was definitely them. "I saw them both last week at FanPort. It was awesome."

Daryl took the picture from her, asking if he could have it. Apparently she was selling the pictures, so twenty bucks later, Daryl had his own picture to go up to people with. And he did, going up to the nearest person that looked like they might be an imPort, too, and held it out, "You seen either'a these kids?"

For Enid
When the file Daryl had been given had said he had 'flower power', Daryl was pretty sure someone was playing a really stupid joke on him. But for some reason when he'd focused on finding either Carl or Enid, he'd seen a Forget-Me-Not just pop up and grow to full bloom inside of ten seconds not ten feet from him. Investigating it - because really, how could he not? - had resulted in him picking one of the blooms. It and the rest of the plant had crumbled in his hands, becoming this softly glowing ash before blowing away. He'd been about to write it off as just weird when he noticed another Forget-Me-Not appear in the same way about thirty feet down the sidewalk, sticking up out of the crack.

He didn't know what possessed him to follow it, but he had. And about an hour later he found himself outside one of those kitschy jewelry stores tucked away from the general populace. The Forget-Me-Not was growing just over the door and through the window was the familiar face of Enid. Daryl reached up to pick the last flower, murmuring a thank you to it, before entering and moving to stand just to her side, "Enid?"

[ Brianna looks up at Daryl, mildly surprised he's approaching her, but not afraid—even though he looks like he seriously needs a bath and a haircut. She's pretty sure she looked worse when she showed up, so she'll give him a pass there. Oh. Enid and Carl. (Wait, are they dating or something? How come she doesn't know about this? Whatever. She'll deal with that later.) She looks from the picture of her fellow imPorts to the man asking about them and frowns, suddenly suspicious. What does a guy like this want with them? ]

[ The harsher whispers are easiest to ignore (for it would be shame, wouldn't it, if the once traitor of Narnia couldn't stomach the subtle insults thrown at his person), and the eyes that stray back and forth are deflected with a patient, curious smile. He delights in seeing others turn red with shame at being caught, although he doesn't do it quite that often. He makes careful note of the fact that not everyone is happy over the arrival of apparent imPorts, but that is, of course, something to be revisited for another day, when Edmund becomes far more aware what, exactly, he's managed to drag himself into.

It's been a confusing morning, all told. The last thing he remembers is Rabadash's trial, and the good night's sleep he had after it. Everything that had been told to him, the pamphlet that he's been given, they only confuse him more — oh, they are easy enough to understand. They are here to help the citizens fight in a war, somehow with 'powers' that Edmund did not even know manifested in him. He's been given the file and is walking around with it at hand, but is yet to read it.

Walking has him focused on his surroundings, and how different it is from home, that he stops at one point and sits down on an empty chair situated outside a quaint cafe at the end of the road. it'd be nice to take a break from all the walking, anyway. ]

Such stunning architecture — Oh! [ as he's musing out loud to himself, the cafe owner approaches him with a cup of coffee and an offer a plate of colorful looking sweets that are, apparently, called cupcakes. Edmund doesn't have the heart to tell the owner that he has no stomach for anything sweet any longer, and accepts the plate with a smile. ] Thank you very much.

[ After the man returned to his shop, Edmund turns to the person sitting close to him, whoever they are. ] Would you like some? I'm afraid I've lost my taste for sweets a long time ago.


B — DE CHIMA.
[ The quietness had been a welcome treat, after all the hassle that came with Heropa. He is kindly pointed to the library, a place that he would definitely frequent in the future, but not before being asked for a 'picture', whatever that is. The girls titter loudly when he asks, taking notice of the fact that he is new, and he smiles patiently as they explain it to him. Of course, he still doesn't understand (they don't quite explain it very well, seeing as a couple of them get flustered when he asks them directly) but he nods when prompted.

In the end, he ends up smiling confusedly at a box when they asked him to, but he didn't expect the flash off light it produced. ]

Oh, that's — the light, where did it come from?

[ mahanon is completely, amazingly lost, and he's not quite sure how that happened. he's dalish, for mythal's sake, and sure, he wasn't one of his clan's hunters, but every good dalish child learns how to find one's way in the wilderness. .. honestly, maybe that's the problem. after all, this is a city, and not just a city, but a big one by his standards. on top of that, he's very much alone here, which he hasn't been in.. a while.

good reasons or not, this is still pretty embarrassing. maybe he can ask directions?

.. that's how he finds himself in a coffee-shop, looking extremely out-of-place with his very old-fashioned clothing and the staff strapped across his back. he'd honestly just come in to get someone to point him in the right direction of his new housing, but then he'd managed to get distracted by all the drink choices. none of them make any sense, which only drives home just how foreign this place is. ]

She's reveling in this new found life (though still skeptical about all this 'savior' nonsense) when it comes to a screeching halt with just a few off-hand words overheard.

'Painting a bigger target on this city's back.' Was she... endangering these people with her presence? Was this place really no different from home? Anxiety wells up in her as she starts to realize how stupid it was to believe that things could be different, that she could be alright here. ]

I'm sorry, I don't... want to cause any trouble. Don't fight, it's cool. Really. I'll, uhm. I'll find somewhere else to go.

[ Though she appears rather distressed, it feels like tensions are mounting and no one is listening. No, no, no, this is the opposite of what she wanted. ]

[ The words are sung under her breath. It's a quiet hum of them just to keep her head on straight as she sorts through her thoughts. All this attention is a little overwhelming, honestly, and Rose can't say she's quite sure what to do with it. She's spent thirty years staying out of the spotlight so to be suddenly thrust into it leaves her at a bit of a loss.

So many eyes on her isn't actually new, but this is... different. They're expecting something entertaining from her but not in a malicious way. Not really. They want her to do something that they can film for posterity. Or, at least, some good ratings on TV she supposes.

Well. Why not? Once she realizes that they aren't going to make her do anything she doesn't want to, she decides to give them the show they're looking for. The blond suddenly hoists herself up onto an outside table at an nice little cafe and, as she often does, starts to sing. Not only does she sing, but she dances lightly as well. Some might recognize the song, some might not. ]

Chelsea Rodgers was a model. Thought she really rocked the road, yes she did! Kept her tears up in a bottle; poured them out to save her soul. Try to catch her if you can, you never see her with my man. He must be baptized, according to the masterplan, 'fore she give up the good thang. Go ahead, Chelsea! [He can't believe he's here again.

It's not just being surprised that he's been torn from his world and thrown into this one again. Getting his mind refilled with memories of his last brief stay here and his much longer time in the reality proceeding it is...strange, and uncomfortable, and it makes his heart start to ache again just when he thought it couldn't any more, but compared to the living nightmare the rest of his day (Days? Time was hard to keep track of when you were temporarily deified) had been, it was nothing.

No, Shinji is more unable to accept that he's anywhere. At all.]

This wasn't supposed to happen. [That's what the scrawny, dark-haired Japanese teenager is mumbling to himself as he unsteadily walks through the city streets. It's not really a complaint, more just a blankly stated fact that he's repeating again and again, as if trying to convince himself of it.

Shinji's not really watching where he's going either, eyes instead locked to the ground in front of him and the rest of his attention focused mainly on the small object he's currently clutching to his chest. Luckily for him, people seem to be mostly getting out of his way once they realize that he's far beyond the realm of giving a shit about slamming into someone on the street and intends to just keep walking forward until he can't anymore. Or at least until he's able to process everything that he's feeling about existence and being around people, real live unmerged-into-a-massive-god-being people, once again.

Still, it's clear to anyone watching - including several natives not expecting one of the new imPorts to be having an ongoing existential crisis - that this is someone who isn't doing well.]


03. Maurtia Falls

[It's been a few days and Shinji is back on his feet. Except for the increasingly small amount of sleep he's getting every night, and the nightmares that keep interrupting those brief windows of rest.

Okay let's be real the kid's still pretty messed up, but at least he's doing well enough to realize that he desperately needs caffeine in his system to keep going at this point. Ignoring the dirty looks and muttered comments from the people inside the coffee shop is easy enough for someone with fourteen years of brushing everyone around him off under his belt, though part of him really wants to give them a piece of his mind and flip a table over with his powers, just to scare them.

But they're just assholes. That's not a crime.

Still, that reticent anger might be why when the three teenagers approach him when he turns into the alley next to the shop and start making obvious overtures towards robbing him, he doesn't give in. Instead, he holds onto his umbrella and his precious, precious coffee and stands there, barely even looking at them.

This? Totally a crime,]

Wow. Even working in the rain, huh? You guys are really dedicated to being terrible. I'm impressed. [The dismissive tone in his voice is enough to anger the thieves, and the incredibly casual sip of his coffee after gets the trio's leader to move from thinly veiled physical threats to much more obvious and shouted physical threats. And creative insults about Shinji's mother that makes the corner of the exhausted boy's mouth twitch.

Maybe Shinji needs saving? He looks pretty helpless...]

[It wasn't difficult for Nike to notice the situation concerning the other boy being surrounded by three other boys especially when she was able to hear some of the insults and threats from where she was exploring the city. As much as she has learned her lesson over never lowering her guard around this particular location or even showing off her powers, she couldn't keep herself from wanting to help someone in need. The very idea of someone tormenting others has never sat well with her.

She'll get closer into the alley with arms on her hips.]

Three against one, huh? Don't you find that a tad bit pathetic even for people like you? I would of thought the people in this town knew the key difference between being a tough guy and a bully!

[Her condescending tone will definitely turn their attention towards her as they found her outburst to be insulting. One will get separate from the group as he threatens Nike with cutting her "pretty face" with the pocket knife they had. Her gaze will turn close to one filled with concentration as she begins to mumble words under her breath which will have the group laughing, believing she was backtracking; however it won't be long until the wind surrounding them will become stronger until the blade of the pocket knife will break in two. The teenager will notice the way his weapon's blade slid off. The other teenagers will grow uneasy as they realize she used the wind to accomplish it. It won't be long until Nike turns her gaze to the boy she was trying to help.]

If you don't wish to be blown away along with them, you may want to step back or get as close to the wall as possible. My abilities are still unstable. I can't guarantee your safety. [Then her attention will return to the trio.] Nor if they won't be torn to pieces in the process. [In other words: this may a good time as any for those boys to run, wouldn't it?]

[Money can't buy happiness, but it sure can buy some security in an unfamiliar world. And though Pennsylvania is the last motherfucking place Job would choose to return to, the convenience of inter-city porter travel makes it a hell of a lot easier to visit than, say, his beloved hometown of New York City. Anyway, word on the street says this is the place to make a few less-than-legal dollars. Beggars can't be choosers.

As far as discretion goes, Job has none. He hasn't forgone makeup today, out in full cyberpunk-drag-queen regalia that's turning a lot of heads as he sashays down the street in precisely the wrong part of town. He'd like to be the bigger man and ignore all the rude-ass comments being thrown his way, but it's the final straw when a car pulls up beside him, rolls down the window, and the driver has the audacity to ask, "How much?"

Job stops dead in his tracks and turns sharply to slam the metal heel of his platform boot into the car door, leaving a dent.]

[Ill-gotten funds now acquired and spent, Job plants his ass at a table outside a cafe with his brand new state-of-the-art laptop, jacking the complimentary wifi to do a little research on this brave new world he's somehow landed himself in. It doesn't take him long to write up a little program to do the digging for him, and while that's running, he turns his attention to the barely-visible tattoo glowing faintly on his wrist. This creepy sci-fi bullshit simply will not do. He's going to have to do a bit of self-surgery once he's back in his room.

Some passerby notices him looking and, recognizing all the telltale signs of an imPort, stops to snap a photo. Job immediately hops to his feet, snatching the phone out of the person's hand.]

Ain't nobody ever teach you motherfuckers any manners?

[He throws the phone onto the ground and stomps on it, crushing it beneath his heel.]

[Cafes are meant to be a cooldown period where Jeff can sit down, drink coffee and catch up on emails without being harassed in his office about work every two seconds. Sure, there's still the risk of being harassed by fans, but that's something he can deal with, managing the occasional photo of autograph without too much annoyance on his behalf and easily excusing himself back to his laptop for 'work'.

What he doesn't expect is other imPorts to be kicking off about the attention while he's trying to keep his head down.

That doesn't look good for any of them when there's property being destroyed and fans being sworn at, so he steps in, plastering on the mask of professionalism as he almost apologetically interjects. His wallet comes out, offering over a stack of cash to the native for way over the phones value while making light of the whole situation.]

He's not having a great day. No more pictures, thanks. ['Now plz leave, kthx' should be his follow up, but instead he turns his attention away from the passerby, making it clear he's done with them, instead looking to his fellow imPort with an arched brow.]

Maybe less with the personal property damage next time. You a newbie? [He's pretty sure he'd remember a face like that.]

"Oh my God! Are you, like, one of the imPorts?"

At first Bruce isn't sure the girl's voice is for him. He's doing nothing unusual, really, as he walks down the street. Although he supposes his clothes don't exactly fit in with the modern look of the city. Any city really. But his curiosity is what turns him around, and what he finds is a group of teenage girls a few years older than him staring.

"I am," he tells them, to which they squeal and crowd around him like he's someone worth knowing. This is an entirely new ordeal for Bruce. Most girls his age don't come flocking up to him. They talk with their friends behind their hands as he goes by.

"Which one are you?" asks one of them. "What's your name?"

"Bruce. Bruce Wayne," he tells them, but by the look on their faces it's not what they expected.

"Bruce Wayne? I thought you were older!"

"No, no, that's the billionaire! The one running Wayne Enterprises—"

"That's right," Bruce interjects, surprised these girls know anything about the family business. "It's my family's company."

"Then you're really that Bruce Wayne?" They all scream in unison, and it is the most deafening thing he's ever heard. "You are so small! It's so cute!"

"He's like a babby!"

"A little babbu! Oh em gee, can you imagine if Tony Stark was tiny, too? How cute would they be together. You should write a fic about that!"

"Oh my God, I should!" Then one of them turns their attention back on Bruce who is almost catatonic in his confusion. "Do you have a girlfriend? Or a boyfriend?"

"Uhm..." This is usually about the time either Alfred or Selina saves him, but it looks like his luck has run out.

Bruce doesn't look over his shoulder, but he's sure he's being tailed. It's obvious when he picks up his pace and rounds a corner. These men are no lackadaisical citizens out for a stroll. They have a purpose, one that is made clear to him when someone steps out of an alley right in front of him.

His expression remains neutral, but his heart is pounding from a surge of adrenaline. His body is telling him to fight or flee, but of course it's not much of a decision. He'll stand up to these men, he won't bend to their petty wishes.

"You're in an awful hurry, kid," a young man says, perhaps the leader of the small group. He seems confident and cocky; something Bruce hopes he can use against them if necessary.

"And you're a coward," Bruce tells him bluntly. Guess it isn't something the punk expected, because he actually looks surprised.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me." Bruce faces him head on, brow pinched. "Three men against one boy. That's not fair. Is that the only way you know how to win?" He can't take all three of them on his own realistically. But if he can bruise the leader's ego, get him to face him one and one, then maybe he would stand a chance.

"I'm gonna make mince meat outta you, kid," the leader swears, breaking away from the other two men and coming to meet Bruce face to face. he blocks the first swing the leader makes (it's wide enough to see coming), but he's not quick enough to counter the next. He takes it in the mouth and drops to the ground like a bag of dirt. But like hell that's stopping him. The pain is negligible in the moment; he knows he must get back up and weather this storm. So he does just that.

"Oh what? You want more?" Well, the leader is ready to honor the kid's wish.

Bruce's saviour comes in the form of a grown man picking him up so he can stare at him incredulously. He couldn't help overhearing the conversation and now he's not sure if he heard correctly. Bruce Wayne is a pod person who emerged as an adult after his pod parents were killed.

Hal might be having a little bit of difficulty imagining Bruce as a child.

"Spooky, is that really you?"

The girls continue giggling and there's something about 'daddy issues' mentioned, but Hal's really good at ignoring things. In fact he's just going to walk away while still holding Bruce at arm's length.

She's aware that she must look completely out of place -- and definitely lost, trying to find an address she'd been texted by someone to meet up for coffee. The men following her? It's so completely typical that Carol feels she hasn't left her home at all. Realize that she can't shake them only makes her spin the ring around her finger -- she could, if she was out of the public eye. She'll be damned if she compromises her identity here without a damn good reason. But in private? That's fair game.

Leading the men down an appropriate alley takes her a few minutes, and the moment one of them calls out to her, asking for her money or her life, Carol turns around to face them. Knives? She's soaked, in a strange version of America with no response every time she queries her ring, and she doesn't have time for this.

"It's men like you," Carol says evenly as a pink glow overtakes her, Star Sapphire costume replacing her business casual attire and providing her with a nice buffer against the rain, "that make my job a lot harder."

At which point Carol uses a glowing, giant pink hand to backhand the closest one into a wall.

That pink aura was far too distinctive and Hal finds himself flying up to meet them without any doubt that it might be another Star Sapphire. It could only be her, there was just something right about believing it to be so.

He's missed her, sometimes more than planes he used to fly at Ferris. Being with her gave him almost the same kind of thrill that he only knew how to find in the sky.

As she comes into view he wonders if this was a little like how she felt after he released his Black Lantern ring in favour of the green again. He wants to sweep her off her feet and never let go which is a little difficult as she's not on her feet to begin with so he settles for a hug.

If anyone was scanning their emotional states they'd only find love from him with only the barest amount of will keeping him afloat.

Heropa [James was pretty used to the idea of people calling him out and saying that he can't protect them (he couldn't blame them at all really since he had zero plans to protect anyone). However seeing people defending him and being friendly to him throws him for a loop. It didn't help that James didn't actually do anything to gain their trust and he really didn't know how to handle the positive attention.

Honestly James couldn't even remember the last time anyone showed him such kindness at first glance.

[Now that James was especially surprised about, He had never had anything just given to him in an eternity. James looks around to see if the woman was talking to another ImPort and pointed at himself. When the woman nodded to confirm that she was talking to him James didn't know whether to cry or be incredibly skeptical.]

Are you sure? I am a bad guy you know.

[At that, the presumed manager just wordlessly walks back into the cafe and closes the door behind her. James almost immediately regrets the decision as he cries into the window to the cafe.]

W-wait! Just because I'm bad doesn't mean I can't do anything good! I promise I won't do anything bad if you give me a drink!

[He turns to a nearby person and grabs them in a desperate attempt to gain some sympathy.]

C'mon you believe me right! Even bad guys deserve free stuff right? At least free drinks!

[Well there could be worse first impressions of someone.]

[And speaking of bad guys: James figured that even though he was alone and he had no idea where Giovanni was or even if he's here, that doesn't mean he should stop trying to steal Pokemon!

So on the streets in various cities you will see James wearing a "disguise" that can best be described as "James in a ponytail and wearing a different outfit". Behind him is a strange contraption with two small indentations and a large LED screen behind it flashing "Poke-Strength-Tester".]

Have you ever wondered how strong your Pokemon was compared to your friend's but hated going to the Pokecenter afterwards or worrying about carrying potions? Well not all of that's over with my Poke-Strength-Tester! All you need are two people with their strongest Pokemon! [Having a following of fans really isn't anything new to Inanna. If anything it's a welcome comfort, a reassurance that not everything in this strange new world is completely foreign, and so he's all too eager to indulge them with whatever they're hoping for whether it's showing off with little bursts of purple and white stardust or answering whatever questions they come up with. Especially questions about shipping.]

First you're going to have to forgive me for my ignorance. I don't know any of the other imPorts yet, but I can assure you that I support all shipping. I can't wait to see who people decide to pair me with.

B - Maurtia Falls

[This looks like the last place Inanna should be. He's far too much of a target with his bold and expensive looking wardrobe choices. Even the umbrella he's carrying looks like it could easily cost a hundred dollars or more, so it's no surprise at all that a few shady looking figures have started tailing him through the rain. What is surprising is the fact that as soon as they get close enough to make a grab for him, he disappears in a brilliant burst of purple and white stardust.

He reappears a block away with a bemused grin on his face and waves cheerily at the confused thugs.]

[ Lucifer is prowling about, hunting for imPorts in the rain. There's been a movement for heroes to do extra work in Maurtia Falls to try and clear the place up, but it would be terribly dull if this hive of scum and villainy ever became something that it wasn't. Still, he lets himself brush against the souls below, feels the twist of fear and aggravation from the thugs, and alights just behind the creature waving at them from down the street, invisible wings settling into place with the slight rustle of feathers against feathers.

An imPort, certainly, but new. Definitely...definitely new. ]

So not only is she going to miss the Ragnarok music festival at home, now she has apparently also missed the convention dedicated to her? That is deeply, deeply unfair. There was so much gossip to read through, and none of it was even about people she'd slept with. Dude.

That's why she's keeping an eye open for anyone who looks like another imPort who might be down to mess with the thirsty, unsuspecting masses. So when a promising looking candidate passes by the bench she gives them a wink.

"Hey, wanna start some rumors? I promise that's not the kind of pickup line it sounds like."

"Laura!" Inanna drops eagerly into the offered seat, leaning back with a carelessly relaxed pose. "Are you sure it can't be one?"

II. arrival

[ He is still uncertain how all this makes him feel, aside from the understandably overwhelmed sense of singularity. Of course anyone torn away from their home - from a system which they conform to and understand - would feel a little lost in a sea of new faces and a rather alien community, and as he adjusts his glasses he considers the feeling of nervousness somewhere deep in his chest. This is something unlike anything else he's experienced and until he's confident with his modus operandi he doesn't think he'll be sharing much other than a glance and a polite but rigid response.

Despite having his situation explained to him at length and having asked way too many in depth and difficult to answer questions, Ginoza still can't quite wrap his head around what exactly has happened to bring him here to this strange world, and the apparent cheeriness of this city is surprisingly doing more harm than good. Everyone seems polite enough at first, but when he mentions his predicament there's a definite change in their approach to him whether they are outright rude or continue to be polite, and it has him steadily choosing to withhold that information the more people he talks to.. and also plays a part in him eventually avoiding to actively talk to people all together, preferring to listen instead. Lucky for him, compared to some of the others he'd arrived with, Gino blends in with a crowd quite well.

When eavesdropping on a particularly loud and animated conversation about the prejucide he'd been facing, he decides that it's time to leave and he turns abruptly.

Straight into whoever was standing behind him. Apparently someone's so used to being in a hierarchy that he's forgotten people don't automatically step out of his way. Regardless, he isn't as much of a dick about it as he potentially could be - probably something to do with that whole new world thing, maybe - and simply backs off and apologises with a blunt dip of his head. ]

Sorry. [ It comes out awkward, so it also sounds totally incincere. This mans hard life. ] Are you alright?

II. network

[ The feed opens to Ginoza sitting at a desk he's already meticulously organised despite not having very much on the desk to organise, and he clears his throat by way of greeting. ]

This is Inspector Ginoza Nobuchika of CID Division 1, requesting that any members of the MWPSB get in immediate contact with me. [ He pauses then, still not making eye contact, choosing instead to look somewhere off to the right as though he's speaking to someone just behind the camera. ] As I'm aware the officials here are at least aware of my reality, so I assume someone from my world has passed through here at some point. They wouldn't give me any tangible information, no names or even confirmation, so I'm resorting to other methods to get the answers I need.

[ He does that thing with his glasses. Y'know the thing, the smart anime guy thing. Where he kind of shifts his glasses a little on his face and they flash in the glare of the light. ]

And if anyone has any experience with the law of this world, I'd be very interested in picking your brains.

[Double awkward rainbow all across the sky, what does it mean--er, that is, the guy Gino runs into grunts as he's jostled, the iced coffee in his hands making a surprise trip all over the floor. He sighs, kneeling down to pick up the cup.]

[It's as he's getting up to fetch some napkins, maybe ask if they have any regular towels, that he suddenly registers that he knows that voice. His head jerks upright from where he is still half-kneeling on the floor as if he were a marionette and something had just yanked on his strings.]

"Uh, thank you." Laurel said to a kindly elderly lady who offered her a tupperware filled with chocolate chip cookies. "I'll keep protecting the city." Something that she hasn't actually done just yet, not as herself or the Black Canary. Laurel had also heard talk about becoming 'registered' and the benefits it provided, but she wasn't sure what she was going to do just yet; she needed more information first.
She placed the container into her bag and thanked the lady again before heading off down the street in the direction of her office. Laurel had barely made it to the end of the street when she was approached by two men, both with surly looks on their faces.

"Protect the city will ya?" The smaller of the two men snarled at her. "Not likely."

"Yeah, you'd probably worry about breaking a nail." His partner chimed in with a sneer.

Laurel sighed and shook her head. "Guessing you boys left your manners at home, huh? I really need to get somewhere so if you wouldn't mind moving out of my way, that would be great."

The two men exchanged a glance before laughing in her face. They seemed to have no intention of letting her past.

"Damn. I was really hoping that would work." She smiled dangerously. "Now step aside before I make you."

Laurel was not used to being followed around by strangers and having her picture taken whilst walking down the street. That kind of thing was more Oliver Queen's territory, especially at the height of his playboy days. Wishing that she had a pair of sunglasses, Laurel shoved her hands into her pockets and walked a little faster in the hopes that she would be able to find somewhere to hide out until the coast was clear.

But for some reason or another, the crowd were not discouraged by Laurel's efforts to get away as they continued to follow her, shouting out questions and snapping away on their smartphones and cameras.

She stopped walking and turned on her heel to face the group of people, straightening her shoulders and looking firm but polite. The group had their devices at the ready, looking expectantly at Laurel to see what she would do next. "Okay, I'd like everyone to please stop following me. I'm pretty sure you've taken enough pictures by now and I can't stick around."

That should be enough to get them off her back. She wasn't being mean or dismissive. They seemed like a reasonable group and Laurel knew how to convince people to be on her side. Oh. It looked like someone was going to respond. Okay, this was good. They could all leave her alone after that.

"What kind of hair conditioner do you use?"

Laurel opened her mouth, then shut it again.

Dear God. She was never getting out of this.

Ruby stood nearby with an eyebrow raised, glancing back and forth between everyone in this little standoff. The woman was obviously outnumbered and outsized, but she knew better than most that that didn't always mean much.

"I mean, either way," she continued as she casually approached, "the beating they'll get is probably nothing compared to what's coming after I grab their phones and find 'Mommy' in the contacts to let her know her darling boy tried to beat up a nice lady in the middle of the street. That's really not gonna go over well, don't you think?"

because it's pretty much going to be a guarantee that this one sticks out like a sore thumb – no matter where he goes, no matter who he surrounds himself with. nearly always a head taller, at the very least, from everyone around him, it isn't so much his blank, curious expression that has him pegged for a new import so much as the fact that he probably towers over everyone.

but maybe it's the blank, curious expression. that might have something to do with it, too. you never know.

for the most part, sam likes to think that he keeps things under control even when they feel as though they might slip right through his fingers if he isn't careful. new place, new people – new everything – but it's just like any other town he and dean have been to, the unfamiliar faces and the strange looks from the locals, even if most of them are smiling. friendly.

maybe he'll take that free drink, if it's offered. nothing wrong with accepting hospitality if you're going to eventually start digging for information, right? )

iii → maurtia falls; this feels a little more like home.

( and now, he's trying to blend in as much as possible.

which is what has him stepping into the bar in the first place, head ducked down even though his profile still doesn't make for something small enough to pass by a trained eye, but it's dark and dingy enough that he thinks he'll be all right. he just wants a little peace and quiet, after all. not to stir things up and end up making some sort of trouble for himself. that is more dean's area of expertise, and he really has no problem leaving him to it.

even if, more often than not, it ends with his younger brother cleaning up his messes. or trying to, at the very least.

he keeps his elbows angled inward as he makes his way to the bar, intent on ordering something strong, something to take a bit of the edge off. there's nothing about his body language that even hints at wanting to be more than a fly on the wall, background noise, and it might just be that that has someone purposely bumping into him, the jolt of the action seeing him take a step and a half back and nearly raise his hands in a non-confrontational gesture.

he's halfway to it when he stops, thinks about what it might imply, and it's enough to have his posture straightening, shoulders squaring. )

[ Lucifer doesn't impose himself upon Sam as straightforwardly as he does Dean. He feels him, when they find themselves in the same city on the same night, in different bars entirely, and this--well, what an opportunity it is. Separated momentarily by circumstance, and sure to reunite with each other in two seconds flat. It's somewhat amusing to him to see how persistent the Porter is to provide an antithesis to the Devil, a hero to all his villainy, just when he's about to really dig in and hurt some of these people. Both of them at once. Nice try.

But Dean is very much not himself, and Sam... There must surely be something wrong with him, too. After all, when is everything right?

You have to give it to him, he has a point.

Lucifer blends in deliberately. He speaks with a young woman at the bar, positioning himself so that he can see Sam through the hanging glasses, but the hunter can't immediately see him. And then... Well, then he deliberately starts shedding his power, bringing the temperature in the bar gradually down. Women grab their coats and pull them on, the bar manager tries to force the thermostat to cooperate, and slowly the evening crowd starts to thin out, heading to find a place to drink that isn't creeping toward the icier side of chilly.

Sooner or later, there will be few enough people around the bar that Sam will have to notice him. ]
